Whenever I maximize a document in Illu. CS6 it overrides the application menu! It simply covers my whole screen making it impossible to reach my menues unless i drag the documents corners to make it smaller or click the minimize icon.

I am using Photoshop CS2 (9.0.2) on Windows XP (SP2). Whenever I open an image file using PS, the document window constrains itself to the dimensions of the image (IE: if the image file is 20cm X 15cm, the document window opens to 20cm X 15cm dimensions). Can I change it so whenever I open a new document it will automatically maximise the document window?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have CS installed on my laptop. running WinXPPro, and unfortunately a few weeks ago CS started to behave badly. The program appears to load fine but 1 or 2 seconds after finally loading the program disappears from both the Application list and the window. The Task manager continues to show the Photoshop.exe process but its doing nothing. I have deleted preferences, I have re-installed, I have removed FlashPlayer (a CS3 problem sounded similar) all to no avail. Oddly enough ImageReady CS performs fine - it just doesn't give me the features I need access to do my work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running LR5 on Windows. I've got the grid view on my primary display and a second display showing the loupe view.
If the focus moves to another application (i.e. a small notepad window on the primary display) then I can still see LR with its grid view in the background behind notepad on the primary display however the loupe view on the second display disappears and I can see the desktop.
Is it possible to configure LR not to automatically hide the 2nd display when the input foucs moves to a different wiindow? I'd like to be able to continue displaying the image on the 2nd display while I'm doing something else on the primary display.
I've not been able to check but I've a feeling this is new behaviour in 5, I don't think 3 or 4 did this.
there has been some talk lately about the Illustrator window not being Maximized when opening Ai files via double-clicking...I don't think this happens on macs though, but if it does, hope this fixes it too.URL....

When I go to create a new Document in Illustrator I'll select a default document type like : Mobile and Devices. Then I go down to the different sizes and bam. The problem. I can't pick a default size that "I" want to use. Yes there are preset sizes but none of them are the ones I want to use. Ok there has to be a text file or something that lets me edit/add new document sizes to illustrator. It shouldn't be this hard. I don't own CS6. I'm on an older version of Illustrator right now. I don't know if you guys fixed this in CS6. But it should be like photoshop or indesign. Why it's different baffles me.
This is a JDI if there ever is one. Make all presets in all programs the same (editing wise) and if possible make a preset manager that allows for one preset to be added or edited and all apps see these presets.
I just recently re-installed CS4 onto another computer and now I can't select "Custom" in the size when creating a new document.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've currently undertaken a project for truck design. They have requested for the final design to be 10% of the final size at 300 dpi and they will be using a large format printer, so no panel printing.
Here's the problem- even at 10% it is too large for the document restrictions.
The 24 ton truck at 10% of the final size is 1,278 meters by 228 meters.
All my Adobe programs won't even let me touch this final size, they limit me completely.
How do I create a final output size of 1,278 meters with the preset limitations and keeping a final output of 300 dpi?
When I do double click to open a file of Illustrator, the application starts with a little interface and then a dialog box that says "Not enough space for the window, increase the size of the document and try again" appears.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm designing some screens for an retina display iPad and I just want the illustrator document on my 27" thunderbold monitor (at 109 ppi) to have the same physical dimensions as the physical iPad screen (7.75" x 5.81"). Maybe its so obvious that no one talks about how to do it. I do feel a little embarassed that I haven't figured this out.
Regardless of whenther I enter the doucment dimensions in inches or in pixels the resulting document is never the same pysicial size as the iPad's screen. And since Illustrator deals in vectors it doesn't have any notion of PPI that I can use to bring inches and pixels into alignement so that what I see on my monitor is the same physical size as what's in the iPad.
All i want is the AI document displayed on my monitor to be the exact same size as my iPad's screen.
I created a new pull down menu in AutoCAD 2011 and everytime I close out of AutoCAD or switch workspaces it disappears from the Menu bar. So I type in CUI at the command line and checked the customization window and it shows the menu as being active. I had no problems in previous versions of AutoCAD.

The information that i found is from UserInterfaceManager i could get CommandControls and add a button/ Seperator here. Need to add this inside the "Export" tab.
Haven't figured out the trigger yet but after working in INV for a little while the "Application Menu" (used to be the File menu) does not respond to clicking on any buttons..Flyouts work but when you press the actual button nothing happens..
All other ribbon bar buttons function properly. Simply closing INV and restarting fixes the problem temporarily.
how do i match on screen document size to view print size? when i create a new document and put in its dimensions when i press view print size it appears alot smaller on screen
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis happens occasionally-out of nowhere the brush tool stops showing as a circle of specfic diameter and shows as a crosshairs, which does me no good whatever. This goes for all tools using the brush presets-brush, eraser, and stamp. I can't do anything. because I can't see the tool I'm working with. I tried restarting PS, then restarting with trashed prefs. Neither worked. I know that sooner or later it will come back and all wil be well, but meanwhile, the deadlines are creeping closer & closer. The enemy is at the gates.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently using dual monitors and whenever I open or create a new document in CS2 it wants to go on top of the menu bar till I move it. This gets annoying after a while when trying to edit multiple documents. Is there a way to make the Menu bar always on top and the documents to just live in the work space below it and never go ontop of the others? I know this was possible in earlier versions of photoshop.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE12 with Mac OS X Mavericks. If I use the type tool, type some text then want to change maybe the font or size, the text disappears! If I set the parameters before typing everything is OK, but it is really inconvenient.
Also when I do a return in text the first letter of the next line is always a capital whether or not I start a new sentence!
PS CS5 had icons in the top menu bar where the "Arrange Documents" icons were located. Now I can only find them in the Window drop down list. Are they still available in CS6? It was nice not having to find them in the "Window" drop down list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter cropping a photo in cs4 i have tried hitting the return key as well as edit/crop and then my photo disappears and the image box reduces in size to about 1 inch square with no image. I have expanded the image box but nil photo. This has never happened before.
I reloaded cs4 onto my computer but the problem still exists. I have also tried out opening the file from Bridge as well as Photoshop with the same result.
How do I add custom menu items to the main menu in Illustrator?
I would like to build my own menu with scripts that I use alot. This is a powerful feature that I use alot in other programs, but I have not seen any examples of this in illustrator.

Get error msg "Screen resolution size is not sufficient to launch the application"
Screen resolution is currently set at 1366 x 768 which is "recommended" I have reset resolution and restarted with each attempt at changing resolution... still get message..
Not a happy camper... Seems they should be sophisticated enough to check that system is set properly.... and if not, to give information on how to correct.
I have a psd dynamically linked to an Encore menu. When I go into PS my cursor has changed into what looks like a hand over a book or maybe a paint bucket.It wasn't there yesterday even though the doc was linked then as well...
