AutoCAD Inventor :: Pro 2014 Crashes When Saving Older File
Oct 21, 2013
I have a situation where a teacher in our PLTW(Project Leads The Way) who uses inventor products for sometime is not able to save a old current project or make changes to this project, then save it. What is happening is it gives a blue screen error and corrupts the file so it cannot be fixed or opened. We cannot duplicate the process with the teacher, but we can if the file is opened on another computer and it is opened also on another computer at the same time as other pc. However, the teacher states that he doesn't have it open on any other PCs in the school.
I use a machine called a shopbot to cut wood projects. Students draw the parts in Inventor, place them into a idw and use the save copy feature to save it as a DXF file. The shopbot uses a progam called partworks v2 and it reads DXF files. This worked great for the past few years until this summer when we installed the 2013 inventor on our computers. I contacted Shopbot and they said other people are having the same problem and the solution for most of them was to save the idw file as an older version. Last year we had AutoDesk 2011 and it worked fine. how I can save a 2013 idw as a 2011 idw?
Yesterday inventor worked fine, I made 3 new parts. But today when I wanted to put these parts together in an assembly and I try opening a new file, inventor crashes?
I still can open projects, but can't create a new project.
PS. I'm using Inventor 2014 Student Version with service pack 1 on Windows 8.1
I'm having a problem with the files saved from Inventor, regardless of type. I have no problem saving new files or opening files, however, any time I try and save changes to a file, inventor crashes. Also if I try and move a file, windowes explorere gets stuck at "descovering items." Renaming a file crahses explorer.
I had both Inventor 2012 and 2013 (and entire Product design suite of both program versions) installed on my Win 7 64 bit Dell Precision Laptop, all working flawlessly. On recieving a copy of 2014 I decided to uninstall Inventor 2012 which I carried out through Add/Remove programs in Windows 7. Then I tried to launch Inventor 2013 and got an 0xc0000005 system error as per attachment 1.
I then went through the entire removal process to completely remove Autodesk products to do a fresh install of Autodesk 2014. This worked out and I did everything exactly as suggested here... [URL]
Then I disabled my Avast virus checker and stopped the process via task manager.
I then did a complete fresh install by right clicking on the Setup file on the Product design Suite 2014 dongle and choosing "open as administator" which I started without any issues. The installation then stopped while installing INventor 2014 with a 1406 error as per attachment 2. I searched the registry for the file mentioned in attachment 2 and deleted it from the registry and clicked retry and the installation finished without any further errors. I then restarted my computer and launched Inventor and again I recieved the 0xc0000005 error.
I then updated Inveontor with the DL21503391 update 1 from here... [URL]
I then updated 360.
I then tried to relaunch Inventor by right clicking and choosing "run as administrator" and proceeded to get the error 0xc0000005 as per attachement 1.
Obviously uninstalling 2012 is where the system 0xc0000005 issue began. I am trying to avoid a fresh Win 7 install.
Publishing parts to C Center or Editing tables in C Center Crashes Inventor Prof 2014
Before i say anything let me say that this problem occured last night. Was always there as i had not used the feature before in 2014. I uninstalled ONLY Inventor from the suite and re installed. It worked !!
Tonight i was publishing new parts and then Inventor crashed. Since its crashed again i cant publish or edit part family tables to make additions etc with Inventor crashing.
I believe something has corrupted again within the Inventor 2014 install and i dont know what.
Im looking for some pointers as i dont really feel like uninstalling and reinstalling Inventor to fix it.
I have cleared the cache from users folders etc. Im guessing i need to clear some thing else as well. This crashes in both Vault and local CC files.
in my autocad 2014 save as in 2007 & 2004 format system is not responding and not able to finish. but when i save in 2013 and 2010 format is ok. i install same copy of autocad in my laptop its working good.
I am having a problem with bringing in points from Autocad Civil 3d 2014 into older drawing files. Is there any way to do this and the points show up? when I bring the points in as .AUF or PENZD format, they do not show up... Is there any solution for this? or would I have bring the points into a blank drawing file, then xref the aforementioned points into the drawing I need them in? I have had this problem multiple times.. I have checked the regular solutions(Point styles, point groups, layers, froze, etc...) and they still wont show up..
I had autocad 2013 but it was infected with a virus so i was obliged to install 2012 version. problem is that all my files are saved as 2013 and would not open in 2012. How to save all files at once to older version?
I am currently using autocad 2002. An engineering firm has sent me a dwg file that was created using a much newer version of autocad. I asked them to save it back to version 2000, so I can open it. Well, I can open the file, but I'm getting this command "ARXERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass.. whenever I do a basic command??
Now I have gotten dwg files from other firms, and they have worked flawlessly. Would it be how this particular firm has saved the file?
I have tried to open a new drawing, and xref this drawing into it, but all the linework does not show up?
I am using a Mac retina display with OSX version 10.8.5. It has an internal flash/solid state drive. I am a member of Adobe CC. Since I installed the latest Photoshop update (14.1.2, x64), my Photoshop crashes when I try to save (command+S) a .psd file.
I have tried CS5 & CS4 and when I open the program and attempt to open or save an .ai file, the program completely crashes. My system specs are as follows:
I really love the new feature in Autodesk 3dsMax 2013 and 2014 which allows you to save your MAX file to an older format, this has been a great addition and useful a lot with the work and staff we associate with who all have different versions of 3dsMax.
Question... is there a setting in 3dsMax which you can enable/disable which once you save to an older version 3dsMax will continue to save to this version. Example... we're using 3dsMax 2014 and our clients are using 3dsMax 2012 so we will: File > Save As > Save as 3dsMax 2012 format. However during the modelling process staff will click the Save button in the toolbar or Hotkey "CTRL + S" to quicksave and this will default back to 3dsMax 2014 format. 3dsMax files then get delivered to the client and they can't open it.
The information is provided in the Properties so it 3dsMax does know what format the user has specified to save the file in.
In the right upper corner of autosek Invetor 2014 is a button wich says New (NEU = German) if i click there the window gets bright gray and says no response (keine Rückmeldung) ... i started the Laptop several times but it never Works.
My Autodesk Inventor Professional 2014 (witch I downloaded as beta) can not now open it's own files, but it opens other models that I did using 2013, attached is the message that shows up
I had Inventor 2013 and it worked well for a long time, I didn't use it for a while, then yesterday I tried to use it again and it wouldn't work. It starts up fine, and gets to the menu where you can choose from recent files, new files, tutorials, etc. After I select anything to open, whether its a new or old file, the program will load open the file then immediately stop working. No error message is displayed besides Windows telling me "this program has stopped working". I updated to 2014 yesterday, and the exact same problem persists.
I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.
I just upgraded to ACAD Mech 2014 from 2011. When I import my palettes and try to use them, the program crashes every time (fatal error and send report to Autodesk).Think I'll have to rebuild the palettes in 2014 for them to work?
