If a window is tagged and the window is moved, then the tag moves also. Is it possible to keep the link to the property set information but make it so the tag does not move if the window is moved?

I opened a view drawing where I had placed the window tags and many of them had moved either X or Y from where they had been placed. When I say moved, I don't mean a little. Some of them moved 540 FEET! What would cause that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI loaded ACA 2014, then customized it with my old .cuix files so all would be 'normal' for me. When I open ACA now I get the following message:
"An executable file was found outside of the specified trusted locations. What do you want to do?"
followed by the choice of 'load' or 'don't load' in a dialogue. (does this for every .mnl file)
My question is, "Can you set something somewhere to tell ACA to load these each time without the dialogue?" This happens every time I open the program. You'd think after I've got it all set and saved my profile and set my workspace, etc. that ACA would figure it out that I 'trust' these executable files.
I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2011. I have been working in a drawing for several weeks on casework. I have multiple viewports on my sheet layouts. Up until now I was able to select the viewports and move them or make them bigger or smaller with grip edit but now although I see them I can't select them or even delete them. I can double click within the viewport and change the scale or modify the items in the viewport but I can't do anything to the viewport in paper space.
I have turned all the layers on and made sure that none of them were locked. I have tried regen. I have opened a new tab and tried to create new viewports and I have the same problem. I can create them but once I do I can't modify / move them.
Beyond that when I switch from model to paper space it takes about 5 min. sometimes longer to switch and the same thing when I save it or close it. Is that normal?
I am going to collect objectid's of the moved items in drawing after they moved to destination. So I wrote an event to monitor move command , by using object modified event handler. when I run below code for every entity it collects 2 object id. One before move and one after move. Is there any way to just collect object ids after they moved?

What is the best method to re-path x-refs in a project whose folder has been moved. We are talking about 60-100 x-refs here.The originals were created in ACA 2009 and were not pathed relatively; nor was Project Navigator used. We are currently using ACA 2014.

However, this doesn't happen for my coworker. She can see all the xrefs. How could I solve this? The file names or directory has not changed.

Whenever I want to pan I get the 'hand'. I click and drag...no prob. However, I want to do a controled pan (to fix a moved elevation in a viewport on a sheet). I want to click a point, and then pan, say, 50' orthogonally. Is this possible?
Recently while working in multiple windows, when a image is moved for one window to the next, it is resized automatically form its original size , to a new size (ex. Orig. 5x5 to 4.2x4.2).
How can I keep this from happening, so my image retains its original size?
If I have a dynamic block of a window. I can move either side of the block but the basepoint doesn't move. Is there a way to move the basepoint as well so its not off in space? or just delete it and have it now shown?

Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

In 2013 Civil 3d I am having the issue that when I select the Add/ Delete scales the cursor changes to an arrow and the program waits. If i hit the exscape key it goes back to normal. My best guess is the dialog box is popping up behind the drafting window.

In AutoCAD Architecture 2012: when we insert standard windows in the wall, we usually get a wall break. After changing window size to small (2’ high), this wall break disappears in the plan, but still have it on isometric or perspective view.

I tried to load/insert a specific window style through use of the design palette but couldn't find the right type within the generic window styles that came with the software. I needed an 8 Blade x 150 glass Louvre Blades Window with a few standard openings currently used in our industry. In fact I needed to design several standards of these which I did but saved them as blocks with the dwg extensions.
In fact I really desire a way to design one that would be possible to be integrated into the styles drawing in the default location (C:/Program Data/Autodesk/ACA 2013/enu/Styles/Metric/Window Styles (Metric).dwg.
I understand that these default styles can easily be loaded into design palettes, entered into constructed walls and modified to certain specs in the appropriate dialogue boxes.
Why would a window not go into a wall?
I have a client who is having this issue - when I open the file it works fine for me.
Is there a system variable or setting that could cause this?
Sometimes when we place a window in a wall we can grab the grip and stretch it to any size we want. Other times the only sizes we can use are the standard sizes. I know how to add a standard size but how can we make it to where you can just strectch it to any size we want?

When I switch work spaces still the same result.
I'm working on a dynamic door block, which allows me to add some height and width values to the door. everything works fine when I put in the attributes right away when I insert the block. Only if I want to mirror and stretch the block before I enter the values they want move to the correct position. After I run "attsync" it moves to it's correct place.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my properties window or floating palette. When I select an object, such as a "line", my properties palette refreshes itself for about 3 seconds. When I hit esc, or deselect the line, it takes another 3 seconds to refresh itself. You can even see the properties palette start at the top and go blank as it travels downward. Very slow process, I can not get anything done. IF I close my properties palette, it does not have the delay, but I can not work without it. When I reboot, it works fine for about 5-6 selections, then jams back up.

I tried to rebuilt the file and reinstall but that doesn't seem to work. Also rather than opening at least 2 drawing (or more) now results in seperate sessions rather than 1 session with 2 or more files. What the setting is that I need to update?

When I open a new drawing draw a wall and a couple doors, the schedule inserts when I use the annotate tool. I am only using a basic floor plan at the moment, no xrefs or anything else, simple walls and doors and inserted from the program. I did use tags for the doors and windows which worked fine.
