Mar 29, 2012with CS5, if I single-clicked on, say, my desktop while I had Photoshop running (with no PSD files open), the whole app would just go away so I could get stuff done without having to look at the big old empty shell of the app.
maybe the app is somehow interpreting a previous "persist application frame" pref I ticked somewhere but can no longer access (although I don't remember ever ticking something like that). Either way, it seems that I now need to either option-click on the desktop (I have to do it on my other display), or key in the "Hide Photoshop" command to get the app out of my way so I can do other stuff (I frequently toggle between multiple apps). is there a way to make the application frame not persistent?

Illustrator :: AI Document Is Opening With A Blank Window?
Jun 14, 2012I have a customer that sent me some Illustrator files (.ai) that, when I open them, they open with just a blank window and a box with no fill or stroke around the outside of the document. I am using Illustrator CS4 and I suspect this may be an Illustrator CS6 document but I didn't get any warnings when I opened it so I'm not sure. (I also don't know what version of Illustrator the original creator is using). The document sizes are large (35MB +) so there should be SOME content in them. I've tried making sure nothing is hidden and there are no layers that are turned off. I've also tried opening the files in Acrobat CS4 with no luck.

Nov 19, 2012I am creating printable PDF files and up to yesterday I was using a free trial of PSE 10. To create a multi page document I first saved it as a PSE project file, then added blank pages, then when I was done I saved it as a PDF and voila - done!
Now my trial has run out I have bought the paid version (which is now version 11) and I seem to have lost that option entirely. The product is useless to me without a way to create multi page PDFs
Alternatively can I downgrade back to PSE10 which was fine for me!

Jun 19, 2013Recently my Photoshop has decided that it no longer likes Background Layers so every time I open a jpg file in Photoshop CS6 it opens the file as a layer instead of a bakcground layer.
It's a small issue but when you are working with 100+ photos that need a quick edit and save it becomes incredibly annoying to have to reset the file type I want to save to or adjust the layer back to a background layer with each photo. When I'm doing it once or twice it's no big deal but those extra few steps become time consuming when I work in bulk and I work on a tight deadline.
It's only doing it with some files. Mostly the newer ones. Any older jpgs I open are fine but anything new is opened as a regular layer.
Is there some sort of setting I accidentally clicked without realising it? Because I have looked everywhere I can think of and fiddled with settings all over the place but something missing.

Also, I can't open the program because when I do, it comes up with a box saying "The serial number 12345678987654321 is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You must deactivate another computer or provide another valid serial number to use Photoshop CS6 Extended again on this computer." how to deactivate it without having to open the application, and uninstalling it doesn't deactivate it.

Sep 17, 2013The Elements 11 Organizer icon in my Applications folder has a circle with a slash through it and when I click on it I get the error 'You can't open the application "Adobe Elements 11 Organizer" because it is not supported on this type of Mac.' The packaging for the software clearly states it is compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I did an uninstall and reinstalled with no other programs running, but still have the same problem. I originally had this software installed on an older Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard with no problems at all.
I am able to open Elements 11 Editor, however, when I try to open a raw file from my Panasonic Lumix LX7 I get the error 'Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.' Once again, I had no problem opening this file on my Mac Mini and the Lumix LX7 is a supported camera. I am able to open a NEF file from my Nikon D5100, and I am able to open a JPEG file from the Lumix.

May 19, 2012I'm running a Windows 7 64 bit system with 6gb of ram. I am using PS CS6. Every time I open an image there are large blank squares in it. I can fill in the squares by clicking in the area using the "Move" tool, I would of course to just have my images open the way they should.
