I have been running corel x5 for about 2 years now and all of a sudden I tried to open a new blank document and it crashed the program saying that Corel Draw has encountered a problem and needs to close??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have CoreDraw X5 installed on my computer. A friend of mine e-mailed me a CorelDraw document she created. I am un able to open it. When I try to open it, CorelDraw opens but does not display the document. So the application is open and I see all the toolbars and everything but the space where I would see the document is grey. I have received CorelDraw documents by e-mail form other friends before without any problem, so it is not the e-mail that is the issue.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt crashes without warning, it just closed... that's all.It happens whenever I try to:- Save (either clicking on the save button or using CTRL+S)- Group (with CTRL+G or by clicking on the Group button after right click), I've tried to remove the "Pattern" and I can group finally, but still closed when I try to save.I try to remove any fillings but still closes when saving (but it didn't got saved at all)I've browsed through the forums and tried everything... nothing works. Even un-install and re-install didn't work.
It even closes when I try to save a blank page (with only an object like rectangle or something on it)
Have some pics in X4 on Windows 7 but same are not opening in X 12/ Windows 8.
When copied from X4/Windows7 and pasted in X12/Windows 8, icon showing blank and on opening a blank document opens.

when I create a new blank document, it size always become multiply of 10 (example Page size A4 = 2100mm x 2970mm) and in the document, when I draw a new object, it will automatical multiply with 10, too. I'm using Windows 7, and I never seen this problem before, when I using Windows XP!
When I try and publish a image or document to PDF it produces a blank PDF document.
I have tried using Bullzip PDF printer but that also produced a blank PDF.

all of my Cdr files be corrupted . they show their real size (eg 23mb ) but when i open them it show white page. Even the tumbnail pic shows only corel draw pencil and when i want open them on corel or import in it This error message appears : D: 01.cdr" is not importable using the selected filter, or this format is not supported
How do I get X5 to open with a new blank page as default?
If I enable the welcome screen it asks me what I want to open but if I disable it all I get is a grey area and I have to go to the drop down file menu ans select 'new page'.
I have had this program for several years and no problems until yesterday. My computer, win7, 64 bit, did an automatic update. Now my corel draw will not run and the following error report appears.

I have no idea what this message means. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled, rebooted and still the same message comes up. I use this program almost everyday, so, of course, now I'm unable to produce art for clients.
My PC is Dell Studio XPS 8100, 64 bit and Windows 7.
I´m trying to open a file that comes with a cd. Windows explorer tells me the file was produced with coreldraw 5. but when i try to open it coreldraw x6 crashes immediately (x64).

i´d be very lucky if you tell me with which version of coreldraw you were able to open this file and/or how to avoid crashing of coreldraw x6 on my computer.
I saved a book a friend of mine worked on using coreldraw 12 on a cd and tried to open it in X6 but it won't open. I think My sys. Os is a 32 bit, I have a trial version of x6 on this comp. and full version 12 on another. When I ok convert to bitmap Error message says invalid file format.

Now, I can't get it to open new documents, and when it says it's "processing" to open old documents.. It doesn't really make any progress, and nothing every opens.
Then it will say that corel is not responding ...
On my PC running Windows Vista Ultimate with an Nvidia GEForce GT 545 video adapter, when I attempt to resize the Open File window in CorelDraw X5 to see more of the file information, the window starts rapidly flashing and opens a stack of same window. System response is slowed when trying to close or cancel the window, and it will display "Not Responding" for several seconds before it clears. CorelDraw X5 itself also has trouble closing. I repeated this 3 times and had the same thing happen, so it is not a random event. Not sure whether it is CorelDraw conflicting with the Nvidia driver or something else. The only workaround I found was to use Windows Explorer to view the additional file information, such as date modified or other metadata.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Coreldra X4 on a windows vista machine. Lately I started having a courious problem with Coreldraw x4. When a try to open a cdr file before opening CDX4 i get an error message saying that the file dos not exist. after this CDX4 crashes.
On the other side if I open CDX4 and then try to open the very same cdr file everything is ok.
I successfully installed CorelDraw X6 but I am unable to open it. It starts to load and then it crashes. At first I thought it was a bad install, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won't open. Norton AV was turned off during both installs. I have searched and see that quite a few users have the same problem but I haven't found a cause or solution. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, Intel i7, 16 GB ram.

At some early point, before I was at all familiar with CorelDRAW, I closed the document palette, and ever since then it does not open automatically when I start the program or open a document. I have had to open it manually, and I can't seem to find a way to make it open by default.

I did not install in the default location, which is impossible on my configuration due to disk space limitations (I only make my "C" drive big enough for Windows. Saves time for the inevitable reformat that comes in the life of a Windows machine). I installed it on a separate drive: F:CorelCorel VideoStudio Pro X3...I am using 64-bit Win7 Ultimate.
I have a customer that sent me some Illustrator files (.ai) that, when I open them, they open with just a blank window and a box with no fill or stroke around the outside of the document. I am using Illustrator CS4 and I suspect this may be an Illustrator CS6 document but I didn't get any warnings when I opened it so I'm not sure. (I also don't know what version of Illustrator the original creator is using). The document sizes are large (35MB +) so there should be SOME content in them. I've tried making sure nothing is hidden and there are no layers that are turned off. I've also tried opening the files in Acrobat CS4 with no luck.

I use to design posters in a different program and what ever i drew stayed one the page it didn't disapear unless i place another object on top.
I am a long time user of Corel products (well, since Corel 4). I have been running Corel 12 for several years, as financially, as a pensioner it is not viable to keep up grading and 12 has been perfectly adequate. I am on Windows 7 Home premium, and I know that 12 was not designed for that platform, however it has been operation satisfactorily since 7 came out. Today, It has crashed, and I am unable to open photopaint at all either from the shortcut or the program list.
(Corel Draw, which is the only other part of the suite I use) appears to open and be available. I tried to repair with the original disk to no avail, so that having failed I did an uninstall, cleared the caches the temporary files and did a clean install. Corel Draw is still working, but Paint will not open at all. The logo appears then totally disappears after a few seconds leaving the desktop clear. There has been no changes to the computer recently and until last night the program was working fine.
When I double-click a .cdr file CorelDraw opens but the file doesn't. I just get an empty workspace as if I had opened Draw & closed the welcome screen.
