Photoshop Elements :: Sharing Photos To Flickr
Mar 7, 2014
I have been trying to share some photographs to my Flickr account but have ran into problems. When I select the pictures and click on share to Flickr, none of my pictures appear in the share box to upload. I have tried this multiple ways, with sharing and then selecting the pictures and also by selecting and then sharing to no avail. I currently have a 30 day trial and am not certain if that is the reason why it is not working? I want to make sure that this feature works before I actually buy the program as I am in the process of scanning, editing and uploading 1000s of old photographs for family members. I have the Elements 12 and am using Windows 7.

I am trying to use the Share function from Elements Organizer to share photos with my Flickr account. However, I get an error message each time I try: "Online Services encountered an error. The service will now be terminated or paused if possible. (Error 6: mResponse.IsValis())
I've seen other posts noting the error when trying to share with Flickr, Facebook, Samgmug, etc. but have not seen a good explanation of how to resolve. I'm running Elements Organizer 12.0 on a Mac with OS X 10.8.5.

Just loaded PS Elements v11. Have used PS Elements v7-9 previously. When sharing photos using e-mail (comcast.net) as attachments and photo mail, I was able to enter a message to recipient before sending the e-mail. In Elements 11, in area where text can be entered, I cannot get a cursor to type a message. The phrase, Here are photos....., is embedded there and can't even erase. Area is frozen to using a cursor. Sending the e-mail is no problem.

how I prevent Lightroom 4 from automatically republishing photos on my Flickr account? It is frustrating that any slight alteration to Metadata etc automatically places photos already on Flickr on the republising list meaning that I have to update their details on my Flickr account every time I place anything new on it from Lightroom.

Some time ago I had uploaded one collection of photos through Flickr photostream.
Tonight I set up a second collection to upload. I edited the connection to change from "Public" to "Family and Friends" for this upload. It asked me whether to change previous photo permissions or not. At first I said yes. Then I thought it over, especially after a popup box told me that all ratings and comments would be deleted since I had a free Flickr account. Given that, I decided not to change them. So I went into the Flickr photostream window in LR4 (I have not yet published) and when I saw all the previous photos there to be republished, I selected them and deleted them, to avoid having them re-uploaded.
Unfortunately, it didn't have that effect. It put them in a group called "Deleted photos to Remove." I don't want them removed from Flickr. But I can't seem to get them out of this category so I can publish the new photos without removing them. How do I get rid of these images from this window so they won't be removed from Flickr when I upload the new images?

How do I stop LR3.6 from overwriting previously uploaded photos?
For instance, 3 days ago I uploaded a bunch of photos with their original filenames intact.. ie DSF1000 etc.
In Flickr I changed the filename to something more meaningful.
Yesterday, in LR, I selected 2 photos from the same batch of previously uploaded photos after modifying in Lightroom.
LR reuploaded all the same photos again..with the original file names (which I'd changed in Flickr) which meant Flickr comments and the view count was reset to 0.

Just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 11 on a x64 Dell running Win7. When trying to share photos using Flickr (which worked previously), I get the following:

I know about to make sure just one or the other is the default email client but it won't work. I could most definately have missed some setting that needs changed but don't know which one apparently. I get the message when trying to send a photo email, "Elements 11 organizer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".

I have a desktop (Windows 7) and a laptop (windows 8), both are running Elements 8. I plan to share photos and catalog between them with no duplication of data.
An external harddrive was attached to the desktop, photos were downloaded, a catalog was created, photos were imported - all worked fine.
I detached the ext drive from the desktop and attached it to the laptop with the same drive letter as used on the desktop. The custom location of the catalog was set to point to the catalog on the ext drive. When I tried to open this catalog, I got the message: "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt, or the version is out of date and cannot be updated" I moved the ext drive back to the desktop and it worked OK, as before.
I then set up a working version of elements on the laptop by:
1. Backing up the catalog on the desktop and restoring it to the laptop.
2. Copying the photos from the desktop to the laptop.
3. Reconnecting the photos to the catalog.
Adobe then worked fine on the laptop using the restored catalog.
But, this is not what I want to do. I want to have ONE catalog and ONE set of photos on an ext drive which can be plugged into either computer.

Just returned to PSE after a gap of several versions.I MacBook Pro, two users (both admins) and several cameras. I want one (and only one, at present) catalog that can be accessed by both users of the MacBook so that each user has access to all of the pix
I Installed Elements and added a few photo's to a folder in the root of the hdd, and tinkered a little. Discovered that the auto-created catalog was buried in the user/username path, not appropriate for multiple users, I thought.
So backed up catalog to external drive, then restored it to the folder that I'd previously added the photos to, viz HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog. This works absolutely fine for me, as I set it up.
When the other user starts Elements and goes Catalog Managent and browse to Other Locations: HD/ALL PHOTOS/ and is able to select 'My Catalog' and Open. She then gets the message "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt or the version is out of date"
Both usaers have R&W permissions. Both users are definately pointing at HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog.

In PSE 11, if I first tag all the people in the picture and subsequently make updates to the picture - all the tags are not carried over to the updated photo. Is there a way I can make this happen automatically without having to retag everyone each time I modify or update a photo?
