I just recently noticed that when I print documents from Revit Architecture, they are printing smaller than the scale size they are set to. I verified with a couple of different scale settings against a good old fashioned scale ruler. It seems to be consistently incorrect.
View 3 RepliesWhen I print in revit - at scale - 100% Zoom, I check it with an architecture scale and its off. For example, 25' - 0" in the revit file measured with a scale on paper is 23 ' 10". etc... Is it a revit issue, or a printer driver issue?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using the student version of Revit and have desparately been trying to create a document that would print to scale. I use PDF creator to convert Revit to pdf, but it always comes messed up by an inch or so...insted of 4.6, it prints 4.75 (or the other way around). I tried formating my title block in many different ways, including deleting the outer lines. Nothing works. There is no Arch D format in the family of titleblocks. I am a complete beginner, just started using Revit a couple months ago, with no knowledge of CAD or anything similar. When I look at the PDF creator page of my doc, it shows that the doc has been properly sized, but when the print place prints it out, it is off by 1" or so.
How do I format my sheet so it prints to scale in format 24" X36"?
Can you print a model file to scale without setting up a view with a scale? Like in Autocad, you could print the model space to a certain scale within the page setup manager. Does revit have anything like that? Or do I have to set up a sheet view prior to printing anything?

I'm creating a large scale banner (12' by 8') which includes a photographic background image with vector based logo elements and typography on top of it.
I am creating the document in photoshop, and wanted to know if using Smart Objects is the best solution for placing the logo elements and typography, but I don't know how they will be affected when the image is scaled for printing.
I have recently upgraded to CS6. I have attempted printing full documents in illustrator ( I tried a 12.5x18 document). In the print dialog box there is a preview of the full sized document however when I print it only prints 10 inches of the document. I am printing to a Canon IRadv- c5030/5035.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Viewport set to scale 1:100 and the Viewport is locked.The Annotation Scale displayed in the Viewport was 1:50.
When I clicked on the Synchronize Icon beside the Viewport Scale, the Viewport Scale changed, even though the Viewport was locked.
I was expecting the Annotation Scale to synchronize to the Viewport Scale.
Is this how it is supposed to work? and why does a locked Viewport Scale change?
This refers to AC A2011, when looking at the recent documents in the pull-down, it ONLY shows .dst files. Selecting file types is not the solution...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a floor plan with a very long footprint in a "View" drawn at a convenient scale.
The long building had to be broken to be put on several different "Sheets", and each of the floor plans on each of the sheet has a scale.
When I change the scale of the partial plan on one "Sheet", all the other sheets also change to the same scale and also the original view changes to the new scale.
Is there a way to assign the desired scale of the plan on one sheet without affecting the scale on the other sheets and on the original drawing view?
Working in ACA 2012 on a Windows 7 machine. Noticed that pinning documents in the "Recent Documents" under the main menu is acting goofy. If I pin a document (so that it presumably stays there no matter what) and then open other drawings, the pinned drawing gets pushed down the list just like any other. Eventually, it gets pushed off the list just like all the others.
Is there a system variable I'm not aware of that controls this feature? Or is this just a bug, but since this feature is rarely used no one has noticed it?
I created a wall detail in a scale of 3/4"=1' and when I change the scale to 3"=1' the hatching becomes smaller. I want the hatching to get larger without having to redraw it.

I understand terminology but i dont' have a lot of experience with photoshop.

I just found out that the last couple of drawings I have produced/worked on all have incorrect dimensions on them. I have spent a couple hours scouring the internet and cannot find any fixes.
My dimensions all work, and add up to what I am drawing, but when I print the sheet everything is out of scale. I have attached a simple drawing as an example. I drew a 190mm line and printed it 1:100. When I measure the line it comes to just over 4.8mm.

I work for a demolition company and and trying to print off site plans, sent to us by clients (which are drawn in CAD, but sent to us as pdf's), to scale on an A1 printer.
The documents being sent to us are supposedly to scale @A1. I have tried printing both in adobe and bluebeam but both programmes seem to lose accuracy and consistency between drawings.
What is the easiest and cheapest way of measuring, then printing pdfs to an accurate scale.
I am having an issue printing to scale. When I print my drawings, the scale is about 4" over 100' out of scale (short) All of the settings are correct for plotting. After printing off the same drawing to the A3 and the A4 yesterday, I realised the A4 printer is printing around 95% of the size it should be printing.
I don't even know where to start fixing this problem; the user manual for the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise [I know!] doesn't even reference scale at all. My client needs an a3 drawing I drew converted into a PDF so he can print the PDF off to the correct scale.
I created the pdf in autocad 2012 to A3 size and a scale of 1:1. I emailed the PDF to my client who now says that the PDF is not to the correct scale when he prints it, I instructed him to select the 'actual size' option he then said it cut off the drawing at either end of the drawing. He getting very angry now. He wants to be able to open the PDF press print and it to print out to scale.
I'm trying to convert a hand drawn paper plan of our house into Autocad so that I can tweak it. I'm not bad at drawing things in autocad, but how to set it up properly for the file to be printed out in a shop on A0 at the correct scale. View 2 Replies View RelatedIn AutoCAD Architecture 2012 we try to use the PDF Underlay to insert PDFs into our dwg files. We have problem to scale the pdfs correctly. We use metric units (mm) and when we insert our pdfs it scales to imperial units. For example, we have a pdf plotted from AutoCAD (or Revit) as an A1-sheet (841x594 mm) an insert it canceled to 1 the inserted pdf (image) get the size 33,11x23,39 which is the sheet size in inch. If the drawing is in 1:100 scale we would like to scale it up to 100 to get the correct scale in AutoCAD but it won't work.
I have tried insunits, insunitsdefsource, insunitsdeftarget but it has no effect.

So I've got a Construct that is the building model. I also have a View file for my 2D extracted elevations. I've just 'Refreshed' one of the elvations based on some updates I did to the construct model. But when the 2D elevation refreshed, it's surface hatching (roof tiles) scaled itself down considerably. What controls this? I need to have that hatching scale back up and don't know how.
I have a dwg template that has a Multileader Style that uses Annotative text. When I changed a viewport to a different scale....from 1"=1' to 3/4" =1', the text is not appearing to scale. It's very large. The Mtext changed to the correct scale but not the Multileader text. Where do I need to make a change?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 computers with Windows 7 OS and 2011 ACA installed with a custom profile set current. When I select annotative text, right click and select ADD/DELETE SCALE, the Annotation Scale dialog
box SHOULD open.... but it does not. I have this same profile set on other computers with Windows 7 and they are working fine. We have completely uninstalled ACA, wiped the registry clean, and reinstalled...
it's still doing the same thing. I can switch to the Out of the Box profile and the dialog box opens as it should. I'm not sure where to look within the profile for the issue since it's working on other computers.
I have Autocad Architecture 2014 installed on my office PC and Laptop.A drawing with a hatch pattern set to a scale of 1 on my laptop needs to be changed to a scale of 25.4 to look the same on my PC. Both versions of ACA are US metric.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to change the DIMSCALE. I want to change this is our template. It is 8'-0" and I can't get it to change to anything else. I get a response of "Cannot set DIMSCALE to the value". I have entered 1....1'=0"....0'=.8333....4'-0" etc., etc. Units are in Architecture Inches. I've unchecked "Automatically Create Dimscale Override"; saved as Default; went to Options...AEC Dimension and unchecked everything in "Automatic Scale of AutoCAD Dimstyles" (don't know if that has anything to do with it).
How do I change the DIMSCALE?
I am using Autocad Architecure 2011. I chnage the scale of a material (CMU) but it does not update the rendering with new scale. Is there a variable or something that is off?
