If I double click a CDR file and CorelDraw X5 is not open, it will open and the file will be loaded. But once Draw is open and minimized and I double click a second file from Explorer or on my desktop, the second file refuses to open in Draw. I have to Restore Draw and either use the file open command or double click the file again from Explorer once it's restored.
View 10 RepliesI seem to have lost the functionallity of double-clicking on an image placed in CDR X5 to automatically edit in Photopaint. The checkbox in tools/options/edit is checked and photopaint can certainly be opened in the Application Launcher but double-click does nothing.

I change my mouse without improvement.Do you know a macro to clean my polylines and to transform the "double" nodes in a single node (adjusting the gap distance) ? The reduce nodes feature in CorelDraw is not nice to do that.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am working with a device that can import plt files & it converts that to a tool path in G-Code. works like a champ. but some data, most text (single line font), is converted two times. This makes the tool do the work twice and its pretty inconvenient to manually delete the doubled up G-Code Lines.
I am pretty sure the duplication is done at the Corel export level and not in the translator of the machine. I have been working with the export settings with no success.
I've seen many messages about this problem, for people using Corel X5 (and maybe X3 and X6) and Windows XP.
You double-click on the .CDR file name, but instead of the file opening, you get this error message:
If I drag the file to CorelDRAW, it opens. Same applies to .JPG and other files associated with PHOTO-PAINT.
I love CorelDRAW, but I'm convinced this is a BUG that seems to be ignored. It's been around for years. It's basic to how Corel works and works with Windows--I don't understand why they don't fix it. This is quite an annoyance; the good thing is I can always open the file by dragging it.
CorelDRAW version is 15.2.0.695. WinXP is Professional Version 2002, SP3. Found no answer in the Corel Knowledgebase. Never had this problem with CorelDRAW v.2-12.
Under Windows XP I've installed Photoshop CS2 and CS6 simultaneously, therefore two programs with the same name exist:

By double click I want to open a *.TIF image by Photoshop CS2 (for certain reasons). I know how to assign an execution program to a file type in Windows XP. Whatever I do – pointing to the CS2 version – the operating system reverts always to the CS6 version. The same problem for In Design and Illustrator.

BUT! If I open autocad file by double click - autocad opened. Now I saw my toolbar, saw my message from Initialize!But any commands didn't work. Autocad said that command is unknown. What can be a problem? My be in Autocad version? I have student version and startup message about it.
In Windows 7 I used to be able to see thumbnails of the first page CDR files in Windows Explorer. Now in Windows 8 all I can see is a blank.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed X6 tonight and I'm now having trouble with my Extra Large Icons in Windows Explorer. When I switch to extra large icons the first few show up correctly (CDR, JPG, GIF, etc.) but most of the rest of the GIFs and JPGs show as Corel icons. I can refresh, reload, and they still stay Corel icons. The only way to get the preview thumbnails again is to switch back to large or medium icons and then refresh. But if I switch back to extra large icons I get the same thing again. What's particularly odd is that all the Corel file formats preview correctly as extra large icons, but only a few of the GIFs and JPGs do. I have already removed and reinstalled X6 and the Corel Windows Shell Extension.
If you run the Icon size slider up, the preview thumbnails for the GIFs and JPGs change to Corel Photopaint icons as soon as you go above large icon size.
I have Win7 Pro running on an Intel i7-3820 and have updated Corel to the X6.2.
Also, I do not have any icon viewer applications installed.
I browsed around a bit and didn't see this particular problem listed.
Q When I import an EPS file into CorelDRAW, and print to a non-PostScript printer, the output appears pixelated and unclear. Why?
A An EPS file is a Postscript (PS) file and meant to be printed to a PostScript printer. When printed to a non-PostScript printer, it will only print the file header which is a low resolution preview of the actual file. If you wish to print the actual contents of the EPS file to a non-PostScript printer, import the file it into CorelDRAW using the PostScript Interpreted (PS, PRN, EPS) filter.So, apparently it can be done, but when I try to import this file into my Coreldraw, there is no option to import with that type of filter that I can see. Is this something that is missing in v12? If v12 wont do it, is there any other way to import this file without it coming in all pixellated? Or is there another way to convert the file into a format such as .plt?

It seems it cant be opened or something like that. But anyway it still sizes 2,94MB, so I am hopeful to recover it.It was a lot of work for me wasted. I tried to convert it to x5 format in URL....
When I want to flick from one file to another in X5 draw the tab to bring up the second file is hidden behind the open one, is there a way or a short cut to save me having to minimise my open file to see the tab to maximise the second?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using Corel Draw and Photo-Paint for many years, on many versions of Windows, and as far as I remember, Windows Explorer has always shown a thumbnail for a .cpt file instead of the plain icon.
I've now got a Windows 7 machine (professional version 64 bit), and .cpt files show up as plain white icons, instead of thumbnails.
I use Corel X5 and I don't have any problem.One of my suppliers use version X3.When I save files for this supplier, I saved them in version X3 format. But when he open the file, some graphics are missing.
I can't see where the problem come from. When I re-open the version X3 file with Corel X5, the file look fine and everything is there.The supplier keep saying that the problem is on my side. I asked him to upgrade to X5 as I think it should solve the problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Coreldra X4 on a windows vista machine. Lately I started having a courious problem with Coreldraw x4. When a try to open a cdr file before opening CDX4 i get an error message saying that the file dos not exist. after this CDX4 crashes.
On the other side if I open CDX4 and then try to open the very same cdr file everything is ok.
I have just discovered after installing CorelDraw X6 update 3, that opening previous files containing cloned objects results in:
I should add that this is far more than a minor irritation. We have thousands of files with cloned objects which need to be accessed and modified over the next few weeks - it will be devastating if there is no quick workaround or fix.
Every time when i open a .cdr, coreldraw open the file in same file that i have been open before.

Existing cdr files are taking up to an hour to load. I've deinstalled and reinstalled, to no avail.
I can view a thumbnail of the file, but the file will not open.

I used the trail version of 15 to create files. I found a good deal on 14 and bought that. However none of my 15 files will open in 14. Is there a way to change the property of the 15 file to make it open in 14?

I used Apple Mail 5.2 to attach the jpeg file but my problem is the client cannot open the file. It just turns out blank with a little cross. I cannot figure out what is the problem during the export process. I have no problem at all with X3.

Problem is this time it happened with a file I spend a long time working on. I tried unzipping and opening riffData.cdr with no luck. I've uploaded the file. It is a complex drawing with over 20 pages including vector and bitmap objects.
