I had autocad 2013 but it was infected with a virus so i was obliged to install 2012 version. problem is that all my files are saved as 2013 and would not open in 2012. How to save all files at once to older version?

When trying to save the user gets the following error message "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created."
I did some searching in the discussion groups and it appears that this is a known/common issue with autcad lt 2013. Is there a work around to saving it in a format that older autocad applications can view?
I've been tasked with creating electronic versions of some older AutoCAD drawings for which only hard copies exist. There are a lot of them, so in an effort to expedite the process I thought I would try to scan the drawings and scale them appropriately so that I could just go through and trace the lines. I was planning on doing some sanity-checks of the measurements in the AutoCAD and actual drawings as well. This would save me the time of having to measure the length and angle between each of the lines on the drawing (to which there are wild variations) before drawing them in AutoCAD.
The problem is that these drawings were printed on some really large paper (Ex: 4ft by 6ft), so I can't really use a desktop scanner. My thought was that I could mount the drawings on a wall and take photographs of them using my camera instead. I would use the photographs to trace lines in AutoCAD.
we have bought aclt 2013 and we have got a problem with some files created wtih older versions of aclt.When we try to open the file (plan), the file name appears but the progress bar don' t move then the file close.

I installed 2012 a couple of months ago and have been working with it just fine. Recently, I cleaned up my computer and uninstalled earlier versions (2009,2010,2011) . Now, I am getting errors such as:
- error initializing sheet set manager
-etransmit not working
A customer has PS 5.0, 5.5 and 7.0 installed. He needs to free up disk space. Can he safely uninstall the older versions without compromising 7.0 or are there files common to 2 or more installations that will cause 7.0 not to work?

I didn't import the images to Lightroom, rather, I referenced them on my HD.
Do I need to export them as an older version? Or save the images in another format?
I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC.

It would allow me see where my text was and move it around. The new Indesign CC displays text, but with no outline around the text, which makes it difficult to re-adjust the box size and move around my text.
Is there a way to enable the text box outline to show when designing (not when printing) as the previous verisons of InDesign did?
As I have done for years I shoot in RAW and use Nikon transfer to load images from the card to my laptop and external drive. AFter I sort the images by subject I import them to Lightroom for the final touches. Not so with Lightroom 4.2 and Nikon D600..Adobe says if yousue transfer than 4.2 will not recognize the files and too bad ...as a company they are going downhill..I hope they correct the problem so I can import the 1500 images into Lightroom for final conversions.

I asked them to save it back to version 2000, so I can open it. Well, I can open the file, but I'm getting this command "ARXERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass.. whenever I do a basic command??
Now I have gotten dwg files from other firms, and they have worked flawlessly. Would it be how this particular firm has saved the file?

I was explaining to my sister how to use "save the web" but it turns out she has PS 4.0 and says she doesn't see that option anywhere.

1: I currently am using AutoCAD 2011 is there any option to back save drawings to 2008? I do not seem to have this choice.Only 2010 or 2007 or 2004.
2: If I upgrade to 2014 or 2013 will I have the option to back save to 2008?
I was just wondering if there is some way that civil 3d (2011) is capable of saving down to a 2004 version and still be able to view the civil 3d object. I know I can do this with 2007 version but I think that any ACAD version earlier than 2007 is not capable of recognizing the civil 3d objects.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI use a machine called a shopbot to cut wood projects. Students draw the parts in Inventor, place them into a idw and use the save copy feature to save it as a DXF file. The shopbot uses a progam called partworks v2 and it reads DXF files. This worked great for the past few years until this summer when we installed the 2013 inventor on our computers. I contacted Shopbot and they said other people are having the same problem and the solution for most of them was to save the idw file as an older version. Last year we had AutoDesk 2011 and it worked fine. how I can save a 2013 idw as a 2011 idw?

What is happening is it gives a blue screen error and corrupts the file so it cannot be fixed or opened. We cannot duplicate the process with the teacher, but we can if the file is opened on another computer and it is opened also on another computer at the same time as other pc. However, the teacher states that he doesn't have it open on any other PCs in the school.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI really love the new feature in Autodesk 3dsMax 2013 and 2014 which allows you to save your MAX file to an older format, this has been a great addition and useful a lot with the work and staff we associate with who all have different versions of 3dsMax.
Question... is there a setting in 3dsMax which you can enable/disable which once you save to an older version 3dsMax will continue to save to this version. Example... we're using 3dsMax 2014 and our clients are using 3dsMax 2012 so we will: File > Save As > Save as 3dsMax 2012 format. However during the modelling process staff will click the Save button in the toolbar or Hotkey "CTRL + S" to quicksave and this will default back to 3dsMax 2014 format. 3dsMax files then get delivered to the client and they can't open it.
The information is provided in the Properties so it 3dsMax does know what format the user has specified to save the file in.
I have upgraded over the year and now have versions 7 through CS3 residing on my system. Can I uninstall all these older version?

Since we installed the new NAS and copied all the data from the old one, opening and saving files takes too long. Sometimes the files hang while regenerating. Saving can take up to more then 4 minutes.
Other applications, for example photoshop, work fine. Copying files from the local disk to the network drive, even moren than 100MB works fine.All computers have windows 7 and the NAS is from Synologie.We tried reinstalling AutoCad but that doesn't solve the problem.We tried setting the savefidelity to 0 but that doesn't solve the problem.
Can prior versions of inventor access current versions of vault?As in, can Inventor 2010 access vault 2013? Or does it have inventor 2013 and vault 2013?

FYI, until December 2012 I worked in Inventor 10, now I have inventor 2013, so everything is new to me.
