Draw freezes upon file 'Open'. Status bar locks indefinitely.
Solution Attempts:
1. PRESSED F8!!!!
2. deleted all macros
3. rebooted
4. cleaned out temp files
5. checked for bad fonts

Is there a way to have the status bar show up whenever a file is printing or saving. So far the only way it shows up is if you click on the little icon at the bottom right of the window.
I don't know why it happens but whenever I start Corel it starts fine but after a while the color information disappears and says "Processing" until I restart it. I have uninstalled, F8, latest updates, the whole bit. I work in the sign business so I must be crazy.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have this weird problem where some objects won't work like the usual. The original pic is like this,but when I see it in thumbnail in windows explorer, some objects are missing but they're still there when you open the file!
I marked the status bar, in those missing objects it says "Curve on Desktop" while other objects of corelDraw, no matter what kind of file, they're always written as "Curve on Layer 1".
And then when I Ctrl+G all the objects above in pic 1, all those objects with Curve on Layer 1 and Curve on Desktop, it becomes like this: I don't know what happened. When I made the shape in the 1st pic, I used old file with similar shape, I only edit the sizes & the colors, but previous File is just fine, only this one looks weird.

Back in x3 and earlier versions, bottom of workspace, you had a option for Object Details and Object Information it would display the font used & Size used if you made a rectangle it would give it's sizes h & w
How do I get this set back up in x5, running win7 64 bit.
In Corel draw, I click file, open, and the location is not the folder I want. I have created shortcuts. How to change this.

A An EPS file is a Postscript (PS) file and meant to be printed to a PostScript printer. When printed to a non-PostScript printer, it will only print the file header which is a low resolution preview of the actual file. If you wish to print the actual contents of the EPS file to a non-PostScript printer, import the file it into CorelDRAW using the PostScript Interpreted (PS, PRN, EPS) filter.So, apparently it can be done, but when I try to import this file into my Coreldraw, there is no option to import with that type of filter that I can see. Is this something that is missing in v12? If v12 wont do it, is there any other way to import this file without it coming in all pixellated? Or is there another way to convert the file into a format such as .plt?

It seems it cant be opened or something like that. But anyway it still sizes 2,94MB, so I am hopeful to recover it.It was a lot of work for me wasted. I tried to convert it to x5 format in URL....
When I want to flick from one file to another in X5 draw the tab to bring up the second file is hidden behind the open one, is there a way or a short cut to save me having to minimise my open file to see the tab to maximise the second?

A week ago I have installed service pack 3 and everything worked fine. It has all gone wrong again. And installation of the latest patches does not work anymore.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I've got a feeling that is must have something to do with system updates.
I use Corel X5 and I don't have any problem.One of my suppliers use version X3.When I save files for this supplier, I saved them in version X3 format. But when he open the file, some graphics are missing.
I can't see where the problem come from. When I re-open the version X3 file with Corel X5, the file look fine and everything is there.The supplier keep saying that the problem is on my side. I asked him to upgrade to X5 as I think it should solve the problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Coreldra X4 on a windows vista machine. Lately I started having a courious problem with Coreldraw x4. When a try to open a cdr file before opening CDX4 i get an error message saying that the file dos not exist. after this CDX4 crashes.
On the other side if I open CDX4 and then try to open the very same cdr file everything is ok.
I have just discovered after installing CorelDraw X6 update 3, that opening previous files containing cloned objects results in:
I should add that this is far more than a minor irritation. We have thousands of files with cloned objects which need to be accessed and modified over the next few weeks - it will be devastating if there is no quick workaround or fix.
Every time when i open a .cdr, coreldraw open the file in same file that i have been open before.
How i can make coreldraw to open files into new files not into opened ones ?

Existing cdr files are taking up to an hour to load. I've deinstalled and reinstalled, to no avail.
I can view a thumbnail of the file, but the file will not open.

I used the trail version of 15 to create files. I found a good deal on 14 and bought that. However none of my 15 files will open in 14. Is there a way to change the property of the 15 file to make it open in 14?

I used Apple Mail 5.2 to attach the jpeg file but my problem is the client cannot open the file. It just turns out blank with a little cross. I cannot figure out what is the problem during the export process. I have no problem at all with X3.

Problem is this time it happened with a file I spend a long time working on. I tried unzipping and opening riffData.cdr with no luck. I've uploaded the file. I'm writing a manual using Corel Draw X5. The manual is 125 pages. When I spell check the whole document it freezes. I waited well over 20 minutes before concluding that something was wrong. Forcing Corel to close during the "not responding" state corrupts the document. When I try to reopen it, it hangs during the opening process.
I am fully updated on the software. Is this document too big for Corel Draw?
If I double click a CDR file and CorelDraw X5 is not open, it will open and the file will be loaded. But once Draw is open and minimized and I double click a second file from Explorer or on my desktop, the second file refuses to open in Draw. I have to Restore Draw and either use the file open command or double click the file again from Explorer once it's restored.
