AutoCAD LT :: Autodesk Plot Style Manager Missing In Windows 7
Aug 17, 2012
I feel a new install of Windows 7 coming on. It is very strange why the Plot style manager has gone for a walk it may still be about but I can,t find it. Is it loaded with Autocad.
new at autocad 2012 (previous CAD07 user)im having trouble setting up my page, never had a problem with this before..... i need an A4 scaled drawing in paper space.
my current setup.... paper size: A4 plot area: extents, ticked centre the plot scale: 1:1
the result: titleblock cut off on left and right sides
its only when i need A4 size (red margins!) A3, A2 etc are fine....i dont know what else is needed? I installed CAD12 only a few days ago and im the first and only AutoCAD user at my work. Im not sure if there's some intial setup settings that are required.
I am working in Civil 3D 2011 and cannot call up my sheet set manager. I have used it before but not recently. Here are the things I have tried.
1. Sheetset command in the commanline doesn't produce the palette and shows no error.
2. Opensheetset command in the command line brings up the dialog box to browse to my sheetset. I select it and click open and there is no error but still does not display my sheetset manager.
3. Opened up my cui and made sure the sheet set is added to my work space, visible, and docked and still nothing.
4. Clicked the sheetset palette button on my view ribbon under the Palettes tab.
We have 2005LT for kitchen design. I need to recover or find a pen assignment. The "Plot Syle Table (pen assignments) window is showing "peacock.ctb (missing)." Is there a way to recover this setting?
I just completed a new drawing from scratch and I'm ready to plot. Problem is that the plot styles are missing. I tried opening another drawing to see if the plot style would show up, and it did. For some reason this new drawing is missing most of the plot styles.
Is there a way to load them into this new drawing? Also, is there a way to avoid having to load them everytime I create a new drawing?
Here's my problem: I have a customized plot style table "SK.ctb". I have it saved both in the appropriate folders on my computer and in a shared folder on the network. Usually when I am working in a file and open the plot window, my plot table is available in the list at the upper right "Plot style table (pen assignments)".
Right now I am working in a drawing that was sent to me by another firm. They of course didn't send me their pen assignment tables, not that I really care as I would rather edit the layer colors if necessary, but use my own. The problem is that in the plot window it is only showing their plot styles - none of mine! Theirs are all listed as missing, but I can't get it to even look for the plot tables I usually use.
Publish works as expected in foreground, uses proper page setup plot style and color table an dthe results are black on white. But when using PUBLISH in background it shows an error for each ""WARNING: Incompatible or missing plot style"" and the created PDF's are in color instead of balck and white.
Having problem with the monochrome .ctb plot style table not showing up in the plot dialogue for AutoCAD Architecture 2010? Typically it seems to be standard upon install of the software.
Coworker is setting up a new Win7 (64bit) machine but we don't have the ability to upgrade CAD at this time. So running AutoCAD Mechanical 2007. (Yes we know they don't always play nice) Two other workstations here are running the same OS & CAD and print without issues. This new machine AutoCAD does not see any system printers. Have made sure the "Hide System Printers" is not checked under options. I can add a plotter file for each system printer and that workaround is OK, but why this one machine can't see the system printers. They are Xerox workstations on the network - not local. We have already restarted AutoCAD and restarted the PC.
How does one convert an stb file to ctb. I have tried using the CONVERTPSTYLES command to no avail. After selecting the stb for conversion, i am getting an error message stating that the stb does not contain a color mapping table and cannot be used to convert drawings.
In AutoCAD 2014 and ASD2013 I cannot choose one of the printer, which is installed on Windows (OCE TDS600). It is strange, because Autocad sees it on the list of available plotters, but when I try to select it - it automaticly changes to "None".
The plotter is properly configured - I can print with it from Revit 2013 without any problems. Also when I switch account to any other (on that same computer) everything works fine.
I tried to add this plotter through "Add-A-Plotter Wizard", but each time I obtain an error massage "Autodesk Hardcopy component failed..."
Printers: from HP 5000 series to a KIP 3000. CAD,from 2008 to 2012 versions.ALL of the PCs are having this strange behaviour:Open a drawing, Press File then Plot and..
Scenario 1: if the KIP3000 is online then plotting window comes in few seconds, a normal, decent delay! Scenario 2: if the KIP 3000 is offline then plotting can be delayed to minutes!!!
Downloaded the drivers from KIP web site, installed and tested, prints fine once the above issue with delay is sorted! I’m guessing that is something built-in CAD, pre-emptive, background checks running for printers status when you attempt to plot to the printer / plotter !
I am trying to convert all missing PlotStyles that are missing to one that is not missing.
I am working with the Style Manager and Display Manger. We use a custom .stb and in this custome .stb we have eliminated some of the standard PlotStyle Names such as Full Saturation, well as you may imagine some of the default materials, walls etc... under Style manager reference Full Saturation, right now I am going in by hand, one by one, changing this to AsDrawn.
Is there a way I can automate this for two purposes? 1.) so I don't have to do this all by hand 2.) as we "copy" elements from older jobs we can macro the change of plotstyle and so when we get drawings from outside we again can macro the plotstyle to AsDrawn.
I am a Mac user and new to AutoCAD. I am enrolled in a CAD class this semester and the instructor for my session is requiring Windows. Supposedly this is because AutoCAD for Mac does not allow for proper printing on their plot style setting.
I understand that I can install Bootcamp and Windows on my computer, but I'd really like to avoid that if I can. If I were to do my work on my Mac and then digitally transfer my files to a PC for printing purposes, would my files become corrupted or compromised in any way?
AutoCAD - Why does the Normal plot style plot in color? Black seems to make a lot more sense. Almost everyone in Architecture uses black prints most frequently so that should be the default. And you can't adjust Normal to all black. So what was AutoDesk's reasoning?
I am an experienced Autocad user, and plotted with ctb files. I installed 2013 and plots come out not as i want. Although i assigned a ctb plot style, lines come out according to an unknown plan to me. I attached the file. It seems that the lines are influenced by the ctb file, but some colors are fadded I found it. i had to assign the color black to all colors, since it plotted with colors, on the black and white plotter. But a new problem arose. now i don't see colors when i am in the layout, all lines are white!
I am using a custom page size (31x31) and need the plots to be upside down for binding on the left margin. In autocad 2010 and 2012, the OOTB DWF6 ePlot.pc3 and DWG To PDF.pc3 will not do this. I have tried PLOTROTMODE but nothing changes it. Plot upside-down in the plot dialog box does not work.
I can rotate the viewport 180 to get what I want but I don't want to do that.
I try to add the dwg to pdf.pc3 file to my AutoCAD LT 2014 (german) When I click on manage plotter a File Explorer Windows pops up instead of the plotter manager.
I have to add a style text in a display manager. When i add it, i have a option to scale this text. It is possible to have possibility to scale the text as a same height in multiple viewport in a layout... example (* 10 (VIEWPORTSCALE)) but this line does'n work
I imported data from a SHP file to a base drawing I plan to use to attach, and I wanted to replace data points with data symbol definition blocks. However, when I create a symbol style and try to edit it by double-clicking, I get a *Cancel* on the command line and nothing happends. When I pressing the "Style" button on the Display Manager tab in the Task Pane, same thing.I suspect that I missed a step - or several - along the way of importing the SHP file.
My linear dimension command is not working and I noticed I have no dimensions showing in my dims style manager. When I go to set up...I have no dimensions showing in the preview.
at work we use custom paper sizes. We use HP Designjet 500 ploter and paper rolls of sizes 420, 610 and 910 mm. So I have made layout for all sizes: 410x 420, 600x610 and 900x910 mm. To share files between computers we use TortoiseSVN. But leaving for long time all sizes gets bad (page_ setup_ manager. png). Size from 410x420 becomes 409,96x419,95 mm. The same becomes in plot window too (plot.png). And to plot in right paper sizes we need to edit plot paper size again if not drawing is ploted in bad paper size (custom_paper_size.png). Is here a way to permanently bind good paper size to drawing?
I have a drawing which contains 17 layouts in paperspace. When I go to plot all drawings using the sheetset manager its only plots out what is in paperspace. I.e the titleblock and nothing in the viewports, i.e model space.
I'm trying to find dimension style manager in Autocad 2011. The one where I can set text size, arrow size, style etc.
I used to be able to find it on the dimensions toolbar but now it's gone. I mostly use Inventor so I rarey go back to Autocad.
even finding how to change precision of the dimension was a pain - it used to be double click and change it in the property window. After a few minutes of trying things I managed to find it under right lick menu.
anyway - looking for dimension style manager so that I can create a new style and use it.
