The program works fine until I try to edit the boundary of the topography. As soon as I click "edit boundary", the screen goes black for about an hour, then comes back with about 25% loaded. This cycle repeats until the loading is complete, so it takes me a few hours just to enter edit mode. The file is only 17, 280 KB, and Ive been running 240,000 KB files without an issue whatsoever.

Ok, so I just got a new computer after having to deal with "Not Responding" from my old computer all the time just to find out I still have this issue with a brand new computer. It's really frustrating because it will do this all the time with small assemblies, big assemblies, parts, it doesn't matter. It also can be at any random moment from rotating the model to adding a constraint to saving. It doesn't seem to have any real pattern it just seems to happen all the time.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI have just loaded the student version of AutoCAD 2012 onto my brand new HP Pavilion Notebook which has 8 GB of memory - Processor AMD A8-3530MX with HP Graphics 1.90 GHz - running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I have created a file in Adobe Illustrator which I converted to a vector image and exported it to AutoCAD. I have loaded the image and have cleaned it up. I am now trying to re-scale it and my session keeps freezing. When I look at the task manager I see that the program is not responding. I have ended the task many times now!
I am trying out the free trial of LR4. My OS is Windows 7. The program is constantly freezing up and posting "Not Responding" at the top of my screen. I really dolike the program and would like to purchase it at the end of the trial, but only if the "Not Responding" stops.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm pulling my hair out about trying to figure out why my 3ds max design won't work (student version). The program will open, the welcome screen will come up, but within seconds of having a new file open, the program stops responding. This happens 100% of the time and generally within 10 seconds of being open. The program will not let me do anything before it freezes.
I have installed all three service packs. I have an i7 processor, runs off a solid state hard drive (a brand new one), 12 GB RAM, the graphics card is a few years old but should be fine.

I've a problema with autocad 2014 when I start it all programs are freezing about a variable period fron 30s at 1min.
With autocad 2013 I don't has problems.
I have been trying to install and run a student version of AutoCAD 2013 on my computer and it keeps crashing/freezing at the first startup after installation, and never works after that. Installation is all fine and smooth. Starting the program however takes a few seconds to load the plugins then it hangs at the loading screen forever. I've tried turning off the loading screen but the program itself just crashes and appears to be "Not Responding" anyway. I've tried uninstalling all Autodesk products and only install AutoCAD 2013 but it's still not working.
As for my computer, it runs Autodesk Inventor 2014 very well. Specification-wise:

RAM: 16GB
NVIDIA Quadro 600
I am running the new auto cad civil 3d 2014, downloaded from the design suite premium. I have left all of the programs installed (as a I saw that a few people chose to uninstall several of the programs). I am running auto cad on an @xi workstation, 4.1ghz processor, 16gb corsair vengence heatspred ram, 240gb ssd operating drive, 2tb storage raid 0 configuration storage drives, NVIDIA K2000 graphics card. It took me a while to configure the graphics settings within auto cad due to the high resolution, text is being portayed as small in some cases, commands are huge in others.
I am still adjusting all of those, however my real problem is that when I open certain drawings the program immediatly goes to not responding, and when I am working back and forth and trying to open multiple drawings it does the same. Just opening the program off of my desktop on a cold-start up takes maybe 15 seconds to be fully functional, the same with certain drawings. However others just seem to not want to be opened. This occurs with drawings large and small. Some large drawings open perfectly while some small ones crash, and vice versa. What could be the cause of this?
in my autocad 2014 save as in 2007 & 2004 format system is not responding and not able to finish. but when i save in 2013 and 2010 format is ok. i install same copy of autocad in my laptop its working good.

When rendering a job the program stops responding. The task manager shows the cpu working hard but the memory is not being used at all. Windows reports failure to recover program and the application exits.
I'm working in Revit 2012. Everytime I save my file it just sits there and thinks. When CTRL-ALT-DEL revit is not responding so I have to end task. The file is not of abnormal size and has been functioning fine until today. I haven't done or made anything in revit out of the ordinary. When I re-open the file I get a "seek failed" message. I open the backup file just fine, but again, cannot save it without it locking up on me again. I have audited and purged. I have copied and saved a new file under a different name.

Once upgraded, I was able to reload all the Revit links and see these links in views, as I should. Later the same day, when opening a new local file, I am unable to open a view after loading a link without Revit freezing. Not crashing, but freezing... the application says "Not Responding", the memory allocation is unchanged in the Window's processes, and the journal file is no longer being written to. I thought maybe this is just taking a long time to process, but 1) it didn't take this long to open the view with the loaded link when it was first successful, and 2) I've left it for hours without change.

I need a COMPLETE file for Navisworks...
When I go to Revit, and try to export to NWC file, it starts the export process... about 40 minutes in (YES, 40 mins, it just loads and loads and loads) I will get an error message that "Revit has stopped responding"
This is now the 3rd time today I have tried this with no success. I also tried loading into Navisworks directly (Nav 2013) but will not read the files properly and bring them in together.
I know Revit 2012 is capable of exporting linked models to a single NWC file... however my computer does't seem to like it. I even just sat and read a book and did not internet serach or running any other programs at the time....
I NEED THIS TO WORK
Exporting each individual Revit model to NWC and recompling them in Navisworks IS NOT AN OPTION.
I need to export this large linked Revit file as ONE nwc file.. I know it CAN be done...
My laptop is fairly newer and has like 8gb of ram, so that shouldn't be the problem, is it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just loaded Revit 2014, and then loaded a project file created in Revit 2013. When I try to render a view in the cloud I get an error message that says "The file could not be translated.-1" I have tried this with several projects and get the same error for all.
However if i create a new project in 2014 the render works fine, it only seams to be a problem when I upgrade a project from revit 2012 or 2013.
We are being pushed from some of our customers to supply BIM files for Revit.I was told by our software supplier that Inventor 2014 could create Revit files, and it looks as though I can via the BIM Tab on the Ribbon. I havent used Revit or created any BIM content before and I was hoping to open another manufactures file (*.RFA) in Inventor to disect the file and how to create our own files. I can only find an import option in the OPEN dialog box for a Revit Project File (*.rvt). Is it possable to open/import a RFA files in Inventor 2014?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing model where I cannot create a filled region in one sheet, but on other sheets in the same model I can. the filled region appears but does not mask anything - it is transparent. Transparency is set correctly (to zero) and I have tried bringing it to the front.

in 3D - Section Box all measurement tools are grey indication of no use/doesn't applay/stay away/? Using 3D-SB you can have a glance insidea 3D modell and there be objects that only have a elevaton and no other properties except New Constuction (Specialty Equipment). So confirming space is a pain.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to print sheets that contain shaded (or better) 3D views, these 3D views do not appear on my prints/Pdf's/DWFx's. I've tried different PDF-drivers and hardcopy printers that are in my office, but they all don't work.
Some things that maybe can narrow the cause down:
- Printing a single 3D view to a DWFx works
- Printing a single 3D view to PDF or hardcopy printer doesn't work
- Printing a Hidden Line view on sheets works on alle printers
- 2013; printing a sheet containing 3D views works. When upgrading the same project to 2014, the same sheet fails.
