I recently downloaded the trial version of Autocad Architecture 2013. I changed my main customization file to aca.cuix so that I would have the build panel. The build panel is now there, but it is not working. All the icons are questions marks and when I click on the ceiling grid icon it says 'unknown command'. How can I get the ceiling grid function to start working?
View 2 RepliesI'm using AutoCAD 2008 and trying to make a smart ceiling grid using the tools palette. The tool runs fine, however my grid doesn't show up in my drawing. I checked all my layers and they're fine. I think my ceiling grid visibility display is turned off.
Any command to turn it on? Checked the product, it gives me options to turn it on/off when it's already visible in a view, but this doesn't work since I can't see it at all.
I tried inserting a ceiling grid, command started fine, usual prompts....enter & no grid.
I switched to the work tab, that has a 3-d view and there is the grid. I cannot find what I did alter its visibility in model space.

Is there an easy way to use space to generate a ceiling grid. My predicament is that when I create a space, the lines show up in Medium Detail and I have to switch to Reflected display configuration to see the grid. But when I am putting in the grid it asks me to choose the space, which is now not visible. Unless I change the display configuratiion, is there a way to pick the space while in the reflected display configuration.
Or better yet, is there a way to create a script that will toggle the space display on and off while in reflected.
I don't know why this isn't working for me today. I want to edit the Bay Size of my Ceiling Grid in one room. When I select the Grid..right click Properties and select the Bay Size, I can't seem to change the size.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Architecture 2013 for a while now, but now there is what I beleve to be a configuration issue. Essentially, ACAD loads,but does not recognise any AEC components. The tool pallette no longer has an icon to add a wall, for example. If I load an older drawing that has a wall in it, and select the wall, the Properties window says it is a wall, but none of the blue grips is visible. Right clicking does not give the option to "Edit Wall Style" for example. It behaves as though it does not know what an Architecural element is. If it type "WALLADD" at the command line, it says ""Unknown Command".
The company I purchased it from initially had me do a "repair", then a "reinstall" and then a "Clean reinstall". All of which I have done.
Revit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to add a ceiling grid to my rooms. I am using a hatch to do this. So I draw a polyline around my room and select the hatch net.
My hatch then displays at 600x600 within the room. The only thing I want is for the hatch to start from the center of the room and work outwards. This is so I have a center run of tiles and then they work outwards at 600mm each tile until they reach the outer wall and the last tile will be reduced equally at each side.
I'm trying to create a simple 2x4 ceiling grid hatch for layout planning, but AutoCAD keeps giving me an error when I try to use it.
Here's the custom hatch that I wrote at the very end of the acad.pat file:

0, 0,0, 0,48
90, 0,0, 0,24
When I load up ACAD, it shows the hatch in the selection, but after I've defined the area and I try to apply the hatch, I get this error in the command line:
Missing parameter on line 385.
Is there a setting to export the grid lines of ACT ceiling in a 3D view to DWG?
I don't know if there is because I can't even get the grid lines to show in a 3d view. Right now the view shows the ACT ceiling as a simple geometric shape.
I'm using Revit 2014 & have not been able to fade the ceiling grid lines so they don't plot out so heavy on my dwgs. I've tried overriding graphics of these grids with half tone which didn't work then I tried transparency & that did not work. They either stay on or turn right off!

I installed the language pack, on my original autocad 2013(Chinese) has the ribbon, and the "RIBBON"command works, but on my another language pack autocad 2013 (English) there is no ribbon and the"RIBBON" command does not work, tells me ribbon Unknown command "RIBBON".
Does the ribbon function not work on the language pack autocad one?
We are looking to upgrade from AutoCAD 2009 to V2012 and I have a copy for testing purposes.We have several custom commands linked to menu icons for added symbols such as a gate valve, ball valve etc.
Most of these use the following command

I've worked out that"V:/blocks/pefs/bfl is the location of the block drawing and is stored in #bname, the #prompt is set to tell the block (#bname) to break the line and insert, or, if nil instead of T, then just insert the block over the line. When I click on the icon when using AutoCAD V2012 I get
unknown command "BBLOCK"
but it works just fine in 2009. I can see no reference to BBLOCK and can only assume it is a variable of some sort. I've spent hours searching the forums to no avail.
I was told that I should download and install DWG compare plug-in to compare 2 dwg files. I have downloaded the file and installed it (at least I got the "successfully installed" message) but when I open AutoCAD LT 2013 it does not show up on the plug-ins tab and using the dwg compare command returns an "unknown command" response.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have this mysterious grid on my art board that appeared because I hit something accidentally. It is a mesh grid for some purpose. No clue what it is or how to get rid of it, let alone describe it. Remains after I turn the visibility of all my layers off. No selection tool will select it. Unknown cubic icon in upper left of art board. No apparent cues in Illustrator about what this is. Nothing in appearance panel. Lovely program, Adobe. I just upgraded from CS3 to CS6; not a feature in CS3.
The only solution I know is to create an entirely new document and cut and past may entire illustration into it.
I have AutoDesk 2013 install on my computer and when I use MVSETUP, "Unknown Command" show up.

TRMBIMPORTDATA Unknown command "TRMBIMPORTDATA (Or whatever command that had been issued)". Press F1 for help.
Another user in our office has everything in the Trimble Link work fine. We have tried upping my status to administrator for my computer, and that didn't work. When I installed CIvil 3D, I checked every button to be installed in the infrastructure design suite package....
[URL] Basically, when I accidentally input a typo into the command line there is a massive lag before AutoCad comes back to life. Nearly three seconds.
This happens on our AutoCad 2014 LT installations too.
I have all the predictive/corrective command line features turned off.
I have also uninstalled 360 and online content services, prior to the problem, to no avail.
Our office internet is proxied, and there are no ports opened for any Autodesk products.
It's losing us valuable seconds / minutes / days / weeks / months, depending on how you look at it.

I created a new mtext leader and it is set to one scale of 1/4" it shows fine in model space and paper space. Then when edit my drawings to try to add hatch or dim. there is a large text that appears in the background.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running AutoCAD 2012 (base version, but part of Mechanical install). Part of my .mnl file is set to run (command "cube" "off"). On one machine (Windows 7), it works fine. I'm temporarily on my laptop (Windows 8), & that portion no longer works.
If I type cube in the command line, it works fine. However, if I type (command "cube"), it says unknown command "CUBE".
My company upgraded our AutoCAD from 2007 to 2009 this past Monday. I'm getting an error message when trying to change the order of objects in model space.

I am using AutoCAD 2013 - Educational Version, and I want to convert my linework into a column grid. For some reason the COLUMNGRIDADD command is not being recognized by the program. When I type it in the command line, it just says Unknown Command.
Additionally, my Build Panel is missing from the ribbon, which is the other source for the column grid tools. I tried to reload or change the CUI, but so far this has not been successful.
Multiple times, when I have been working in a file, my cursor can no longer move smoothly over the drawing space. Istead, it moves as if it was in a grid and I can not move the cursor freely. The grid view is off so that is not the problem.
