My PSE 12 download and the Catalog worked fine for two days but something changed and it now only opens videos, not photos. I've tried "reconnecting" with no change. I suspect I need to replace the catalog. I have full backups with TLY and BUC files on external hard drives but I'm past my skill level to proceed.
View 2 RepliesWhen I try to do a full back up my catalog in PSE 11, I get the error message "Your system is low on disk space, and Elements Organiser cannot perform this operation". My catalog is 9GB, and my C drive has 94GB free, and my external D drive 204GB. I run under Windows 8.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter installing PSE 11, it asks to do a Full Catalog Backup. After selecting and starting the backup it goes to 92% complete and then hangs and the application crashes. Tried several times, same result.
I have installed it in my desktop running WIN 8 Release Preview Eval copy (Build8400) 64 bit.
I always use LR in full screen mode. But every time I open it, it always opens in the collpsed small window mode. Never the full screen way I closed it. Is this designed in, or is there a setting someplace I just have not found?

However, when I open my photos( I have a Canon Rebel T2i so the file extension is .CR2), it says, "processing Camera RAW file" and then opens the photo in the full edit mode instead of the Camera RAW dialog box. I checked my plug-in, and I have version 6.7 of the Camera RAW plug in. I'd really like to start working with Camera RAW! Oh, and I am working abroad for a couple months and do not have my installation disks with me, so uninstalling and re-installing PSE is not an option.

My previous version (PSE 6) would re-open all files that had been open when I quit the app last time, but this version always opens with a blank screen. No picture selected for editing out of iPhoto shows up in Photoshop Elements 11 (trial version) even though Photoshop Elements is opening when selecting a picture for editing with external editor in iPhoto. Does this have to do with the trial version of PE 11?

The catalog is named My Catalog 2 is located at C:ProgramDataAdobeElements OrganizerCatalogsMy Catalog 2. It is the only catalog I use and is the one that opens up when I launch Organizer. But, for the life of me, I can't get it to show up in the Catalog Manager. The only catalog that shows up is the original catalog which is at a different location and was created when I installed PSE11 on my new computer (Thinkpad W530, Windows 8). I've tried the Custom Location option and browsing to the location, but still no dice. This catalog has thousands of pictures and was converted from my previous PSE6 catalog. How do I get the Catalog Manager to find my current active catalog?
When building the first catalog, is there a way to prevent Lightroom from scanning everything connected to the computer?
I want it to scan ONE folder, something without a few hundred thousand TIFF and RAW image files (along with various copies of each of them in full and low res versions of JPG & PNG).
When press "open" the "open"-window dosn't open. Insted it open a comandpromt by the cursor that promt me to enter full search-way and name on the file I want to open.

The .r3d files are 5K from an Epic.
when I exercise the opacity slider for an active layer I can see the full range of opacity follow the setting. Somehow I've gotten this v2.6 on a Linux box into a mode where the visible opacity doesn't follow the slider full range. Instead it is all or nothing. At 50% or less opacity the layer is entirely transparent and at 50.1% or more it is entirely opaque.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed / upgraded to CS5.1, set up all my preferences, keyboard shortcuts, presets, plugins. All worked fine, day in - day out, for the last three weeks. About three days ago this anomaly appeared...
When I zoom in (cmd +/), the window will resize, but only part way. The window will move over flush right on the monitor, but leave about one inch of space between the window and the left side of the monitor, and increase in size until it fits aprox 2/3rds of the monitor / screen. It stops enlarging and leaves about 3 inches of space between the window and the bottom of the screen. At that point I get scroll bars. So I end up with a much smaller window to work in.
I can grab the bottom right corner of the window, pull it open to fill the screen, but as soon as I go to zoom in or out, the window jumps back to the smaller size with the gap on the left side and bottom.
Option bar is "Standard Screen Mode"
All my pallets are on a separate monitor, so nothing else is on my main monitor that would limit the size of my window as I zoom in.
My preferences are set to:
• Zoom Resizes Windows
• Enable Flick Panning (works fine)
• Animated Zoom
OS 10.5x
10GB ram
I don't know if I inadvertently changed something to cause this.
I've been working with Canon .CR2 files and later Adobe .dng files for years, and could always open them in Photoshop. Now, with PS CC, the files open as small previews (420 x 280 px) instead of the full size. This means I cannot work with my photographs!

When i click the ok box in the message it closes the program down. How do I change the prefernces if the program will not open?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had some trouble with my hard drive and needed to restore about 35000 photos. Sorting through them I imported all the recovered files into a new "Recovered" catalog. That works fine.
When I tried to import this catalog into my previous catalog it imports the photos fine but doesn't render any previews. Not in small batches, nothing. The progress bar just stays put at 1 of .... If I take the photo to the Develop module it will load and render a preview after a few seconds. But this can only be done one at a time and is very laggy.
I've had similar issue with this catalog before: no previews rendered on import. Except now it's a giant batch and it can't be processed manually.I'm on Lightroom 4.0
Why does Lightroom not "see" the photos from my catalog since the latest update? Ever since the latest update it says file not found but I can open and work on the photos in other programs. How do I get the prgoram to "see" my photos again?
