Windows Explorer set to open image files with PSE11, but when I double click on image in WE it launches PSE11, but I then need to click on Open tab in PSE11 to get it into work window. PSE10 did not have this problem

Previously I used to select files using graphical file explorer.
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently I installed an update to Corel X6 after I had updated CS6 of Photoshop. Now despite choosing Photoshop as the default application, jpgs open in Acrobat.
Just choosing Photoshop as the default application doesn't change anything. They still open in Acrobat unless I first start Photoshop and open the file I want.
Since upgrading to LR 3.6 I am unable to export .jpg photos from Windows Explorer directly into Lightroom 3. I always use to be able to right click on any photo and 'open with' Lightroom 3 (.exe) before this upgrade.
Also, in the library files I could do the same with my RAW photos - i.e. right click on one of them and 'open with' the LR3 icon in the list, but am unable to do this now.
I know I can open up LR3 and import the photos, but I simply prefer going into Windows Explorer to pick and choose the ones I want. My OS is Win 7.
Is it possible to display the default windows explorer folder tree in the open dialog box instead of the current "Libraries" folder?

I can work on picture as expected.But during the day, Photoshop doesn't want to open other file (any other file).I can continue to work on a picture that still open and can save it, but I can not open anything else.
Restart Photoshop doesn't work. I must reboot the computer to correct this and open other file.I'm on windows 7 SP1 with administrator rights..No plugin installed.
When press "open" the "open"-window dosn't open. Insted it open a comandpromt by the cursor that promt me to enter full search-way and name on the file I want to open.
What can i do to get the "open"-window?
if i try and to open a new file or save as a current file, the windows box does not open. the command line does populate asking for file name, etc, but obviously is very tedious to navigate windows folders with a command line!
any obvious changes that would prevent windows folder dialogue box not to open?
I have recently build a frame structure using the frame generator. Now i wish to change some beams to other positions which is fairly easy. The only problem i have is when I click on the insert frame button the selection window does not appear. the function does work but it is like working in the dark

In File Options > File Types I have JPG set to open up in Photoshop CS4; alas, when JPG files are either in Outlook as attachments or on the desktop, nothing happens when I double click them. My workaround is to drag the file icon into CS4, and this only works from the desktop, not from Outlook.

I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.
