View 5 Replies View RelatedI work at a design company and we just updated my system with version 6. I was previously working on 5 but when I pull items off of our server that were saved from my computer in version 5 it pops up a quick preview and then "Corel draw has stopped unexpectedly" However I can't just work from 5 because that's the reason why we upgraded my system to begin with. It was crashing out every 10 minutes (literally)
There's obviously a glitch here and it's starting to overwhelm me. We're on deadlines and I can't have my system crashing out. I need to be productive!
We have a vendor that is still using X3 or later. I currently have X4. Is there a way to default your save selection to save down a version?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and paid for the upgrade version of CorelDraw X6 because I have X3,X4 and X5. I have installed it already but I went to reinstall on my desktop PC as I wiped my hard drive back to factory state, CorelDRAW no longer gives the upgrade option.
On start up it gives the following message ( see below ) as a 30 day trial.

I am able to open the file in the upgraded version but it states that it will open as a student version. Also I cannot copy and paste anything from the student version to the upgraded one. Not sure why.

I have CorelDRAW X3 which allows you to specify a previous version, like CorelDRAW 11, but it is a pain to change the version to 11 every time I save the file. I cannot find a setting to make X3 default to version 11 when saving.
Is there some way to make CorelDRAW X3 default to CorelDRAW X11 when saving?
After I installed Photoshop CS 6 64 bit on my PC, I discovered I also needed the 32 bit version for twain support, so I then added the 32 bit version. My problem is now all tiff, PSD, etc. files in Windows Explorer as well as the "Edit In Photoshop" command in Lightroom defaults to and opens up the 32 bit version. How can I change this to default to the 64 bit version?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm just trying to put together a macro that will automate saving a selected group of objects to an AI file, however, I need it to be Compatible with version 8.
I've followed code from older posts to the forum and have successfully exported out a PNG file... I'm hoping to just alter that... here is what I have so far:
Set filter = ActiveDocument.ExportBitmap(path & filename, cdrAI, r, cdrPalettedImage, w, h, 96, 96, cdrNormalAntiAliasing, False, False, True, False, cdrCompressionNone)
With filter
.Finish
End With
What would I change to allow it to be compability with AI 8?

But now we have some PDFs that we can't open with the 64Bit version. If we try it the application crashes. But we are able to open the same files with the 32Bit version of Photoshop. We assume a bug in the 64Bit Version.

[URL].......
For example a shapefile could contain points, lines or polygons, and attributes for each point/line/whatever.
Now I need to convert shapefiles to an old version of the dxf format, I don't even know exactly what version so I'll have to find out by trial and error I guess. (But a gut feeling says somewhere in the 90's.)
Luckily there are tools to convert shapefiles to the modern versions of DXF, but where do I go from there?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Corel X5 and I don't have any problem. One of my suppliers use version X3.When I save files for this supplier, I saved them in version X3 format. But when he open the file, some graphics are missing.
I can't see where the problem come from. When I re-open the version X3 file with Corel X5, the file look fine and everything is there. The supplier keep saying that the problem is on my side. I asked him to upgrade to X5 as I think it should solve the problem.
I have always flattened everything out of CDR whenever there is any transparencies involved, this works fine, you just have to deal with large bitmaps. Now in recent discussions some respected contributors have touted using the X3 pdf setting with Compatibility set to Ver9. That works, transparencies print without the yellow box ....fine... but.
I design with CMYK colours ( I know.. BIG discussion that has been addressed many times) and use RGB images (because they are usually client supplied or our Stock site only supplies RGB).
My problem is in my PDF settings I have everything set to export as Native which works well on the Roland using Max Impact and even if I set compatibility to PDF Ver 9 transparency will still have the yellow box.
To get transparencies to work without flattening, everything has to be exported as CMYK and as you know RGB blue goes purple when you do this and the RGB images just don't look as good.Is there a way to get transparency to work in a PDF with exporting everything as Native and using PDF Ver 9?
I am using Corel X5 and need to save back to version 10 or 12. Even though I change the settings when I "save as" the file remains an X5. Unfortunately the engraving company I use cannot open the X5.
