View 2 RepliesMy question is if my team is working in one central model is it importmant to be using the same build number? Or does it "not matter"? I was once told it does matter so we are all using the same version of revit and minimizes errors from different builds.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to duplicate an exercise published in Revit Architecture 2012 Essentials (pp104-105, Figures 4.25 - 4.27). I'm obviously doing something incorrectly, but I can't get the two separately drawm roofs to join.
Would love to attach the file, but the simple drawing is 2.2MB when Zipped.
I'm having a technical question with a customers Revit Architecture 2012. The project he's working on is about 90 Megabytes in size, and the references are about 60MB. He is storing these on a network share. Unfortunately they are still on a 100MBit network. As Workstation he is using a DELL Precision M6500 (notebook) with the following specs:
when he is trying to zoom in on and out of this project, he is experiencing high waiting time between the zoom-steps, sometimes unbearably long. As the notebook is brandnew and tested I didn't blame it on faulty hardware. So I suggested to run the same Project on a different machine.
I don't know much about the software architecture of Revit Architecture, so i don't know which hardware component is mostly stressed when zooming in and out (guessing the gfx, because the project needs to be recalculated?). I guess there lies the bottleneck.The customer requested an answer, which hardware needs to be exchanged / upgraded in order to accelerate the zoom-steps, decrease the latency.
In Inventor 2011, where is the equivalent of "Help - about"? I want to check the build version number etc.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to build a wall that has the concrete block pattern that's offset by 1/2. If I build a wall using mass then I can make it into a pattern that I want but then I can't paint it so that's it's clear or see through. On the other hand if I build a wall just using the walls then I can't find an option for the block pattern.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to build a curtain wall panel family (see attached). I want the extremities of the solids to be glued to the surrounding frame. I want to be able to scale the model inside the frame with different curtain wall panel system sizes. 5'x4', 6'x8' etc... I am having problems with restricted constraints. I do not know what I am doing wrong. the model inside the panel are created from soild extrusions. if I align the solid extrusion from one side of the frame , only that side will grow or shrink with frame, and makes the model look weird. I tried to group the solids with reference lines in them glued to the reference line grid i created in the panel and that did not work. I want to be to scale proportionally the model inside the panel.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are using AutoCAD Architeucture 2010. We would like to be able to use exisitng room numbers for a renovation project. Currently the building has room numbers with letters in them, ie AS112, T112 or C112. Unforunately the letters change multiple times on 1 level. So we can not simply change the desigination on the construct level. how to do with with 'spaces' in AutoCAD Architecture?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI having problems trying to resolve a formula in the property definitions. I have a field that has USAGENO 060, 050 that the user inputs. But I would like to auto populate another field ROOMNAME with its corresponding text, to reduce input and avoid user error. The number always equals a room name as shown below.
060=Office
050=Lobby
I tried on the ROOMNAME field this but its not working. My field is set to formula.
=IF[USAGENO]=060,"Office",IF[USAGENO]=050,"Lobby"))
It seems to be set at 17 but I can't find a way to change it.
Autocad help is not useful at all as it says change the field to a user defined one, whilst not actually telling you how to do that.

I have a number of drawings of our facilities that have been added to and revised over the years prior to having an established standard. Most of the drawings are in 2d (lines, hatches, etc.) but portions of the the newer projects were done partially in ADT/ACA (walls, doors, windows, etc.). I need to strip out the 3D information and convert to 2D for an application we will be using. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have done the Save As, Export to, and AECOBJECTEXPLODE routes but all leave 3d faces that can't be exploded any furher. I don't wan't want to use hidden line projection as that creates a very large drawing as all hatches are converted to individual lines.
