Photoshop :: Installation Cannot Continue Until Internet Explorer Closed
May 28, 2013I am attempting to install Photoshop CS3 on a new computer. I keep getting the message that the installation cannot continue until Internet Explorer is closed. I have tried disconnecting the internet, WiFi, Bluetooth. I still get the same message.

Mar 3, 2011the time I use the color picker in Photoshop suddenly IE opens the Photoshop help in a separate window. Am I clicking on something? All I seem to be clicking on is the box of color ranges in the color picker. I thought the Photoshop help was supposed to open if you click on the Photoshop eye on the toolbar, which isn't in CS4.

Jun 19, 2012I need my colleagues and customers to view some of the models I create, and be able to manipulate them.
No matter how much I ask, they ar not going to download a viewer - they just throw up their hands and say "can't, shan't won't". So I end up having to take numerous screen dumps and print, which in reality are much less useful.
I have seen components by some of our suppliers (though I cannot find an example now) online and viewed in Internet Explorer where I can view, manipulate, and even section their 3d models without needing to worry about viewers.
How this can be achieved with Inventor Assemblies?

Aug 21, 2013Since i have all kinds of Autodesk products on my computers, i didn't notice this. But a third party programmer (not for CAD) mentioned that IE10 does not open DWGs like its predecessors IE9, IE8 and IE7 did. Is she talking about DWFs or did IE actually read DWG files?

AutoCAD Inventor :: IDW And DWG Files Launching Blank Window In Internet Explorer
Jun 25, 2013Inventor 2013 and DWG trueview and Inventor View 2013 (or 2014) on a windows 7 computer.
Trying to launch files from an Intranet site. The files always want to come up in a browser window.
In windows XP, I was able to go into File Types and override this by specifying the program (sometimes).
In Windows 7 the File Types have been redone.
I want these files to launch in their respective programs ( .dwg files in trueview, .idw files in Inventor View).
Things I've tried:
Resetting internet explorer settings.
Disabling all addons
Changing security settings to low

Oct 3, 2012I'm tracing some site plans off Google Maps. Currently I have been using print screen, saving the file, and inserting a raster image then tracing over that. That is very time consuming and a real pain in the neck when I need multiple close up shots to get the detail I need. I also would like to do this to get accurate spot elevation information transferred from Google Earth to my AutoCAD drawings.
Is there a way to make Internet Explorer or Google Earth translucent such that I can still see the ghosted image of the map over AutoCAD, but be working in AutoCAD, not Google?

Apr 3, 2013When opening a parcel (xml) report created from AutoCAD Civil3D 2012, Internet Explorer 10 displays message stating "internet explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or activex controls."
In Internet Explorer 9, we would previously just click "allow blocked content" and the General Legal Description dialogue box would work correctly, collapse, expand, show information when buttons are clicked, etc. The attached file does function properly with IE9, but not IE10.
After upgrading to IE10, the General Legal Description Dialogue box will not collapse, expand, the dropdown buttons will not function properly, and information is not displayed correctly after clicking "allow blocked content"
I am assuming there is a new security feature in IE10 that will not allow the script/activex control to function properly in the .html file that was created. I have reduced Security levels in IE10, and also changed settings under Tools > internet options > advanced > checked boxes: "allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer," "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer," and "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid." and restarted computer. This did not change the issue as stated above. I have also opened the html file in IE 10 64-bit and firefox, and still get the same results.
Attached is the file I am troubleshooting with. I have changed the file extension to .txt. If you download the file, just change it back to .html extension.

Dec 5, 2012I just bought PSE 11 and have installed it on my computer. I am trying to right click on a file and use the "Open With" option to open the jpg in the program. However, the program opens but not the photo. I can open files within the program by going to "File - Open" just fine. The program that is on the "Open With" list isn't the right one (it's Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 rather than PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe). However, when I try to browse to and select the correct file it doesn't show up when I get back to the "Open With" screen. I've tried uninstall and reinstall. I've also tried using the program on another user and it works fine there but I don't want to switch all of my info to another user just to open photos. Photos open just fine in PSE 9 with the "Open With" method.

Just choosing Photoshop as the default application doesn't change anything. They still open in Acrobat unless I first start Photoshop and open the file I want.

Lightroom :: Cannot Open With LR3.6 From Windows Explorer
Feb 12, 2012Since upgrading to LR 3.6 I am unable to export .jpg photos from Windows Explorer directly into Lightroom 3. I always use to be able to right click on any photo and 'open with' Lightroom 3 (.exe) before this upgrade.
Also, in the library files I could do the same with my RAW photos - i.e. right click on one of them and 'open with' the LR3 icon in the list, but am unable to do this now.
I know I can open up LR3 and import the photos, but I simply prefer going into Windows Explorer to pick and choose the ones I want. My OS is Win 7.
Photoshop :: Merge To HDR Pro Causes CS6 To Stop Working
Jul 7, 2012Having a problem which is easy enough to replicate when using Merge to HDR Pro ... either directly from within CS6, from LR4 or from Bridge it is causing CS6 to stop working.
What happens is that if you are using Merge to HDR then switch to another application causing Merge to HDR to lose focus eventually it will not recover and the Cancel/OK buttons are greyed out and not available. It never recovers from there.
Typical symptoms where Merge to HDR stops working (and therefore CS6) are the following:
- Any sliders that had been adjusted prior to this happening are available to change, others are not;
- Any sliders that are greyed out can still be returned to their default value by double-clicking on the slider.
Photoshop has to be 'killed' before it can be used again.These symptoms are repeatable in the 32 bit version of CS6, the more files that are merged the quicker it happens. For example if you start with the "Photorealistic" preset and have 3 files open (opended using Camera Raw, Canon 5D mkII CR2 files therefore ProPhoto RGB; 16 bit; 5616 by 3744 (21.0MP); 300ppi) it happens withing a couple of times switching to other applications and back but with 9 files open it will happen faster.
And it also happens with AdobeRGB (8bit), ProPhotoRGB (8bit) and sRGB (8bit).Happens from both x64 and x32 systems. The environment is follows:

Feb 18, 2008I have three machines with this same issue. XP pro fresh install of everything, OS, PS CS2, LR 1.3, etc. All updates. I found this problem related to someone updating PS from CS to CS2, but not for a fresh install. I had this same problem before my most recent XP reformat too-I reformat my machines about once a year.
I can't run a droplet on more than 25 images at a time. I have tried multiple combinations of file/folder/droplet locations. Running the droplets from LR 1.3.1 does the same thing. Running from Bridge also will not work. It works fine for a few images, but not for 50 or 100 or more.

The problem is:
From within Windows Explorer, I can only open 1 Illustrator file at a time. To get a different file to open, I either have to drag and drop the second file into the tabs under the menubar, or I need to quit Illustrator and re-open it. Also, I can not open additional files from Explorer one-at-a-time if one is already open.
Quirks:
If I go to File -> Open I can select multiple files from within the Open File dialogue window and they open just fine. but i can't do it from within windows explorer.This used to work and now it doesn't.
Seriously? 137 views and no replies? No one has run into this before?

Mar 9, 2013I was retouching a painting earlier and i could not get every detail because my adjustment layers stopped allowing me to paint on the mask.
I switched from ps v13 and v12 and niether would allow me to paint on the mask. All of the correction i did were on adjustment layers. I would add an adjustment layer and tweak it then invert the mask and then paint with the brush. Then i would merge layers. After about 4 merges it stop allowing the painting on the mask.
