VideoStudio :: Screen Resolution Size Is Not Sufficient To Launch The Application?
Nov 4, 2013
I just upgraded from VS Pro5 to VS Pro 6. Will not launch.
Get error msg "Screen resolution size is not sufficient to launch the application"
Screen resolution is currently set at 1366 x 768 which is "recommended" I have reset resolution and restarted with each attempt at changing resolution... still get message..
Not a happy camper... Seems they should be sophisticated enough to check that system is set properly.... and if not, to give information on how to correct.
I Just bought a new HP laptop and it came with Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 pre installed. When I go to open the program I get the error message 'Cannot initialize application. The screen resolution is too small to play the video. The screen resolution must be set to at least 1024 x 768". Well the screen res is on 1600 x 900, so i thought i would have that covered. I tried changing the screen res to 1024x768 and get the same message.
I am using VS X2. I am trying to create a DVD of my project. I have assembled my files/projects, created a menu, and previewed. This is as far as I can get. The prompts at the bottom of the page are not displayed properly. I have a "back" prompt in the lower left and it looks like there is the start of a prompt in the lower right. I have adjusted my screen resolution to no avail.
I am not yet an owner for VideoStudio. This program is on my short list of software I wish to use for screen capture (creating a series of tutorials for an online classroom) and I have to be able to produce these items in a minimum of 720P 16x9 format (Ideally would like to grab at 1080P but 720 is my absolute minimum requirement). Can VideoStudio do this for me? Do I need a specific capture/video card to be able to acquire at a 720P resolution?
I have a background in broadcast television in my day job, (I edit on Quantel and Apple FCP) and what I like about this software is that it's an "all in one" solution.
PS. running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, 8GB RAM, NVidia GeForce9600GT card
I cannot find a way to keep the native resolution when exporting it to this size, even using the same as project settings, it makes it 720x480, when i look at the file when clicking properties it says uncompressed 1920x1080, how do i export it as such just a little more compressed?
I've created a deployment for AutoCAD2011 x64 to be installed via SCCM. I've followed the instructions to create an SCCM package that were provided on the support website, as well as what comes on the CD. While I'm able to create the install and deliver the package, I get an error when trying to launch the shortcut (AutoCAD 2011 - English).Â
The error is a Microsoft .NET Framework error that states:"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.Access to the path 'C:Program Files Autodesk AutoCAD 2011Migration' is denied.
I went to check on the folder security and realize that the Migration folder doesn't exist.
When I click in the shortcut (now covered with a shield icon) the programme starts, fails to fully boot and dissapears. Subsequent efforts to start then do not even try to boot.
I have an iMac running OSX. Cannot get application to launch after loaded from Creative Cloud. Status shows my application is "up to date" and it will take me to the tutorials page, but will not launch.
I edit an mp4 video and produce a new mp4 video. If I produce the new mp4 while I open the project, the screen size is normal. (c_not_use_batch.jpg) If I produce the new file using batch convert, the screen size is reduced (c_use_batch.jpg) However, the setting for producing the files are the same (c_setting.jpg)
The files and settings are the same. The only difference is using batch convert or not.
When I'm in Corel Draw, I've imported a picture, converted the picture to bitmap and go to edit bitmap in Corel Paint it says FAILED TO LAUNCH SERVER APPLICATION.Â
URL.... "Failed to launch server application" when trying to edit a bitmap out of CorelDraw, only later saw that specific post was for X3. I have the same trouble, only with X4.
To recap my problem: When calling the "edit bitmap" function in X4 - I receive this message: "Failed to launch server application". Paint opens, closes, opens, closes and then the message pops up.Â
I tested several files, different bitmaps, different dpi's, new files with newly converted bitmaps (filled rectangle to bitmap).  To no avail.Â
complete Corel X4 uninstall 3 times already .... even went so far as to reboot the registry to a date before I installed Corel X4 Suite to no avail.
The program has had no issues until the last 2 weeks. The actual issue I am having is Paint works fine as a separate entity however when I try to edit a bitmap from within X4 an error pops up telling me "Failed to launch server application" This is a major PITB as I own a graphics company and this is causing no end of problems
Windows Vista Home PremiumHP Pavillion m7790yPSE 7.plenty of space on the hard discs and plenty of RAM. PSE 7 worled fine for months until a few days ago. Now, when I launch 7, the initial welcome screen (chose Organizer, Editor etc) appears for half a second, then the conmpture crashes with a blue screen error message saying that a bad driver was detected that caused the computer to shut down. Here are all the things I have tried - none worked. I did a deep scan in Safe Mode with my antivirus - results cleanI ran the Winodws utilities to check for errors in memory and hard drive - results clean.I used the Windows driver updater to update each and every driver - no failures.I reinstalled PSE 7I reinstalled my HP printer softwareI read the Windows event manager messages about this crash and all that it says is that I have a driver problem.
I get this error message every time I startup the Editor. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. The same problem exits. I have tried the Control+alt+Shift when the Editor is starting up and that does not work either.  I am running this on a Windows 7 machine. I am trying to launch the Editor from the welcome screen. The editor comes up and I can see the workspace but then the error message comes up. I get the same error message when I try to launch the Editor from the Organizer.  The error message states: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if the solution is available"  I have LR 4 loaded on my machine and do most of my editing there. I tried to open the Editor to create a blank canvas and got this error message. I also get the error message when trying to open a photo in the editor directly from lightroom.  When I attempt to run updates for PSE 11 I get the following error message: "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or hte internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again alter. Error Code: u41m1c212
LR has just started to launch in full screen mode on my iMac without any opportunity to minimize it or move to another program. I would like it to launch like it used to where I can control the window size but can't seem to figure out how to get back to that capability. I have an iMac running Mountain Lion. LR is the only program effected as Photoshop still launches the old way.
I have been using Ps-CC for about 2 month now with no problems and now this starts to happen. I have tried rebooting my PC to no avail. Should I uninstall PS-cc and reinstall and are there special instructions for this?
When Lighroom launches the first screen is a "Select a Catalog" Screen. Can the various entries in this screen be edited or deleted? How? Can the list of catalogs therein be cleared?
Can someone please explain to me about file sizes and image dimensions. I have to put together a collage which is 165mm high by 258mm wide. If I click file new and choose default resolution (72) then the file size is ok, if I type in 300 dpi the image becomes huge.
If i chosse 300 dpi then the images I was going to use seem tiny on such a vast workspace - Im confused why does the canvas become so large when changing resolution?
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 10.0.1.  When launching, the window labeled "Adobe Design Suite Premium CS3" opens - it's only filled with white, and no text or graphics (I think it's usually the window asking me if I want to register, which always comes up when I launch the program (rather annoying in itself). However, now it seems that the launch gets "hung" on this window, as, even the the program starts, all the menus are grayed out, and I can't open any files or do anything. Also, the window mentioned above only has the yellow "minimize" button available in the top left corner, so I can't close it or otherwise get rid of it. Since even the Quit function is grayed out, I have to quit the program with a force quit. Also, this same thing happens in my other CS3 programs (In Design) as well.  I tried trashing the photoshop plist file (com.adobe.photoshop.plist) and also the com.adobe.118.registration file, which had no effect.
After connecting to a flat screen TV for a presentation yesterday, the Photoshop CS6 application frame I was working on suddenly had the bottom edge below the screen on my MacBook Pro.
I can uncheck Application Frame in Window to free up the project, but with it checked I cannot find a way to reach the bottom of the frame and the scale input control. Also cannot reach the lower layers in the layer menu.
For the print module it seems as if Lightroom assumes a screen resolution of 96 ppi. My screen is 94 ppi, so the ruler and the prints are shown slightly smaller on the screen than reality. I would like to see the actual print size on the screen. Can the screen resolution be set, like the Unit & Rulers -> Screen Resolution setting in PS?  I am using LR 3.6.
So I had VS x3 and it started to give me serious problems, i.e. no longer able to export to MPEG-HD, So now I have X4 thinking it would resolve my issues, but no. Now I cannot even launch X4, as soon as it opens I get an 'unexpected error, program needs to close' message. It freezes immediately, and I cannot even open any menu items. I have tried removing and reinstalling QuickTime 7.55, also tried updating my codecs and uninstalled/reinstalled VSx4, none of that worked. I installed this program on my desktop, and it works fine there but ther only difference there is my desktop runs Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and my Alienware M11x runs Windows 7 Home Prem 64-bit.
I am redesigning my website. and i know when yo design for a certain resolution youave to take a few things in consideration. I know that even if the res. is set to 800x600 you loose a lot of space due to the toolbars, scrollbars and windows status bars so you woul effectively have to set the image parameters at something like 740x420 or something (please correct me if inaccurate) so what i wanted to know is... what is the modified size for a screen resolution of 1024x768? also should i design for the 800x600 people or for the 1024x768 people?
I am running CS4 on an 8 processor, 3 GHz machine with an nvidia fx3700 and a screen that offers 2600 x 1900 resolution. With all this power, the package is much slower than CS3 on a lap top. One can actually see the action of one's paintbrush trailing centimetres behind the cursor.
Well, we can perhaps live with this, with the leaping menu bar and the many other oddities until Adobe fix the thing. However, what isa truly hard to accept is that it is impossible to resize the tool icons, symbols on the tool bars, silly menu stud-type things of floating menu items so as to allow work at high resolution. Drop down menus follow what we have told Windows to apply, and are thus legible. Anything in the application GUI is, however, invisibly small at 2600 x 1900, Even MS Office 2000 - ten years old - allows you to resize the icons and tools, for heavens sake, but it appears that a modern package that is aimed explicitly at people who work with images cannot do so. It all seems deeply retrograde, an instance where 'new' equals 'worse'.
Perhaps I have missed something: so does anyone know how to resize the various menus and tools so that they can be read without a magnifying glass?
I'm considering purchasing a new 21.5-inch iMac that comes equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR5 memory. Will this graphics card be sufficient to run Photoshop CS6?
Since the last adobe update;  Every time I save as a PDF I get 2 error messages:  This file does not have a program associated with it to perform this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default program control panel.  Then this comes up after as an additional message;  This service does not have sufficient privileges, please reinstall.  This has only started happedning since the adobe update.
I have a 1920x1080, 17.4 laptop. That is approx 126.6 ppi screen resolution if my calculkations are correct...So in order to set PS to display real size of the images according to the zoom, I go to edit / preferences / units & rulers and set the screen resolution to 126.6 instead of the default 72ppi. Â But nothing changes...what am I doing wrong? 100% zoom is still showing much larger image than real (as if 72ppi screen resolution was unchanged). I have tried extreme ppi like 10 and 1000 to see if anything chaged but still nothing, I have restarted Ps and the laptop, and the preferences are correctly saved but zoom still wrong..
