It seems to be set at 17 but I can't find a way to change it.
Autocad help is not useful at all as it says change the field to a user defined one, whilst not actually telling you how to do that.
I am creating a set of parametric stairs. All of my constraints are in place for my 2 main work points. I am now trying to make an associative path array to depict the stair treads. Path array works great initially, however when I change my variables for stair height, my stair treads tilt with my work line in such a way that they're no longer parallel to the floor.
The angle of the stairs must be variable as it will change from one set of stairs to another. All that said, I am wondering if there is some variable or command that will make the treads retain their ucs orientation regardless of the angle of my path line. I've tried every option while creating the array with no luck.
Stair tread number tool is wonderful. BUT it is being not printed properly.

- 'on screen' on the left is taken from my screen. The numbers are shown correctly.
- 'after print' in the middle is a black&white pdf print by adobe pdf. you can see there is the last number missing.
- 'after print-random number missing' on the right is a coloured pdf print also by adobe pdf. several numbers are missing and it happened randomly.
I have a building with 2 levels & I have one stairwell. My 2 levels are in a shell.dwg - (first floor level & second floor level). I have a simple stair & landing, which is an element. I insert that element into the first floor level. Everything is fine there, but when I set up a view drawing with the shell (construct) & stair (element in construct) for the second level the stair is diplayed as if it is going up from the first floor level - I need it to show going down from the second floor level. Is there way to show that with one stair?
What we have done in the past is to not have levels, 1 construct for first floor & another for second floor - creating a stair styles for each floor. But when you do a model you have stairs on top of each other (not really using the software like we should). So my question is how do I have 1 stair for 2 different levels & show it correctly for each level. When I set my cut-plane height for first floor level - looks great, but when I set it second floor level - either it remains the same obviously or when I uncheck the override display config. in other on the display tab in the style the stair disappears. I'm trying a new way of creating models/plans & I can't think on how to create the stairs correctly. What am I missing in order to look correctly in plan view without making 2 stairs.
I'm just trying to put a wall under a stair and it seems like I can not succeed. Already tried with interference, body modifiers and trimming.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to SWEEP the yellow rectangle in this drawing along the magenta 3DPOLYLINE. This is a stair stringer for a winding stair I'm trying to model. The trouble is that when I SWEEP it the rectangle begins to rotate and ends up all out of whack once it gets to the top.
As I understand it, this is something that AutoCAD does not handle well and something like 3DsMax does. Problem is I don't have 3Ds Max and if I recall correctly there is a way to do this within AutoCAD. I just don't understand the SWEEP command options well enough. I've tried setting Align to No and Twist to the 270° that this thing runs, but each time I end up with the stringer rotated out of place.
how I keep the three risers shown in the image below, but extend the landings on the first and third run to avoid creating the angled corners. The angled corners show up when I manually edit the edges to bring the second run width down to match the first and third run width.
If I extend the landings, it tends to push one of the second run risers around the corner to the third run, and that screws up my design.
I have set up a view with a stair that goes from the first floor to the second floor. The stair has been asigned to the first floor level only. It appears as I want it in the view. However, when I drag the view into my sheet file, the stair disappears and only the path shows, without the individual nosings.

When I craeted them I could click on the Grip for a Linear Parameter that was associated with a Stretch Action and the current value would be displayed (Example: The width of a block). I could type in a new value and the block would stretch to that value. Something changed this week when I attempted to use my blocks. When I click on the Grip no dimension is displayed. The command line shows "Specify point location or [Base point/Undo/Exit]". I can drag the grip to change my block but I cannot simply type in a new dimension as before.

Is there a way to change the elevation of the cut line for an individual stair without changing the cut line for the entire view? The only way I know change the cut line is thru View Properties > View Range > Cut Plane.

We are using AutoCAD Architeucture 2010. We would like to be able to use exisitng room numbers for a renovation project. Currently the building has room numbers with letters in them, ie AS112, T112 or C112. Unforunately the letters change multiple times on 1 level. So we can not simply change the desigination on the construct level. how to do with with 'spaces' in AutoCAD Architecture?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a .psd picture of a tank and try to animate it in AE by rotating its wheels and tread (or track?). The only solution i have come up with is to slightly change tread layer's x and y positions in every frame, making it to vibrate. However it does not create rotation illusion which i'm after - the tread vibrates, but doeas not revolves around the wheels. If there are other solutions to make tread layer rotate around tank's wheels, i would be glad to hear about them. All 7 tank's wheels are separate layers and the tread layer is above them. The rest of the tank's layer is above tread layer

But I would like to auto populate another field ROOMNAME with its corresponding text, to reduce input and avoid user error. The number always equals a room name as shown below.
060=Office
050=Lobby
I tried on the ROOMNAME field this but its not working. My field is set to formula.

The Array command does not work in the same way like in previous versions and I find it difficult. Also the snap mode does not work propel y when no command is in process and no object is activated.

No chance to point the "first point". It is either 0,0,0 or the last coordinate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI navigate (all functions, pan zoom, etc) with my space explorer in autocad architecture 2011 any autocad command will be cancelled by the 3d mouse. when use the 3d mouse, the cursor in autocad changes to the default windows cursor display. I have an updated version of autocad 2011 with all of the service packages and hotfixes, the space explorer software driver is up to date too, windows 7 ultimate x64 is updated too.command line example:
Command: _line Specify first point: "I move the 3d mouse" Specify next point or [Undo]: *Cancel*

I tried reinstalling both autocad and 3dconnexion, restored the default settings of the 3d mouse. I also shutdown the logitech mouse software to make sure it was not interfering with anything. I also double checked that it was not a display refresh issue with the graphics card or the display settings for autocad, I also played with the profiles in the 3dx sofware.
I installed Aucad Architecture 2012 and same freaking issue. The only way to solve it "half way" (so not a real solution) is to change the visual style to other than 2d wireframe, but when doing so, whatever object you are manipulating seems to freeze on the screen and doesn't refresh untill you move the mouse (normal one), basicaly the manipulated object doesn't zoom with the rest of the objects in the screen.
This is very anoying since the purpose of these stuff is to create an uninterrupted worflow not the complete oposite!! this mouse is worth around 200-300 dolars and Autodesk took responsability for it's drivers!! and it doesn't work!! it's faster to work with your regular mouse. Also you should develop the driver version for the Autocad Mac version.
I have been using Architecture 2013 for a while now, but now there is what I beleve to be a configuration issue. Essentially, ACAD loads,but does not recognise any AEC components. The tool pallette no longer has an icon to add a wall, for example. If I load an older drawing that has a wall in it, and select the wall, the Properties window says it is a wall, but none of the blue grips is visible. Right clicking does not give the option to "Edit Wall Style" for example. It behaves as though it does not know what an Architecural element is. If it type "WALLADD" at the command line, it says ""Unknown Command".
The company I purchased it from initially had me do a "repair", then a "reinstall" and then a "Clean reinstall". All of which I have done.
I was using 2009 Architecture. I kept getting a message in the command line: "WARNING: Xdata tag 100 is missing" like hundred to 1000 times and while its scrolling through this same message in the command line I can not do anything but wait for it to finish. Not sure if a recent windows update has anything to do with it. I am using XP Pro. I have a Dell with 3GB of ram and a Radeon X300/X550/X1050 video card and am running dual monitors. I have an upgrade to Archtiecture 2010 so rather than reinstall 2009 I installed 2010. Unfortunately, same problem. In 2009 I seem to remember that it was more random. In 2010, it pops up when I do an xref reload.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI like the new feature in 2012 where I can type a couple of letters at the Command Prompt and get several commands to pick from but I would like to have the command alias back (for me) such as typing E and the Erase command would be there. I went to Express Tools and loaded the acad.pgp file; typed RE-INIT at command prompt but there was not change. Closed the program and restarted and still no change. When I type E, the first command is EATTEDIT. I don't see any of the aliases abbreviations. How do I get these to show up?

I recently downloaded the trial version of Autocad Architecture 2013. I changed my main customization file to aca.cuix so that I would have the build panel. The build panel is now there, but it is not working. All the icons are questions marks and when I click on the ceiling grid icon it says 'unknown command'. How can I get the ceiling grid function to start working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded to Autocad Architecture 2013 and the trim command is driving me mental. Lets say I have a window mullion pattern with 4 intersecting lines and I want to trim out the center. (see attached example) I start the trim command, then right to left window to select the 4 lines, then use another right to left selection window to trim out the lines. It always leaves on of the lines leaving me to have to click one more time. This is a huge pain when you have to do this multiple times. That is a lot of extra clicks. What gives? I never had this issue before.
