I cannot connect with Flickr for photo sharing, message says I may have a firewall blocking connection to internet, I have disables firewalls but still cannot connect.
View 6 RepliesI have been trying to share some photographs to my Flickr account but have ran into problems. When I select the pictures and click on share to Flickr, none of my pictures appear in the share box to upload. I have tried this multiple ways, with sharing and then selecting the pictures and also by selecting and then sharing to no avail. I currently have a 30 day trial and am not certain if that is the reason why it is not working? I want to make sure that this feature works before I actually buy the program as I am in the process of scanning, editing and uploading 1000s of old photographs for family members. I have the Elements 12 and am using Windows 7.

I have attempted to check all internet settings in my Google Chrome browser and in the Windows firewall I have included it as an "Allowed Connection". Still no joy, unable to connect and of course no updates?

I have been trying to set up Flickr in Lightroom 4 Publish Services but get an error message when I press "OK, I'll Authorise it" on the Flickr authorisation page. The message is "The address wasn't understood. Firefox dosen't know how to open this address".
View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I tried to export photos to Flickr and I got an error. I also tried to export to Facebook and failed. I tried to check for updates to the plugins and I could not connect to the update server. I checked maps and the program reported that they were offline. I am not having a problem connecting to the Internet with any other program. Spoitfy, Chrome, and Evernote all working fine.
This started today. It was fine last week. I have tried quitting LR4 as well as rebooting my computer. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I searched the forums and I saw similar problems mentioned, but no solutions.
In Lightroom 5 I can not connect to the internet, even when I know the internet is working properly in other apps.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to export photos to Flickr using the Flickr publish service. When I try to log in to Flickr in order to authenticate my account, I get the error message "Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection." Similarly, I have tried to use Jeff Friedl's "Export to Flickr" plugin. When I try to enable this plugin, Lightroom can't contact Flickr - I get the error message "cannotconnectToHost", and Lightroom just keeps retrying to connect with no success.
I have Internet access, and can log into Flickr without any problems using my browser.
I live in a university dorm which requires a proxy server to connect to the internet. Everything else (browser, torrents, skype) all seem to work fine through this connection however I get various error messages when trying to publish, or check or an update in Lightroom.
I'm almost certain it has something to do with the connection because I don't get any of these problems when using another internet source. There don't seem to be any proxy or internet connection settings in Lightroom.
I am trying to use the Share function from Elements Organizer to share photos with my Flickr account. However, I get an error message each time I try: "Online Services encountered an error. The service will now be terminated or paused if possible. (Error 6: mResponse.IsValis())
I've seen other posts noting the error when trying to share with Flickr, Facebook, Samgmug, etc. but have not seen a good explanation of how to resolve. I'm running Elements Organizer 12.0 on a Mac with OS X 10.8.5.

Bought the box version of Elements 12. Received serial number. However, Elements does not recognize my internet connection and will not let me register. So after the trial period I can't use the program. Every other program on my computer that uses the Internet connects flawlessly.

I could most definately have missed some setting that needs changed but don't know which one apparently. I get the message when trying to send a photo email, "Elements 11 organizer has stopped working. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop (Windows 7) and a laptop (windows 8), both are running Elements 8. I plan to share photos and catalog between them with no duplication of data.
An external harddrive was attached to the desktop, photos were downloaded, a catalog was created, photos were imported - all worked fine.
I detached the ext drive from the desktop and attached it to the laptop with the same drive letter as used on the desktop. The custom location of the catalog was set to point to the catalog on the ext drive. When I tried to open this catalog, I got the message: "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt, or the version is out of date and cannot be updated" I moved the ext drive back to the desktop and it worked OK, as before.
I then set up a working version of elements on the laptop by:
1. Backing up the catalog on the desktop and restoring it to the laptop.
2. Copying the photos from the desktop to the laptop.
3. Reconnecting the photos to the catalog.
Adobe then worked fine on the laptop using the restored catalog.
But, this is not what I want to do. I want to have ONE catalog and ONE set of photos on an ext drive which can be plugged into either computer.
Whilst trying to fix another problem by clearing the online service data, the option to post content onto Facebook , You Tube etc via the Share button has disappeared. How do I restore this functionality? I have tried restoring default settings and uninstalling and re-installing without success.

I Installed Elements and added a few photo's to a folder in the root of the hdd, and tinkered a little. Discovered that the auto-created catalog was buried in the user/username path, not appropriate for multiple users, I thought.
So backed up catalog to external drive, then restored it to the folder that I'd previously added the photos to, viz HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog. This works absolutely fine for me, as I set it up.
When the other user starts Elements and goes Catalog Managent and browse to Other Locations: HD/ALL PHOTOS/ and is able to select 'My Catalog' and Open. She then gets the message "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt or the version is out of date"
Both usaers have R&W permissions. Both users are definately pointing at HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog.

Can I share my notes in properties in PSE7 with windows XP picture and fax viewer? I like to create caption, notes, comments in PSE7 on photos but when I look in windows XP picture viewer I do not see any of this information I would like to see any one of these things.
