My original Photoshop full version was v. 5. Since then, I've bought upgrade discs through CS3. Windows 7 won't accept my original version because it's too old, I guess, so I can't load any of the upgrades, either. How can I get around this so I can use Photoshop on my Windows 7 machine. I can't keep my XP laptop forever.
View 2 RepliesAfter saving a file as, say, an 8x10 @ 240 resolution, I want to save the image as a 4x5 @72 resolution in a different file that I can give to someone on a CD. However, the new file seems to retain the 240 resolution at a dramatically reduced size so the CD gets a too-small image (and the recipient doesn't have the software to gross it back up to a 4x5).
I assume this has something to do with cache, which I've tried purging generally and also for the individual file. I have CS6 on a Mac Pro with ample disk space and auxiliary drives to store old files, also with plenty of spare space.
I have edited photos and when I go back to the library the photo is the edited version. Is there a way to keep the original and the edited version?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a simple object that I want to morph between the original and a smaller version of the same thing.
I made two copies "start" and "finish". I then selected the original part and then Create/Compound objects/Morph. Under "Pick targets" I ticked "Copy" and then selected the first target ("start") and the second target ("finish") ready to set animation keys.
When I select the first target the original part moves randomly to another position in the scene. If I change the pivot point of the object it changes where it moves to but still moves it somewhere else in the scene?
If I move the original part back to the correct location the animation still has incorrect movement?
I wanted everyone to find it. In the older Windows programs, you can choose which program opens in editing, but in Windows 7 that feature is disabled. If you download the following program, click File Type Settings > Context Menu > then, for example "PNG" extension-- you can choose which program OPENS a PNG, which program EDITS a PNG, etc. That way you can view a photo in Windows Photo Viewer, but edit in Photoshop. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 OS, running Photoshop CS6 standard 64 Bit, 12GB RAM, dual XEON 2.6ghz processors. I am experiencing problems with shortcuts. I also experienced the issues when using the Release candidate.
The issues I have:
The shortcuts will work intermittently and appear to be effected when using the layers palette. The issue relates to things like pressing the J for clone or B for brush. Sometimes they work sometimes they dont. Other times I get a chime noise/beep sounding when pressing the [ ] keys to increase the brush size. the brush will increase/decrease. The fix is normally to select the tool with the mouse and all is well for a while
I seem to have found a pattern when this occurs - and is when I have been using the layers palette. An issue I can reproduce. For example I duplicate a layer, then select the new layer - add a blending mode then click on the new layer, old layer and try the merge shortcut - nothing happens. Sometimes I get the chime noise as well but still no merge. If I click off the layers palette and then attempt the above - the merge works perfectly.
Equally if I attempt the merge of the layers without first clicking off the layers, and try to select say B (brush) I get the chime and the tool is not selected. Other times no chime and the tool is not selected. Again using the mouse to select it works ok
What was an inconvenience is a real pain now, as I am slowing down to do the click off layers trick or double checking the tool is the correct one I am trying to use.
Things Ive tried/figured out:
Ive ensured the kit Im running is technically sound and is not being created by a performance issue.I can reproduce this fault on different computers (all windows) I have tried resetting the workspace and removing all but the layers pallet, but the issue remains Ive even replaced the keyboard!! Even though the keyboard only has an issue in Photoshop.When running CS5 I did not have this issue, but the RC and the final version of CS6 displays this feature Ive closed all apps, with the exception of CS6 Photoshop to work out if is was an incompatibility - feature remains Seems to be related to using the layers palette, when not using the palette .
Where can I find a Photoshop trial version for Windows XP? I think it shuold be CS4,

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using the CC version of AE on my MacBook Pro since the evening it came out and all seemed similar to previous AE versions on my home and work Macs, but I just switched to a high-powered Windows workstation and was surprised to see how indexed (not smooth) the CTI was on RAM-Preview. I couldn't care less about UI animation except that it is pretty distracting when watching animations play back aa there is a vertical red line jumping 15 frames at a time. The playback is smooth and previews aren't set to skip frames.
Why is this behavior so different than the OSX version? Can I fix it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedBack in the day, there was an application that showed the drawing version # in the icon in windows explorer. That was good for then, because of the lack of object data in many of the vertices. The link I have isn't valid anymore and it didn't work in Win7.
What I'd like to have is something that will show the different Acad versions related to the icon using the product ID, for example:
ACAD-5xxx = 2007
ACAD-6xxx = 2008
ACAD-7xxx = 2009
ACAD-8xxx = 2010
ACAD-9xxx = 2011
then in 2012 they changed to Axxx
2013 = Bxxx (???) I dont' have 2013 loaded
2014 = Dxxx (what happened to Cxxx?)
With the lack of backward compatibility between versions for objects (and I totally get that), it would be nice to be able to tell by an icon which version was used to create the drawing. I know the version information is stored in the header, which can be read, I'm just not a programmer.
When you select the option to apply any changes & overwrite your original photo does the program attempt to try to a default setting to keep the picture approximately the same size as it was before? (assuming that you haven't cropped it) If it doesn't default to a size automatically can is there an option to do so?

When contacting support, they say the SN is invalid and refer me here. I registered the SN three years ago, and it is no longer there. I have CS3 Dreamweaver, and InDesign which the registration is no loger in the myProducts file either. I haven't tested, but am assuming I will have a similar problem with them as well.

After level one of trouble shooting then more work with a Sr.?Tech last night we isolated that the folders and method of transferring my images from my Nikon D7000 may be causing the HRO & Photomerge function from not accepting
image files in some Folders.
A. Could be the port in my MacBook Pro has failed & is corruting the files.
B. Could be that when I take the origional image files out of the folder created by the Nikon Photoshop does not like that.
C. Photoshop does not like image files after they have been moved from one folder to another.
I cannot complete registering my products (2 machines -- two CS6), because Adobe does not accept my address as it is. How do I get around this, as it keeps coming back saying it doesn't comply with their format?
