Photoshop :: How To Turn Off Application Frame In Windows Version Of CS6
Nov 27, 2012
I have successfully turned off the Application Frame on my Mac version of CS6 but can not find the same functionality in my Windows version. How to turn off this feature in the Windows version?
with CS5, if I single-clicked on, say, my desktop while I had Photoshop running (with no PSD files open), the whole app would just go away so I could get stuff done without having to look at the big old empty shell of the app.
maybe the app is somehow interpreting a previous "persist application frame" pref I ticked somewhere but can no longer access (although I don't remember ever ticking something like that). Either way, it seems that I now need to either option-click on the desktop (I have to do it on my other display), or key in the "Hide Photoshop" command to get the app out of my way so I can do other stuff (I frequently toggle between multiple apps). is there a way to make the application frame not persistent?
i'm running cs6 under windows 7..yesterday i was watching a video tutorial about application frame feature but where is it? under window there is no mention to application frame , there is only options and tools..
I use two monitors, one for my canvus and the other for all my palettes. Which means my palettes are outside the application frame. With this setup, my mouse is very "jerky" when rolling over the layers palette, or others (takes a few sconds to notice). But once I move the palettes within the application frame the mouse is very smooth.I am able to produce this on two Macs.
My setup is: MacBook Pro 10.8.2 16 GB of ram AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB graphics
I've recently started working in the Application Frame and find that I now prefer this way of working. Is there any way to have the Application Frame hide when in another application?I find it annoying that the big, full-frame gray window persists when I'm using other applications.
It obscures the desktop and any other application windows that I'm not using, and so I can't use the Finder as I've become accustomed to using it.If there was a way to have the Application Frame hide when not in Photoshop I'd be a happy camper.
I am working in Photoshop CS 6 - I like to use the application frame option but it makes the frame too large and does not allow me to resize. How can I reduce the size?
I like the openness and ability to click my desktop behind the image I'm working on. I know how to turn it off, but how do I KEEP it off? Every time I close and reopen photoshop it's back on, and I saved my workspace to see if that would result in any changes but it didn't. Didn't ever run into this issue on CS6.
After connecting to a flat screen TV for a presentation yesterday, the Photoshop CS6 application frame I was working on suddenly had the bottom edge below the screen on my MacBook Pro.
I can uncheck Application Frame in Window to free up the project, but with it checked I cannot find a way to reach the bottom of the frame and the scale input control. Also cannot reach the lower layers in the layer menu.
I have a Windows 7 system,I have a trial version of CS6 extended. It has expired and I don't wish to continue with it at this time. I have a purchased Photoshop CS6 that now will not function. I tried to reload the Application Manager because it says it is corrupt. When I click on the link provided by Adobe I get this warning from my security software. Adobe Cleaner Tool.exe containing HEUR:Trojan.Win32.KillFiles.What do I need to do to get rid of the trial version and to get my old CS6 to function again?Do I need to completely erase PS CS6?
The Application Frame window opens up too tall on both my monitors. I cannot resize it nor access any of the tools at the bottom. Is there any other way to resize it except by grabbing it with the cursor and dragging the edge, since obviously I cannot do that when it sits offscreen?
I installed a clean, fresh version on my Mac. (No previous versions were ever installed). When I open Photoshop for the first time, everything runs fine: I can open files and edit as usual. As soon as I close it and re-open many things happen:
a) I can go to open a file, but with Window>Application Frame unchecked, I cannot see the open file. b) All other palletes go awry. I cannot change the open palletes and or edit anything. c) If I check Window>Application Frame, everything is back to normal. No problems here.
I have a Visual Basic 6.0 Project , to manage CAD Data I want to open a file in Autocad
1) in VB6 , I add Project / Reference / Autocad 2006 Type Library
2) I use following code (see below) , to select application , start Autocad if not already started , open File
3) I compile Mycode : MyCADProject.exe => start MyCADProject.exe , I select a DWG file and I can open the file in Autocad 2006 : OK
Problem , I have new PC one with Autocad 2010, one with Autocad 2009 (all other PC are with Autocad 2006) in My VB6 Project 1) I can not sellect both library "Autocad 2006 Type Library" and "Autocad 2007 Type Library" => I get a Windows error Message "Librairie déja utilisée" 2) If I select only one Library , this run well for one version of Autocad , but not fot the other version ! I want to manage only one version of MyCADProject.exe
Is is possible to run a VB6 project with different version of Autocad ?
Dim Acadapp As AcadApplication On Error Resume Next Set Acadapp = GetObject(, "AutoCAD.Application") If Err.Number <> 0 Then On Error GoTo 0 Set Acadapp = CreateObject("AutoCAD.Application") End If Acadapp.Documents.Open (Myfile) Acadapp.Visible = True
Running Illustrator CC on a Mac. I'm missing the maximize, minimize, and close buttons in the top left corner. I have an "Ai" symbol in the top left, which I thought was only on the PC version? All my tools disappear when I turn on application frame. I deleted the preferences file, no luck. When I hold down command shift option during startup of Illustrator it says "error loading plugins"..
All those users who have burned their fingers by the latest update to Illustrator 17.1, especially with respect to how the Reshape functionality works or how the Pencil tool behaves, there is a solution. After some digging around, I came across this page: [URL]
In short, follow these steps:
1) Uninstall the application from your computer using the application’s uninstaller. If you are not aware of their location, uninstallers reside in the same folder as your application. 2) From the Creative Cloud desktop application, begin to install any Creative Cloud application by clicking the “Install” button. 3) As soon as the application indicates it is “Updating”, click the “X” to cancel the process. 4) This leaves applications at the same version when Creative Cloud was first launched. 5) Go to the product updates site [URL] and then install the version of the application that suits your needs.
Let's get back to our jobs with 17.0 for now till the time Adobe fixes the mess they created with some thoughtful update in the future!
Where is the privacy setting for the trial version of cs6 photoshop. I would like to turn it off. The answers given by 'Staff' are incorrect - it is NOT located within Adobe Product Improvement Program! I use W7 64bit.
I was advised to download photoshop via adobe application manager as I have an XP OS. I even downloaded the application manager but now it fails to install saying "remote server not properly placed.Try after a few minutes" Whenever I retry I get the same message. Even I am getting the same message in case of installing adobe flash player. The installer always says installation not complete.
These Application Options settings change not infrequently and for reasons that I cannot be certain of:
Sketch: Enable Heads-up Display Edit Dimension when created Look at sketch...on...creation Part: No new sketch goes to x-y plane
This may happen after when I open parts from Inventor 2011 (maybe 2010) into 2012, then create a new part. I would expect the 2012 App Options to be the master, so I don't know why a legacy part would be allowed to change those settings.

it is the first time that i am installing GIMP on Windows, the problem is about application dialogs and menus alignment , i use Persian as my default windows language and it seems that GIMP detect my windows language and make all alignments to Right to Left as Persian default alignment , i tried to use the PreferencesInterfaceLanguage -> English United State but after reopen the application there is no change !
is it possible to force it to align everything in left to right alignment ?
I am using Windows 7 OS, running Photoshop CS6 standard 64 Bit, 12GB RAM, dual XEON 2.6ghz processors. I am experiencing problems with shortcuts. I also experienced the issues when using the Release candidate.
The issues I have: The shortcuts will work intermittently and appear to be effected when using the layers palette. The issue relates to things like pressing the J for clone or B for brush. Sometimes they work sometimes they dont. Other times I get a chime noise/beep sounding when pressing the [ ] keys to increase the brush size. the brush will increase/decrease. The fix is normally to select the tool with the mouse and all is well for a while
I seem to have found a pattern when this occurs - and is when I have been using the layers palette. An issue I can reproduce. For example I duplicate a layer, then select the new layer - add a blending mode then click on the new layer, old layer and try the merge shortcut - nothing happens. Sometimes I get the chime noise as well but still no merge. If I click off the layers palette and then attempt the above - the merge works perfectly.
Equally if I attempt the merge of the layers without first clicking off the layers, and try to select say B (brush) I get the chime and the tool is not selected. Other times no chime and the tool is not selected. Again using the mouse to select it works ok
What was an inconvenience is a real pain now, as I am slowing down to do the click off layers trick or double checking the tool is the correct one I am trying to use.
Things Ive tried/figured out:
Ive ensured the kit Im running is technically sound and is not being created by a performance issue.I can reproduce this fault on different computers (all windows) I have tried resetting the workspace and removing all but the layers pallet, but the issue remains Ive even replaced the keyboard!! Even though the keyboard only has an issue in Photoshop. When running CS5 I did not have this issue, but the RC and the final version of CS6 displays this feature Ive closed all apps, with the exception of CS6 Photoshop to work out if is was an incompatibility - feature remains Seems to be related to using the layers palette, when not using the palette .
i developed a windows form based stand alone application in Vb.net 2010 that calculates all the geometry data needed for a Spur Gear ,my final goal is to send all Calculated data needed in Autocad 2012 and draw automatticly the Spur Gear.
At first i started to experiment my self with a simple only task (created a new project only for this) to draw 4 circles with the same center (radius1,2,3,4) in autocad with a simple click of the command button.
The code i used is the following (for 1circle) but it returned a error like this>> SendACommandToAutoCAD()-->>Could not load file or assembly 'Acmgd, Version=18.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I get file-tiff-save.exe & file-tiff-load.exe Application Error when opening Gimp 2.8.2 in windows 7 64-bit.The error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).
I have an older version of Adobe Photoshop (3.0, 1996) that I have tried to load under Windows 7 and under a "Parallells" WIndows 7 on a MAC OSX 10. Both give me an incompatibility message regarding a 32 bit application and a 64 bit application.
how I can use the older Photoshop under Windows 7.
My original Photoshop full version was v. 5. Since then, I've bought upgrade discs through CS3. Windows 7 won't accept my original version because it's too old, I guess, so I can't load any of the upgrades, either. How can I get around this so I can use Photoshop on my Windows 7 machine. I can't keep my XP laptop forever.
Let me know whether Adobe Photoshop CS6 of version 13 is compatible on Windows 7 64bit Operating System? In case if it is not compatible on Windows 7 64bit OS,then will there be any free upgrade provided by Adobe.
If not then what would be alternative product to be installed and the License cost details per head. Also please provide the URL or location from which the licensed product can be downloaded as well as the installation documentation.
I would like to determine if the installed version is CS4 or higher using the Windows Registry.I currently have Photoshop CS4 and CS6 installed on my computer. They appears as follow in the registry:
