However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." Do I need to change setting in Windows (Vista, SP2) or Photoshop Elements 11?

The Elements 5 ones were copied from my old hard disk to the new one - without using any version of Photoshop in the copying process. I believe that all the Adobe folders and files were copied, but I cannot work out which folder contains the photos.

Jan 27, 2013I recently upgradedfrom "Elements 2" to Version 11. I previously saved all my edited work in JPEG format and to the "My Pictures" folder. I was then able to open all modified photos and share them with another computer without resorting to any specialised program. I wish to continue to do the same using Version 11. Having made several attempts without success to save modified photos using my well tried and successful method and having read the Manual to see why the process is not successful with Version 11 I am now exteremely frustrated. Each attempt to save a modified photo results in a Thumbnail icon being loaded into the "My Pictures" folder with the elements 11 logo. I then are only able to open the photo (which incidently does not carry the modified file name from the original) by way of the elements 11 program.

This was very convenient when I had more than one source of photos for a certain event, like a vacation. This would change the "album order", which made it very convenient for creating photobooks or other projects where I wanted chronological order. I don't want to view by "Oldest first" in media view 1st before I save the album.

My problem is with a photo sent to me as an attachment to an email in another program (often Picasa). My question is - I would like to use Shutterfly's more extensive selections for this book (found on their website) and the first activity required is to "get" the photos. They are not easily found even though I look in my "My Pictures" library. and Shutterfly's website does not show Elements Organizer as a source for getting photos to add. (even though they appear as an option under the "Share" portion of Organizer.
