AutoCAD Architecture :: Multiple Open Windows Don't Retain Relative Ordering In 2014
Jun 13, 2013My problem is similar to the "send behind"/"bring to front" commands that you use when you're drawing. But my issue is this: what wastes a lot of time for me in the new program is when I try to work in multiple windows at once. (Btw, we don't have large screens to work with here.) Usually what I'll do is have, say, three or four windows up at a time, none of which are maximized, and usually have two that I'm working on side by side, with the remaining one or two sitting in the background. I also keep a lot of windows active, and minimized, so that's not the answer I'm trying to find. I work mostly in model space if that makes any difference, though I don't think it should.
Now, not only do the borders of each of my windows get all sorts of funky screen images on them when I move them around (mildly amusing but not annoying), but what really grinds my gears is that the orientation, or layering, or what-have-you, of the windows that I have active and open in the background is not retained. Let's say I have X-1 and A-1 up front and center, and I have A-3 and A-4 in the background. Let's say I had moved A-3 to sit on top of A-4 before I started working on the X-1 and A-1 sheets. Now, in the 2013 version, if I'd slide X-1 or A-1 out of the way, I'd see A-3 sitting right there on top, all happy and pretty where I left it.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Cannot Open Drawings From Previous Releases In 2013 Running On Windows 8
Jan 7, 2013I have ACA 2013 (student version) running in the Windows 8 environment. I cannot open anything drawn in a previous release nor can I open a drawing created in ACA 2013 that was installed on the Windows 7 platform.
I have tried to drag in the drawings through design center. That worked for a while now when I try that it causes ACA to crash. Also I have tried multiple drawings that were created in several different versions of ACA. (2004, 2006 and 2009)
As a side note I was able to open those files in ACA 2013 running on the Windows 7 OS.

It was there yesterday until I quit ACA, where did it go?
Did Autodesk install a virus that deletes the Ribbon after a predefined number of uses? It doesn't make any difference which workspace is invoked it is not there. In Document it is just completely gone and typing ribbon at the command line brings up the "This Ribbon..." as is the case in all the other workspaces. How does this happen?

Apr 25, 2011ve seen many posts about this type of error, however, I do not see how to correct this in 2012. I am operating 2012 architecture in Windows 7 through VMware on an IMac. I have run 2010 and 2011 on this machine without this issue but now 2012 has this issue. I check Performance Tuner Log and the 3d device is VMware SVGA 3D.

Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

Oct 9, 2013We have a problem with Autodesk 360 tab in AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD. We have created two deployments. One for AutoCAD Architecture and one for AutoCAD. In both deployments we have choosen not to install Autodesk 360. We edited the ini file as told in this thread [URL] ..., and it works fine. However now we want to install Autodesk 360 for som users. We installed via AdSync.msi in the cloudsync folder and the 360 client was installed. The problem is that The 360 tab in AutoCAD still is grayd out and ther is no 360 tab in options.
We even tried to install with the original ini file but with no luck.

A look around the AD site shows all the apps for the App Store and Google Play but not Windows Phone. I use a bunch of AD apps on my iPad and iPhone that are a "must have" now. A quick Google search brings up a bunch of articles but I haven't seen anything definitive from AD. AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Autodesk Ignorance For Windows 8 Support
Mar 14, 2013I started using AuoCAD Civil 3D 2013 on my windows 8. It is crashing a few minutes after opened. When I run it in the mode "Civil 3d as Autocad" everything works ok, but I can only visualise and plot the drawing and move the labels.
First, I thought that I had a problem with my PC so I tried googling this issue, updating my version to SP1 but nothing got fixed. Throught my research on the web It seems that mostly of Windows 8 users are facing problems using Autodesk products on their computers especially whem my co-worker was facing such a similar issue on running both of AutoCAD 2012 and Revit 2013 on his windows 8 and I can not describe how much did we got annoyed for such problem and the circumstances for not able to complete our work tasks using Autodesk products.
The point is how Autodesk is going to give a final solution to Windows 8 incomptability issues. Will be there anything further or it is just Windows 8 users are forced to leave their operating system and back for older one without any incomptaibilty issues like Windows 7?

Aug 5, 2012Have been using ACA 2013 all last week (normally do most of my work with Revit) and this time its been used intensively since install. I noticed that Autdesk 360 was doing allot of syncing. Drawings are open all of the time so the syncing activity is continuous.Then I found that over the last week broadband useage generally is clocking up to 11Gb per day (I get 60 per month), other browsers were slow and I think I have traced the problem to Autodesk 360 - it stoppped as soon as I disconnected from the cloud. It seems there is a huge amount of up and down stream data - turn 360 back on and the router lights start flashing furoiously. The cloud storage is less than 1Gb.

When they restarted and browsed in Windows explorer, all the Autodesk icons have been replaced by a generic icon. We tried to reset by re-establshing the file association and that did not work.
How do we rebuild the Autodesk icon cache on these machines?

It seems that whenever someone is working in a file from the network that has the plan xrefed into it and the plan is opened to be modified by another user the windows and doors randomly detach from the walls. We're getting tired of going back in and reanchoring them.
