I am using Autocad Architecure 2011. I chnage the scale of a material (CMU) but it does not update the rendering with new scale. Is there a variable or something that is off?

I can't seem to change the DIMSCALE. I want to change this is our template. It is 8'-0" and I can't get it to change to anything else. I get a response of "Cannot set DIMSCALE to the value". I have entered 1....1'=0"....0'=.8333....4'-0" etc., etc. Units are in Architecture Inches. I've unchecked "Automatically Create Dimscale Override"; saved as Default; went to Options...AEC Dimension and unchecked everything in "Automatic Scale of AutoCAD Dimstyles" (don't know if that has anything to do with it).
How do I change the DIMSCALE?
I have a Viewport set to scale 1:100 and the Viewport is locked.The Annotation Scale displayed in the Viewport was 1:50.
When I clicked on the Synchronize Icon beside the Viewport Scale, the Viewport Scale changed, even though the Viewport was locked.
I was expecting the Annotation Scale to synchronize to the Viewport Scale.
Is this how it is supposed to work? and why does a locked Viewport Scale change?
I am using Autocad Architecture and am attempting to use 3-D for the first time. The program opens and runs fine, and it allows me to create objects with no issue. However, when I try to apply materials to an object, the materials do not show up. The materials/textures tab is turned on, I can see the loaded materials, and the style is set to realistic. Even when I choose the material option "select objects with this material", it selects them as if the material is applied. The material does not show up either on screen or when rendered.

I would like to change the scale of a base view on a drawing based on a parameter in my assembly. The idea is to get iLogic to change the view using a simple If / Else statement.
This is what I tried:

ActiveSheet.View("VIEW1").Scale = 1/8

ActiveSheet.View("VIEW1").Scale = 1/10

So basically the value of "BP" parameter (excel parameter in my assy) would drive the scale of the views. But its not working. Is it actually a sensible method? Can I use in the drawing environment the excel parameters in my assembly?
This is the error message I get when the rule is run:
"Error in rule: View Scale, in document: 0 Generic Assembly v2.2.idw
Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))"
Also using the same thinking I use iLogic to populate the drg number field on the drawing based on an excel parameter. The rule works but does not always updates the drawing no upon the parameter change or update/rebuild commands.
Mleader arrow head didn't change size when change the scale on Object property?
The Arrow head size didn't change corresponding to the scale, i included the pic below, the top picture, the arrow head was set at .18" but was really small when i plot out, so i wanted to make it bigger, when i changed to .50" or .75" or even 1" the arrow head became even smaller than .18". Only when .18" than the arrow side is legible

In AutoCAD Architecture 2012 we try to use the PDF Underlay to insert PDFs into our dwg files. We have problem to scale the pdfs correctly. We use metric units (mm) and when we insert our pdfs it scales to imperial units. For example, we have a pdf plotted from AutoCAD (or Revit) as an A1-sheet (841x594 mm) an insert it canceled to 1 the inserted pdf (image) get the size 33,11x23,39 which is the sheet size in inch. If the drawing is in 1:100 scale we would like to scale it up to 100 to get the correct scale in AutoCAD but it won't work.
I have tried insunits, insunitsdefsource, insunitsdeftarget but it has no effect.

So I've got a Construct that is the building model. I also have a View file for my 2D extracted elevations. I've just 'Refreshed' one of the elvations based on some updates I did to the construct model. But when the 2D elevation refreshed, it's surface hatching (roof tiles) scaled itself down considerably. What controls this? I need to have that hatching scale back up and don't know how.
I have a dwg template that has a Multileader Style that uses Annotative text. When I changed a viewport to a different scale....from 1"=1' to 3/4" =1', the text is not appearing to scale. It's very large. The Mtext changed to the correct scale but not the Multileader text. Where do I need to make a change?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 computers with Windows 7 OS and 2011 ACA installed with a custom profile set current. When I select annotative text, right click and select ADD/DELETE SCALE, the Annotation Scale dialog
box SHOULD open.... but it does not. I have this same profile set on other computers with Windows 7 and they are working fine. We have completely uninstalled ACA, wiped the registry clean, and reinstalled...
it's still doing the same thing. I can switch to the Out of the Box profile and the dialog box opens as it should. I'm not sure where to look within the profile for the issue since it's working on other computers.
I have Autocad Architecture 2014 installed on my office PC and Laptop.A drawing with a hatch pattern set to a scale of 1 on my laptop needs to be changed to a scale of 25.4 to look the same on my PC. Both versions of ACA are US metric.

I need the structural base drawing to keep the 10" text height because some times i have to print off the entire structural plan separate.
I'm trying to plot a simple site plan to PDF through the DWG to PDF.pc3 option.
The scale in my model space is 1-1 and in my viewport in paper space 1-200.
The issue is I plot to PDF, and then the scale is way out. For example an object that should be 10,000mm long in model space appears as 59mm (11,800mm scaled) on the PDF. And of course when I print from the PDF to a printer this scale error carries over.
I just installed autocad architecture 2012. when i opened it to start creating a new drawing/project the unit of measurement was in Millimeters.. i needed the Unit of measurement to be in architectural units, so i used the units command to change it to architectural units. the problem i am having now is that i think the Grid Scale is still in MM. when i tried to draw a line on the grid the line appeared to be tiny. the length of the line was 36'-5". i adjusted the scale to 1/4"=1' but that didnt change anything. in order to see the line that i drew i have to zoom in so much..
How do i adjust the grid scale to be the same as the units?
One of the guys here has created a title block which has a scale field in it, this field reads the scale at which the title block is brought in, by use of an invisible attribute (he used the block in model space so that's why I scale them up). When he xref the dwg into my main drawing all is fine and the scales are as they should be but when he prints, the scales all show 1:1 on the print and in the main drawing. Could this be due to the fact that the xref is brought in at 1:1? But we can't see why this would change it as the block is obviously still at e.g. 1:50 in the xref.

I have imported a ISO Shipping container but the scale is to large. How can I scale it down to architecture setting standard not metric. When I try to use the scale option all it does is makes it larger? I have not search yet do to time restrictions.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using ACA2013. I've been working on making a couple of custom schedule tags and have found what seems to be a bit of a glitch. I have the annotative scale set to 1'-0"=1'-0". Once I have the desired linework and attributes created, I have used the 'create tag wizard'. Once that is finished, the tag is inserted at a much smaller size than the linework I used - 1/10.6666. If I scale the linework and attribute text size by 10-2/3 prior to using the 'wizard' then the tag is created the correct size. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly or is that a glitch in ACA2013?

I've tried ltscale, psltscale and the actual linetype scale of the line to no avail. I'm sure this is a simple problem, i just cant work it out.

From 1/8" scale to 10' scale (96 to 120), the symbols by logic should appear
80% smaller, not larger.

I've been using AuroCAD long time ago back in school, and then I moved out to bentlye's microstation after I started working for Jacobs Eng. and now I have to get back to AutoCAD again. My question is how to get the revcloud and text and the revision diamond… and everything to be match with the drawing's size? coz we have stranded in microstation, that’s give you the right size for everything according to the sheet scale.

View 4 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately, a new project we have does not allow us to use annotative objects, so we are back to switching scale by creating several dimstyles with a varying dimscale (eg. Dim96, for 1/8", Dim48 for 1/4" etc.) Now I have created a button on the tool palette that brings in text and it allows me to set the size of the arrow by matching it to the dimstyle, but the text comes in always at the same size - 9" which is 3/32" for a 1/8" plan. The arrow changes but the text does not. I know I have to change the CANNOSCALE, but I can't seem to figure out a way of making it work so that the user will only need to switch the dimstyle from the pull down up at the top right and then be able to use a tool palette button that will bring in a text with leader with it's arrow head and text height matching the dimstyle scale.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently started using Architect 2012. We use Architectural Tick for dimensioning.
The problem is the Architectural Tick arrow is not coming in at the proper scale (Arrow head size = 3/32", dimscale varies). The arrow head seems to be out by a scale factor of 25.4 (found by trial and error).
If so is there a software patch or workaround. Can the Architectural Tick block be edited and if so where is it?
(using Windows 7 - 64bit)
I got the VBA code to access the dwg scale. I would now like to know how to change the dwg scale with VBA. How do I do that?
