AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Autodesk Ignorance For Windows 8 Support

I started using AuoCAD Civil 3D 2013 on my windows 8. It is crashing a few minutes after opened. When I run it in the mode "Civil 3d as Autocad" everything works ok, but I can only visualise and plot the drawing and move the labels.
First, I thought that I had a problem with my PC so I tried googling this issue, updating my version to SP1 but nothing got fixed. Throught my research on the web It seems that mostly of Windows 8 users are facing problems using Autodesk products on their computers especially whem my co-worker was facing such a similar issue on running both of AutoCAD 2012 and Revit 2013 on his windows 8 and I can not describe how much did we got annoyed for such problem and the circumstances for not able to complete our work tasks using Autodesk products.
The point is how Autodesk is going to give a final solution to Windows 8 incomptability issues. Will be there anything further or it is just Windows 8 users are forced to leave their operating system and back for older one without any incomptaibilty issues like Windows 7?

Don't get the AD strategy.... ok, I can import fbx....without projection tools? it such a basic tool, specially when AD has already developed the tools over other similar systems...

I am trying to type Tamil text in Photoshop CS3. I typed Tamil text using Google Transliteration [URL] then pasted in Photoshop, but it is not working. As Google Transliteration uses Unicode, it must work in photoshop as well (if Photoshop supports Unicode).
Does photoshop support Unicode? If so what am I missing?
If photoshop does not support Unicode, how can I type Tamil text in photoshop?

I have done a clean install of the GeForce 314.07 Drivers (releaesd 2/18/2013). In addition i have done clean installs of 3 Prior GeForce releases.

I can run OpenCL benchmarking tests and they work great, but I still cannot active it in photoshop.
Ive tried using sniffer_gpu.exe in the photoshop folder at numerous different times and intervals, (while photoshop is open, after i close it, after a fresh reboot), yet i still cannot get it enabled in photoshop.

I'm currently running Smoke 2011 on a Mac Pro and we are feeding a Professional Grade 58" Panasonic Plasma equipped with HDMI and Component connections. We are unfortunately limited to using only the HDMI connection because Smoke 2011 doesn't support component out. Using the HDMI connection means we're limited to a 60Hz refresh rate which, generates flickering cross fades, and strobing with fast moving video. The component connections allow us to utilize a 100Hz refresh rate which eliminates these issues. After a little research, I have learned that Panasonic does not make a professional grade plasma monitor that supports higher than 60Hz through HDMI.

I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

I created an alignment from the arcs at my intersections. When I go to the geometry editor under grid view it only shows the first curve.Does c3d support discontinuous alignments? When building edge of pavements at intersections is the workflow to make a new alignment for each intersection?

There's been an interesting conversation going around my office for the last few days about switching to all Microsoft devices in the near future. A look around the AD site shows all the apps for the App Store and Google Play but not Windows Phone. I use a bunch of AD apps on my iPad and iPhone that are a "must have" now. A quick Google search brings up a bunch of articles but I haven't seen anything definitive from AD. Does the AD apps (most importantly SketchBook Mobile, Autodesk 360, ForceEffects) are coming out for that platform anytime in the future?

I used autocad 2010 at my old job but I now use 2012. Now, I keep getting a "bad definition for linetype" error when I try to use linetypes that worked fine at my old job. Someone suggested that I reestablish my support paths but I don't know how to do this.

I have multiple computers in my department that just received multiple Microsoft updates, a service pack update to Windows 7 and an upgrade to Internet Explorer 9. When they restarted and browsed in Windows explorer, all the Autodesk icons have been replaced by a generic icon. We tried to reset by re-establshing the file association and that did not work.
How do we rebuild the Autodesk icon cache on these machines?

The Autocad 2013 x86 or x64 is not installed on Windows 8 Consumer Preview because programs can not read .NET Framework versions 2 and 4 which are integral parts of the OS.

we are planning to migrate from windows xp to windows 7 64 bit. Is there are chance to deploy a migration script to backup the user settings from xp and import them to windows 7. Copying the files from %appdata% is not a good solution because if the program was never started before the Autocad product will start a repair for user settings and so the files and settings are deleted.
I need a method for more than 100 pcs so using the implemented export and import tool is not possible.

After having struggled to get Autodesk 360 working, it is constantly pestering me to say my settings are ready.
I have synced my settings to the Cloud (I like this function) but why are my settings ready to load as presumably syncing to the Cloud duplicates the settings on my machine??

I'm new to SSA and have been testing it for the past day. I have read through the user's guide, which states that junction losses are not used in the software. Instead, minor losses are applied as an equivalent friction loss over the length of each pipe. Given this calculation methodology, there should never be any "jumps" in the EGL at standard junctions since no loss is occuring there. Each profile simulation that I run, however, invariably shows jumps in the EGL at various junctions. Some junctions even exhibit an increase in EGL, which makes no logical sense. Also, the HGL is droping at each junction unexpectedly too.I've attached an example where the flow is constant, and all minor losses are 0.
