Lightroom :: 4.4 Cannot Connect To The Internet?
May 19, 2013Today I tried to export photos to Flickr and I got an error. I also tried to export to Facebook and failed. I tried to check for updates to the plugins and I could not connect to the update server. I checked maps and the program reported that they were offline. I am not having a problem connecting to the Internet with any other program. Spoitfy, Chrome, and Evernote all working fine.
This started today. It was fine last week. I have tried quitting LR4 as well as rebooting my computer. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I searched the forums and I saw similar problems mentioned, but no solutions.
Lightroom :: Proxy Server To Connect To Internet
Mar 17, 2012I live in a university dorm which requires a proxy server to connect to the internet. Everything else (browser, torrents, skype) all seem to work fine through this connection however I get various error messages when trying to publish, or check or an update in Lightroom.
I'm almost certain it has something to do with the connection because I don't get any of these problems when using another internet source. There don't seem to be any proxy or internet connection settings in Lightroom.

I have attempted to check all internet settings in my Google Chrome browser and in the Windows firewall I have included it as an "Allowed Connection". Still no joy, unable to connect and of course no updates?

Feb 15, 2012i have been a long user of romcat... but would like to use the new corel connect. i use the folders selected to my HD folder that has all my cdr files (20yrs worth from ver 1). when i type in a search word that is in 100's of my cdr files keywords... connect doesnt display them. In romcat it does display them, even older files, with the same key word. connect only shows cdr files that have in its file name part of the search word, but seems to ignore the key words in the files.
I have all my job files with important key words within them, but the actual file names are simple job numbered names. i noticed on searches from X5 content on dvd, the files also are just numbers, but the search finds key words.

When I try to log in to Flickr in order to authenticate my account, I get the error message "Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection." Similarly, I have tried to use Jeff Friedl's "Export to Flickr" plugin. When I try to enable this plugin, Lightroom can't contact Flickr - I get the error message "cannotconnectToHost", and Lightroom just keeps retrying to connect with no success.

Photoshop :: CS3 And Loss Of Internet?
Apr 23, 2013I have recently installed Photoshop CS3 on a newer PC which runs Windows 7 Home Premium, after the programme was locked on a PC running Vista which died on me and which I have just had repaired. However since installing the programme, every time I turn my PC off and then on again next morning, I have lost the internet.
I have been getting around the problem by running the HP network check and the automatic repair that it performs is to "reset the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Adapter". However this only works until the PC is turned off again and then I have to do the whole process again. Is there a way to fix this problem permanently? I was hoping there would be an update from Adobe that might sort the problem, but Adobe don't seem to be able to work with that as they say the programme is too old and don't have online support for this.
I have followed everything that is suggested by HP i.e. rebooting the modem and router.
If I reset the PC to before the programme was installed the problem goes away. When I reinstall the problem comes back. Its definitely to do with the Photoshop programme, but I don't understand why.
Photoshop :: Searches Internet, Why?
Jun 18, 2009When I have copied something and go to paste the image in PhotoShop CS3, something causes my system to open a connection to the Internet for several seconds (maybe 15) before I can paste. I have checked my system for all sorts of virus issues, fearing key recording software, but I don't have anything like that. I've been told by our IT person (who checked my system) that there is something Adobe is doing. Is this true? Why does PhotoShop need to make this connection?

May 29, 2009regarding Photoshop CS3. Whenever I import a photo into Photoshop it locks up for about 20 seconds then the picture shows up. I opened up the task manager and it shows that during the 20 second lockup period my PC is sending data through the Internet. Once I disconnect from my network and try to import a photo it loads instantly. So my question is why is Photoshop transferring data whenever I import a photo? Is there anyway to disable whatever it is doing so it does not lock up?

Sep 11, 2013I have had my second activation of Photoshop CS 5 on a backup computer that has no internet connection. I needed to change the operating system (Windows 7 Home to Windows 7 Professional). I called up Adobe, and told the technician that I was de-activating CS 5, reformatting the hard drive, then I was going to re-activate Photoshop. He gave me a case number so that the next technician could easily understand what I was doing and what I needed.
The first time I installed Photoshop on this backup computer, I contacted Customer Service. The technician had me do several things to get to an activation screen. I gave him both the serial number and an installation code. He then used them to generate a unique activation code, which I typed in to activate Photoshop. I had Photoshop on that computer, working, for a year.
I called on August 30, after the re-formatting and installing the new operating system, I called Customer Service to get re-activating Photoshop.
The first technician said I could not reactivate Photoshop. The second technician said it could be done, but not at his level and he would escalate the case, and someone would call me.After no calls, I tried again on 09/05. I was transferred to the manager. He said it could not be done, but he would escalate the case to the "expert team," and that someone from that team would call me "tomorrow" (09/06).
Along the way, one technician said I did not need to reactivate Photoshop because when I called about deactivating Photoshop, that technician assigned a special number that would obviate the need to reactivate. How did my computer, off-line, and my software, on a proprietary disk, know that number?

I have tried to disable it so I can reactivate it on my current computer but internet access is required to fully deactivate. Sep 6, 2007I've been trying to do this for ages but i just cannot do it! I designed something in Photoshop and opened it in ImageReady to add links. I then clicked 'Save Optimized As...' and saved it under 'HTML and images'. I then found each of the images of my design in an image folder and the actual HTML of it outside the folder. When I open the HTML, the design opens up in internet explorer with the links working. But now I don't know how to actually place my design on my website. I have tried to use Macromedia Dreamweaver but when I copy the HTML code to my website, the design appears with small red crosses, not showing it.
