Apr 23, 2010When I double-click a .cdr file CorelDraw opens but the file doesn't. I just get an empty workspace as if I had opened Draw & closed the welcome screen.

View 14 RepliesIf I double click a CDR file and CorelDraw X5 is not open, it will open and the file will be loaded. But once Draw is open and minimized and I double click a second file from Explorer or on my desktop, the second file refuses to open in Draw. I have to Restore Draw and either use the file open command or double click the file again from Explorer once it's restored.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Photoshop CC 64 on a Windows 7 64 machine and am only able to open files in Photoshop by going to File->Open. Double-clicking from Explorer doesn't work and i can not drag/drop files into the open application window or taskbar icon. Right clicking on files and selecting "Open with" also doesn't work.
I checked file associations and made sure to choose CC 64. If I right click on the shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator" which I have to do in order to get files to open between Lightroom and Photoshop (both need to be Run As Administrator), I'm still unable to open from Windows Explorer. However, if I check the box to "Run this program as administrator" in the shortcut's Compatibility tab, I can double-click to open from Explorer but am prompted with a UAC warning every time. Dragging/dropping into the open app still doesn't work.
Opening between Bridge and PS works as expected so long as both programs are "Run As Administrator"
The user is running Autocad 2010, and she was able to perform this function last week. Nothing has changed, and a system reboot did not correct the issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen many messages about this problem, for people using Corel X5 (and maybe X3 and X6) and Windows XP.
You double-click on the .CDR file name, but instead of the file opening, you get this error message:
If I drag the file to CorelDRAW, it opens. Same applies to .JPG and other files associated with PHOTO-PAINT.
I love CorelDRAW, but I'm convinced this is a BUG that seems to be ignored. It's been around for years. It's basic to how Corel works and works with Windows--I don't understand why they don't fix it. This is quite an annoyance; the good thing is I can always open the file by dragging it.
CorelDRAW version is 15.2.0.695. WinXP is Professional Version 2002, SP3. Found no answer in the Corel Knowledgebase. Never had this problem with CorelDRAW v.2-12.
Under Windows XP I've installed Photoshop CS2 and CS6 simultaneously, therefore two programs with the same name exist:
...Photoshop CS2photoshop.exe
...Photoshop CS6photoshop.exe
By double click I want to open a *.TIF image by Photoshop CS2 (for certain reasons). I know how to assign an execution program to a file type in Windows XP. Whatever I do – pointing to the CS2 version – the operating system reverts always to the CS6 version. The same problem for In Design and Illustrator.
I made my plug-in for Autocad 2012.I register my plug-in in registry and so it's autoloaded. If I open Autocad I saw my toolbar, my message from IExtensionApplication.Initialize and all my commands (marked as [assembly: CommandClass) works fine. No problem.
BUT! If I open autocad file by double click - autocad opened. Now I saw my toolbar, saw my message from Initialize! But any commands didn't work. Autocad said that command is unknown. What can be a problem? My be in Autocad version? I have student version and startup message about it.
I just moved Photoshop CS6, Bridge CS6, and Lightroom 4.1 to a new MacBook Pro Retna running Lion 10.7.4Camera Raw 7.1 is installed.
If I double-click a JPG image in Bridge or Mini-Bridge, it will open in Photoshop. If I select a JPG image in Lightroom 4.1 and then select "Edit In" Photoshop CS6, I will get the normal dialog box that asks "What to Edit" with the three options. The image then appears in Photoshop.
If I double-click a CR2 (Canon 5D mk III) image in Bridge or Mini-Bridge nothing happens (the image does NOT open in Camera Raw).If I select a CR2 (same camera) in Lightroom 4.1 Photoshop immediately opens (no "What to Edit" dialog), no image appears in Photoshop and Camera Raw is not launched. If I select a CR2 (same camera) in the Mac Finder, Photoshop is launched with the image in Camera Raw.
How can I fix the behavior of Lightroom, Bridge, and Mini-bridge?
I can no longer open Photoshop jpegs by double clicking on the icon, I must go in through the program and find the file name - how can I restore the function short of a re-install which will goof up my preferences, (and possibly be an older version and need updating)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince installing CS6 about a month ago, when I double-click on an image and PS is closed, PS will launch but the image doesn't open. If PS is already open, double-clicking works properly. This was an upgrade install and I'm running Mac OS 10.6.8.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to have lost the functionallity of double-clicking on an image placed in CDR X5 to automatically edit in Photopaint. The checkbox in tools/options/edit is checked and photopaint can certainly be opened in the Application Launcher but double-click does nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if some users have the same problem : when I vectorize manually a bitmap with the polyline tool of CorelDraw X6, sometimes I have two nodes very close (I don't understand why because I do one click with my mouse...). I change my mouse without improvement.Do you know a macro to clean my polylines and to transform the "double" nodes in a single node (adjusting the gap distance) ? The reduce nodes feature in CorelDraw is not nice to do that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRunning Mac os x Mountain lion (latest release 10.8.3 I believe) and Latest release of Gimp (just installed last week 2.8.4)
If I double click and open a file (file format doesn't matter, jpg, tiff, xcf etc) the file opens gimp and it opens correctly.
However If once gimp is open I try and double click on another file it pops up an error "The document "text.xcf" could not be opened. Gimp Cannot open files in the "Gimp Image" format.
If I then close gimp and double click that same file it opens gimp and the files opens as normal.
It doesn't matter if i'm logged in as administrator or a regular user. I've tried downloading the program and copying it back to the app folder again.
Perhaps I need to wipe out the GIMP folder in ~/Library/Application Support ?
Any project I save cannot be opened later. When I try to open .cdr or template file I get the message ''CorelDRAW X6 (64-Bit) has stopped working. A problem...etc...please close the program''
I noticed that this first happened in projects that had text on them but now I can't open any .cdr file.
My system specs:
Intel Core i7 2600 3,40 GHz
RAM 16GB DD3
ATI Sapphire 6870 1G VRAM
SSD OCZ 120GB Sata III
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Illustrator CS4
I'm not exactly sure what happened, but suddenly my Type Tool can not select type by double clicking or click and drag any more.
I'm using Illustrator CS4 (14.0.0) on a MacPro with OSX 10.6.8.
I have noticed that when I click on any button on the Ribbon Panels it now requires more that one click to activate the button.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince we updated to CC, I have a very good chance of this not working evey time I try it. Maybe 10% of the time, it will select the word/line as it should. My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI double-click on a image file associated with Photoshop, or use "Open With" to select Photoshop, the Photoshop program starts but the file does not open. Also, when Photoshop opens I get a window that says, "One or more files in the Adobe Photoshop Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
I cannot re-install, so I need to find what file is missing and copy it from my other Mac.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere are really two problems here:
1) If I double click on a file, it opens in Illustrator, but it does not open with my default workspace settings. If I open the file from the file menu, my preferred workspace opens.
and
2) If I have one file open, I cannot double click on a second file and have that file open in Illustrator. I just get the little spinning circle and then it stops. I can still open a second file from the file/open menu option.
We are using CS6 and running windows 7.
I have Windows XP/Pro with SP3. In File Options > File Types I have JPG set to open up in Photoshop CS4; alas, when JPG files are either in Outlook as attachments or on the desktop, nothing happens when I double click them. My workaround is to drag the file icon into CS4, and this only works from the desktop, not from Outlook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with a device that can import plt files & it converts that to a tool path in G-Code. works like a champ. but some data, most text (single line font), is converted two times. This makes the tool do the work twice and its pretty inconvenient to manually delete the doubled up G-Code Lines.
I am pretty sure the duplication is done at the Corel export level and not in the translator of the machine. I have been working with the export settings with no success.
