AA 2012 - The REFEDIT window is missing, which means I cannot add a subtract objects while editing a block, I can save and close the block by Right Clicking menu, but the window is nowhere to be found!
Do I need to modify the CUI?
I recently loaded AutoCAD Architecture 2008 and the menu tabs for File, Edit, Window etc were all missing. They are replaced with a tab that says M-Color 9.5. When i load the program with older files (from this morning) the menu tabs are there but then they disappear. How do i get them back?
Also in addition to that my toolbars are gone, but i can recover those when i have my tool bars.
I have opened a block to add a quick leader only and when I tried to close I got the message cannot save back ... (see screenshot 1) when I hit f2 the problem is shown to be a missing application reference (see screenshot 2).
This may not seem a big deal but the problem actually occurred after about 15mins of editing a block and it has taken me about an hour to figure out what the culprit was
Under the Annotate Tab / add labels / line & curves / add line & curve labels a window normally pops up asking for info. One of my techs has lost this on her computer and we can't figure out what happened. Checked the options and hers is the same as mine. Not sure what she did.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn AutoCAD Architecture 2012: when we insert standard windows in the wall, we usually get a wall break. After changing window size to small (2’ high), this wall break disappears in the plan, but still have it on isometric or perspective view.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two windows that are above my cut plane (far above) but still insists on displaying in plan view. This of course ruins my plan drawing so I need to fix it. I have tried several different 'Object Display' options but none have worked so far.
I don't understand - I thought default was for them not to disappear when above cut plane?
I tried to load/insert a specific window style through use of the design palette but couldn't find the right type within the generic window styles that came with the software. I needed an 8 Blade x 150 glass Louvre Blades Window with a few standard openings currently used in our industry. In fact I needed to design several standards of these which I did but saved them as blocks with the dwg extensions.
In fact I really desire a way to design one that would be possible to be integrated into the styles drawing in the default location (C:/Program Data/Autodesk/ACA 2013/enu/Styles/Metric/Window Styles (Metric).dwg.
I understand that these default styles can easily be loaded into design palettes, entered into constructed walls and modified to certain specs in the appropriate dialogue boxes.
Why would a window not go into a wall?
I have a client who is having this issue - when I open the file it works fine for me.
Is there a system variable or setting that could cause this?
Sometimes when we place a window in a wall we can grab the grip and stretch it to any size we want. Other times the only sizes we can use are the standard sizes. I know how to add a standard size but how can we make it to where you can just strectch it to any size we want?

i prefer to have it default in this window or wall style rather than playing around with anchors and other ,,reposition tools'' for each and single window in my basement plan.
I opened a view drawing where I had placed the window tags and many of them had moved either X or Y from where they had been placed. When I say moved, I don't mean a little. Some of them moved 540 FEET! What would cause that?

The only thing that shows up is the option to type the location of the file on the command line. The window use to show up but I must of unknowingly clicked on a command to disable it.

I've gone back and changed the height of the windows. Now when I look in Plan (top) view, the windows I've changed the dimensions on are no longer visible.how to make these windows visible again in plan (top) view?
Note: These re-sized windows can be seen in any other perspective except Plan (top) view.
I am trying to create one pluggin which can handle inplace edit [refedit]. I can open in place edit window by invoking 'REFEDIT' command from my pluggin. But i need to get the selected document path for in place edit.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use the Map function within Civil 3D 2012 to export municipal GIS data from shp files, for our base plans. One of the clean-up functions is to convert the text exported from GIS to an appropriate text style suitable for the project. To do this, I would select the text, use the select similar command, then update the text style in the properties window. This process has worked well when using Civil 3D 2010 and 2011, however, I have noticed in 2012 the "style" option is not available.
Not sure what I mean, have a look at the two attachments. Notice in the C3D 2012 image, there is no "style" option, while the C3D 2010 image includes the 'style" option. I submitted this bug to our reseller, who was able to replicate this error. Our reseller submitted this to Autodesk, who was also able to replicate this error. What is interesting is if I open the drawing that contains the map exported data from C3D 2012 in either 2010 or 2011 versions, the "style" option is available, just not in 2012. This leads me to believe the issue is not with the data or the export functionality of 2012, the issue is with 2012 displaying the data property. Autodesk has forwarded this issue to their developers, no indication of when or if it will be resolved for Civil 3D 2012.
My workaround for now is to use Civil 3D 2010 for the drawing cleanup functions. Fortunately I am able to have previous versions of Civil 3D installed, since I am on subscription. My advice is when upgrading, do not remove your previous versions if you are on subscription, you may need to use it one day.
I have recently installed Civil 3D 2013 and was configuring my options to how I have done so for the last few year and when I tried to change the message window font from the default Courier new to Courier I could not find said font. How to get this font or if it has been removed from 2013?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my properties window or floating palette. When I select an object, such as a "line", my properties palette refreshes itself for about 3 seconds. When I hit esc, or deselect the line, it takes another 3 seconds to refresh itself. You can even see the properties palette start at the top and go blank as it travels downward. Very slow process, I can not get anything done. IF I close my properties palette, it does not have the delay, but I can not work without it. When I reboot, it works fine for about 5-6 selections, then jams back up.

I tried to rebuilt the file and reinstall but that doesn't seem to work. Also rather than opening at least 2 drawing (or more) now results in seperate sessions rather than 1 session with 2 or more files. What the setting is that I need to update?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAll my layers are turned on, when in an existing drawing my schedules do not appear when I use the tool to create them. When I open a new drawing draw a wall and a couple doors, the schedule inserts when I use the annotate tool. I am only using a basic floor plan at the moment, no xrefs or anything else, simple walls and doors and inserted from the program. I did use tags for the doors and windows which worked fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to ACAD 2012 from 2009 and have copied over my CUI settings and getting different results when Double clicking on regular ( not Dynamic ) blocks. The macro for this i've set to ^C^C_refedit.
This previously would automatically select the NESTED block in the list of reference names if double clicked on in the drawing, however now in 2012 the parent block is always selected and i need to hunt through the list to find the actual nested block that im wanting to edit.
Is there a setting / variable that has changed in the upgrades? I have Automatically select all nested objects selected in the Reference edit dialog box and all other options match my 2009 as far as i can tell.
Almost all of our blocks have dynamic properties and I've made a number of lisp commands that use this info.
How do I stop someone from using refedit command on dynamic blocks? I have a problem with one guy. I've explained to him many times to use bedit command or come see me and I'll modify the block. He continues to use the command
I do not want to use lisp to ruin his day... but I will if this continues. Any setting I can use to stop this and keep me from going to a dark place
Whenever I edit a block using Refedit, Autocad seems to want to switch on the grid. (which if fine although a bit annoying) what really gets me is when I leave Refedit I’d expect it to turn the grid off again and restore the setting to the way they were before Refedit. But instead the grid remains still on.
