Apr 28, 2013How to save a file as a PDF in Revit Architecture 2014? I have tried going to print and then just save as a PDF, but there is not a PDF option.

A few times we thought we had it fixed only to have it return with a vengeance.
Seems to crash after loading Project Navigator files. Error log attached.

Oct 16, 2013When Autocad is started, it appears to be in a maximized window (it covers the entire screen and the windows maximize icon in the upper right corner shows maximized, but if I click on the top of the screen I can still drag the location of the Autocad window as though it was not maximized. Clicking the windows button to show in a window reduces the Autocad window as it should and re-clicking to maximize APPEARS to maximize Autocad, but it can still be dragged from the top of the screen.
This is not a windows problem, because all of my other programs (internet explorer, MS word, etc.) will maximize as they should.
I am running windows 7, 64 bit and Autocad 2014.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Saving The Default Settings When Starting Up In 2014?
Aug 21, 2013I am installing AutoCAD for the first time in a lab at a high school. We have roaming profiles for each user. When I launch AutoCAD for the first time as a user, the program goes through it's first time configuration, check the "Privacy Statement" and uncheck the "Show at Start up" on the welcome box. After I log off and log back in and launch the program again, it goes through the setup again and I don't have the setting I had changed on the previous launching of the program. I think it has something to do with the roaming profiles because when I login as myself (I don't have roaming profiles) it works fine.

Oct 21, 2013I have a situation where a teacher in our PLTW(Project Leads The Way) who uses inventor products for sometime is not able to save a old current project or make changes to this project, then save it. What is happening is it gives a blue screen error and corrupts the file so it cannot be fixed or opened. We cannot duplicate the process with the teacher, but we can if the file is opened on another computer and it is opened also on another computer at the same time as other pc. However, the teacher states that he doesn't have it open on any other PCs in the school.

Oct 1, 2013how to get the annotative scale to work with schedule tags.When I use attributes in blocks I draw the attribute definition with a height that I wish it to display in PaperSpace. Then when defining the block I select the annotative scale so that the block and text display correctly in any viewport.
However when I create Scheduling Tags using the Create Tags button on the Annotate/Scheduling tab it shrinks the text by 1/8" as soon as the tag is created. I've made sure that the scales are set to 1:1 when I create it. I guess I can just enlarge the text 8 times before I make the Tag.
AutoCAD Architecture :: 2014 Spaces Display Representations
Sep 30, 2013I have a file with several Space Styles. As I progress on the drawings I would like to modify some of the display properties, primarily color of the fill. I would think I could set the overall appearance of each Space Style in one location and then adjust elements of various display representations. In my case have a red hatch for a space style but in one display rep it would be solid and in another it would be a diagonal hatch.
As I see it, if I wish to modify the color I have to go into each display rep and adjust the color of the base hatch and click on the Style Override check box. It seems like duplicative work. Is there another method of setting the color of each Space Style so that it shows the same in all display reps?

Nov 18, 2013I am running Architecture 2014 (PrDS-U) on a Windows8 Pro N.
In Architecture I am a frequent user of the Project Navigator.
After moving to W8, I find that I can not edit Project properties, neither from Project Browser nor the Navigator.
The project resides on my local C:VCC and the folder is being shared on my network. It is not write protected. Everyone has full access.
Others who are connected to the share can edit the project, they are running Windows 7. I cannot.

Jul 8, 2013When I try to attach a 2013 Excel file into a 2014 drawing I get a message 'You have selected an unsupported DGN File. Only V7 and V8 files are supported.' Cannot attache through the Import command either. I know in past versions you could insert the file and any changes made to the file appeared to the attachment in the drawing.
Is this no longer possible? Surely not, it is way to handy. What am I overlooking to make this happen?
AutoCAD Architecture :: 2014 / Customizing CUIx Causes Loss Of Menus?
Aug 28, 2013Doesn't CUIx mean Custom User Interface?
Background: Using a new release of 2014 out of the box. Made some changes to the .PGP file, created a custom palette and dragged some tools and gave them some standardized styles. Worked fine all day.
Problem: The next morning I booted up ACA and the menu ribbon failed to load. At the command prompts suggestion I tried CUILOAD. Got the dialog box, found the ACA.CUIX file, but despite pressing the LOAD button nothing happened.
Fix: I looked into the folder where the ACA.CUIX file was located (first folder on the support path), noticed there was a ACA.bak.CUIX file in the same folder. I renamed the ACA.CUIX file and then took the .bak "extension" off of the other file. Everything loads fine... except no customization.
Odd note: Last night, after I closed all my applications I went to shut down my computer and got Windows 7 version of the Blue Screen of Death. I immediately rebooted and all looked OK, but I did not start ACA. Not sure if related but just thought I mention it.
Request: Is there a special step that I missed when creating a custom palette that caused it not to reload?
I tried attaching the offending .CUIx file but the forum rejected it by stating "The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file type."

Aug 29, 2013We experienced a problem. we have a drawing file, is about 1.6meg not big. while working in model space doing some 3D work, all of a sudden all the objects dissapear except for some text. all layers are on and thawed. we regen all, zoom all. weird thing is when we go into the paper space tabs everything shows up. so all the data is there some place but cant find it in model space.
there are no xrefs in the drawings and i had cleaned all the multiple copies out before to keep the file size down and more workable. this is happening on two machines. other drawings are fine.

Nov 22, 2013when creating a schedule with a simple formula column (e.g : [QUANTITY]*Width), the formula column total doesn't add the formula results for a grand total. The total shown is the addition of Width of element.
If I try and enable "Apply formula to totals", the total is : total quantity*total width instead of just a simple addition of formula resulting values.
For example:
I have 4 windows of 2 different styles.Two windows have a width of 2 meters, the other 2 windows have a width of 3 meters. I want to find out, my total window width, of all window styles.Therefore, i make a schedule with the following columns: QUANTITY, WIDTH and TOTAL WIDTH. The total width column is a formula column (Quantity*Width). The total of the formula column (Quantity*Width) doesn't add the resulting values (2*2+3*2=10), it only adds the simple widths without multiplication with quantity, my result is 5, wich is incorect. If i enable "Apply formula to totals", it multiplies total quantity (4) by total width (5).
I need a solution for having the corect total on the formula column.
Revit :: 2014 - Rendering In Cloud
Jun 21, 2013I have just loaded Revit 2014, and then loaded a project file created in Revit 2013. When I try to render a view in the cloud I get an error message that says "The file could not be translated.-1" I have tried this with several projects and get the same error for all.
However if i create a new project in 2014 the render works fine, it only seams to be a problem when I upgrade a project from revit 2012 or 2013.
Revit :: 2014 Keeps Freezing / Not Responding?
Jul 24, 2013The program works fine until I try to edit the boundary of the topography. As soon as I click "edit boundary", the screen goes black for about an hour, then comes back with about 25% loaded. This cycle repeats until the loading is complete, so it takes me a few hours just to enter edit mode. The file is only 17, 280 KB, and Ive been running 240,000 KB files without an issue whatsoever.

Jun 13, 2013My problem is similar to the "send behind"/"bring to front" commands that you use when you're drawing. But my issue is this: what wastes a lot of time for me in the new program is when I try to work in multiple windows at once. (Btw, we don't have large screens to work with here.) Usually what I'll do is have, say, three or four windows up at a time, none of which are maximized, and usually have two that I'm working on side by side, with the remaining one or two sitting in the background. I also keep a lot of windows active, and minimized, so that's not the answer I'm trying to find. I work mostly in model space if that makes any difference, though I don't think it should.
Now, not only do the borders of each of my windows get all sorts of funky screen images on them when I move them around (mildly amusing but not annoying), but what really grinds my gears is that the orientation, or layering, or what-have-you, of the windows that I have active and open in the background is not retained. Let's say I have X-1 and A-1 up front and center, and I have A-3 and A-4 in the background. Let's say I had moved A-3 to sit on top of A-4 before I started working on the X-1 and A-1 sheets. Now, in the 2013 version, if I'd slide X-1 or A-1 out of the way, I'd see A-3 sitting right there on top, all happy and pretty where I left it.
