Jul 4, 2013[URL] Basically, when I accidentally input a typo into the command line there is a massive lag before AutoCad comes back to life. Nearly three seconds.
This happens on our AutoCad 2014 LT installations too.
I have all the predictive/corrective command line features turned off.
I have also uninstalled 360 and online content services, prior to the problem, to no avail.
Our office internet is proxied, and there are no ports opened for any Autodesk products.
It's losing us valuable seconds / minutes / days / weeks / months, depending on how you look at it.

Dec 22, 2009After "copyclip" command -no matter you use ctrl+c or type into the command line- color of all lines inside "Layer 0" with By Layer color property change to White. Other layers and color remains the same. If I change color property of "Layer 0" form "By Layer" to a specific color such as red, yellow they are also remain the same.
I am using Autocad 2009 64 bit.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Drawing Arc At Unknown Angle To Vertical
Feb 22, 2013I'm new to AutoCAD and can't seem to find a solution. Essentially I'm trying to create an arc between two points on the X-Y plane and a point above (not directly above) in the Z direction.
Is there any way I can get an arc to snap between these three points? I guess I could calculate the angle of the plane this arc would lie on and then rotate the UCS to this angle, but this seems like a very long and inaccurate way of doing it. I've tried drawing an arc on the X-Y plane and then stretching the centre of it to the desired point above using the grips, but AutoCAD doesn't seem to want to allow this.

Apr 21, 2013I have a 3D file (not of my creation) that gives me some problems when I try to copy it (it is a 3D building).
The problem is that, when i click on "copy" command, I can select a point but then AutoCAD crashes and it takes about 30 seconds to return working a normal way and permit me to paste it. (it happens with "move" command too)
Otherwise, if I use "copy with base point" I have no problems: after a second I can paste it where I want.
How can it be possible? Cause if sometimes I mistake and digit "copy", I always have to wait the long Autocad response.
This problem happens with both autocad 2012 and 2013 and it doesn't happen with other 3D files I have. The drawing is made mainly of meshes.
I have a Dell notebook and a NVIDIA Quadro 2000M video card, so you can understand I don't like this problems: I spent a lot of money for something I hoped could work well with AutoCAD.
About that, aren't there drivers for the graphic card? Cause when I click on "check for updates", autocad says me that there are newer version of the driver, but then it says me that it is impossible to update it (I have a connession and a student version).
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Using Copy Command Within Drawing?
Jul 8, 2013Any issues when copying certain object within my drawing from one part of the drawing to another, after selecting the objects I want to copy, I select the destination point and I cannot see any of the objects that I am copying, the command stops working and then I cannot see any objects in my drawing at all....its like I am zoomed out all the way and nothing is in my drawing...I save the drawing as is (seeing nothing on my screen)...calling it up again and all my linework, etc. is there again...it has happened in two different drawings so far within the last few months, and these dwgs. are not linked to each other at all....

Nov 1, 2013how to add macros to my ACAD 2014 to count blocks, I managed to lose the "copym" command while trying to figure how to create a button in the user interface found in the ribbon bar under the customization tab...when I type copym into the command line, it wants to prompt me to finish the command string using the command "copymode" and doesn't even see that the command "copym" even exists in the list that is created. (the list that's created by an autocomplete function)
I found the command in the list while making a pull down menu item selection button for "copym" utilizing the user interface in the ribbon. I drug the command info for "copym" to the menu bar using the user interface feature. The command is there, all the info seems to be correct, I even managed to make a menu selection for it in the pull down menu. But when I select that menu item, the command line says: UNKNOWN COMMAND "COPYM" Press f1 for help.
I think I accidentally deleted something, just wondering how I can get my "copym" command function back into AutoCAD from never-never land.

I want to paste text (numbers) into the command line as I am drawing a line.
In AutoCad 2011/2012 if I paste (CTRL+V), then the numbers in the clipboard will be pasted into the command line and all I have to do is push enter.
In AutoCad 2014 if I paste (CTRL+V), AutoCad will paste the clipboard contents as an mtext object into the drawing.
How do I change the behavior of AutoCad so that I can use "CTRL+V" in the command line?
For clarification these are the exact steps I am trying to do:
1. {type L}
2. {click a point in the drawing}
3. {type CTRL+V} // paste a number as a distance into command line
4. {type ENTER}
I know I can right click the command line and select paste. This option is unnacceptable for my use. I want to be able to CTRL+V text into the command line.

& tossed the copied objects out in model space accordingly. But as stated it only does this periodically.

Apr 27, 2012I have always used the "XLIST" command to name the layer of x-refed objects. However, when I now enter the command, it says "Unknown command 'xlist.'"

Dec 17, 2013We are looking to upgrade from AutoCAD 2009 to V2012 and I have a copy for testing purposes.We have several custom commands linked to menu icons for added symbols such as a gate valve, ball valve etc.
Most of these use the following command

I've worked out that"V:/blocks/pefs/bfl is the location of the block drawing and is stored in #bname, the #prompt is set to tell the block (#bname) to break the line and insert, or, if nil instead of T, then just insert the block over the line. When I click on the icon when using AutoCAD V2012 I get
unknown command "BBLOCK"
but it works just fine in 2009. I can see no reference to BBLOCK and can only assume it is a variable of some sort. I've spent hours searching the forums to no avail.

I have downloaded the file and installed it (at least I got the "successfully installed" message) but when I open AutoCAD LT 2013 it does not show up on the plug-ins tab and using the dwg compare command returns an "unknown command" response.

Jul 6, 2012I have been using Architecture 2013 for a while now, but now there is what I beleve to be a configuration issue. Essentially, ACAD loads,but does not recognise any AEC components. The tool pallette no longer has an icon to add a wall, for example. If I load an older drawing that has a wall in it, and select the wall, the Properties window says it is a wall, but none of the blue grips is visible. Right clicking does not give the option to "Edit Wall Style" for example. It behaves as though it does not know what an Architecural element is. If it type "WALLADD" at the command line, it says ""Unknown Command".
The company I purchased it from initially had me do a "repair", then a "reinstall" and then a "Clean reinstall". All of which I have done.

The build panel is now there, but it is not working. All the icons are questions marks and when I click on the ceiling grid icon it says 'unknown command'. Oct 19, 2012We installed 2013 version of Autodesk Civil3D, and strange things with Copy/Paste from one drawing to another happend!
If I try to copy some autocad objects like solid HATCH for ex,. from one file to another - I select drawing copy from, select Hatch, press Ctrl+C or rightclick > Clipboard > Copy, then select destination drawing, press Ctrl+V or rightclick > Clipboard > Paste, and I see in command window:
" _pasteclip Duplicate definition of block _Closed ignored.Duplicate definition of block _DotBlank ignored."The time interval is very long for single hatch copying.
I tryed audit/purge, and copying the HATCH again, - and now I see in destination drawing some strange array of LINE obects, it is not my HATCH! AutoCAD always starts do temporary save while doing this copy.
Else, if I open new two pure drawings, and start copy any types of acad objects between each other, so all works fine and quickly, no temporary saves, only remarkable pause starts above 20000 object copying, its quite acceptable for me, and still shorter time, than copy a single HATCH.
I suppose the problem is in drawing file, because if we make purge/audit than save and reopen drawing - sometines is it possible to copy, but after all we need to do this each time we want to copy acad objects to another file. This annoying issue have our another team members too, it prevents to do our job.
I found, that with HATCH object some blocks is ALWAYS copying from one file to another.

Oct 23, 2013I am using Civil 3D 2014. When click any of the buttons in the Trimble Link Ribbon, I get the following message:
TRMBIMPORTDATA Unknown command "TRMBIMPORTDATA (Or whatever command that had been issued)". Press F1 for help.
Another user in our office has everything in the Trimble Link work fine. We have tried upping my status to administrator for my computer, and that didn't work. When I installed CIvil 3D, I checked every button to be installed in the infrastructure design suite package....

Jan 13, 2013When I use copy or copy with base point and paste or paste to original coordinates in another drawing, nothing is being copied.
I use autocad 2013
The isuue is dwg related. It only happens when i paste to some of my dwg (usualy the most important ones...). All the drawing files that are affected are in 2013 format, but if i save them to older version the problem persist.
I ve tried
-purge r, purge a, audit, save
-wblock explode, purge a, audit, save
to no avail.
Tried many other solutions sa well, but nothing worked. What on earth could be wrong with DWG to prevent pasting from another drawing? Those drawings have been saved to lower formats before.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Copy And Paste As Block In Drawing?
Oct 11, 2013I have had this issue in 2013 and now after downloadign 2014 the same problem has come up. Drawing is fine other than every so often after you copy a group of items and try to paste it as a block it thinks for about 10-15 seconds then when you are prompted to enter a base point it doesnt show up. I can however select items, copy, and paste as long as it is not a block. I have tried to copy and paste a block that consists of just two polylines so I know it is not a size issue. To add more confusion if I shut down my computer and restart open the same file and try to copy and paste the same item as a block it will allow me to do it once and then it wont work again. I have attached a screenshot of the command history while trying to paste as block. I am not sure why it substitued all of these items? I dont need to shut down and restart everytime I need a new block inserted.

I open new drawing, then press Ctrl+Shift+C to copy an object with a base point and then when i press Ctrl+V nothing shows.
It says Command: _pasteclip, but there is no object attached to the cursor to paste.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Align Command - Coordinates Exported Are Different To Those In Drawing
Nov 19, 2013I am using the ALIGN command to overlay two groups of blocks, I'm then using some VBA code to export the coordinates of the blocks to an excel sheet to make comparisons.
The issue I'm having is when I use the ALIGN command the coordinates exported are different to those in the drawing (but only for those moved using the ALIGN command).
I don't get this issue when I use the move, rotate and mirror commands, only ALIGN. What may be causing this?

Jun 1, 2012I don't understand why the right click - open drawing command had to be put in a submenu. Is there a way to customize the commands on these right click menus other than the marking menu? I don't really like the marking menu, and I don't want to put it there. There was nothing wrong with where it was... There are so many commands in the basic right click menu that a good majority of inventor users don't use. At least give us the ability to customize this.
