Nov 29, 2013I have Adobe elements version 8 and considering moving to version 12 can I transfer the catalog from version 8 to 12 and will all my Creations be saved in the transfer?

Mar 14, 2014I accidentally downloaded photos to PSE 11 and spent hours editing them before I realized I was in PSE 11 instead of PSE 12. I had already converted the PSE 11 catalog to PSE 12. I'm hoping there is a method to move the edited file from PSE 11 to PSE 12. Do I have any hope???

Nov 24, 2013I would like to move elements of that painting onto a separate layer. What is the best way to do this? An example of this would be a painting with the moon in a night sky. I might want to move that moon object into a separate layer.
My reason for wanting to do this is I want to change the background of the painting without worrying about doing fine details around the objects I am moving. A second benefit of moving the objects to a layer is that I can then easily move the location of those elements in the painting around, trying to reposition them.
can I get all of the elements I am moving onto a SINGLE layer AND still have the ability to move those elements around separately? If I want to move 10 elements in a painting to a separate layer, it is REALLY inconvenient to have to put those into 10 separate layers and constantly maintain naming of these different layers.

No problem.Now with 11 this doesn't happen. It doesn't happen with either Editor or Organizer. A search on these pages shows a similar problem with Elements 10. Apr 20, 2013I had a problem with some folders in my original catalog in PSE 11 so I created a new catalog that seems to be fine. However, I have quite a few edited raw files that I had saved in the version set with the original raw file using the old catalog. In the new catalog, the edited jpgs are not in with the original raw version. Is there something I could do to fix this? Also, I have not deleted the original catalog that I used.

May 6, 2013I am using PSE-11. I have been editing many pictures (cropping and enhancing) before I send them for printing. I select 6 or 8 images and send them all to the PSE-11 Editor. When I have done all the editing, I select CLOSE ALL and apply my answers to the first file to all of them. I want them to be in Version sets with the originals, and most of them are correct. However some images are stored, with the words 'edited-1' added, but they are not in Version sets, nor in the catalog. The Organizer tells me that it has found new files. Also, when saving some of the images, PSE-11 freezes and is shown as not responding for several minutes.
Yesterday, the Organizer froze for several minutes soon after I started using it.I am using my desktop PC: HP m9452p with Intel Core-2 Quad Q8200 processor, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB hard disk, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I have over 35000 images in my catalog.

Oct 23, 2013Saving edited pictures in PSE 12. Despite ticking the version set box the picture is saved a separate edited print and not in a version set. This has just started to happen, until two days ago prints were saved in a version set quite satisfactorily.

Oct 12, 2012I installed Photoshop Elements 11 today on to my new Windows 7 computer, but have been unable to access the photos, categories and slideshows which I had created in Elements 5 on my old Windows XP computer. The Elements 5 ones were copied from my old hard disk to the new one - without using any version of Photoshop in the copying process. I believe that all the Adobe folders and files were copied, but I cannot work out which folder contains the photos.
