CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Won't Save As Previous Version
Apr 17, 2013
I am using Corel X5 and need to save back to version 10 or 12. Even though I change the settings when I "save as" the file remains an X5. Unfortunately the engraving company I use cannot open the X5.
I cannot save my previous files created on a student version to an upgraded 2014 version. I tried changing the save as path in the options menu, but no luck. I am able to open the file in the upgraded version but it states that it will open as a student version. Also I cannot copy and paste anything from the student version to the upgraded one. Not sure why.
I downloaded and paid for the upgrade version of CorelDraw X6 because I have X3,X4 and X5. I have installed it already but I went to reinstall on my desktop PC as I wiped my hard drive back to factory state, CorelDRAW no longer gives the upgrade option.
On start up it gives the following message ( see below ) as a 30 day trial.
It would be really nice to be able to save a family as a previous version. There are so many things we've created in Revit Arch 2012 that we can't use when an older drawing comes up again. I know we should upgrade the .rvt to the newest version, but that's not how it works where I work. In my backwards company we do things the hard way, so for people like us, it would be nice to just save the .rfa as Revit Arch 2011 or 2010 etc. even if some of the stuff doesn't transfer, the attributes would.
I use Corel X5 and I don't have any problem. One of my suppliers use version X3.When I save files for this supplier, I saved them in version X3 format. But when he open the file, some graphics are missing.
I can't see where the problem come from. When I re-open the version X3 file with Corel X5, the file look fine and everything is there. The supplier keep saying that the problem is on my side. I asked him to upgrade to X5 as I think it should solve the problem.
I'm trying to import into Coreldraw X3 files which were emailed to me by an Adobe CS4 user:
[URL]
(they are attached via a wetransfer link because as I found out the file size limit here is 256k and I cannot compress the files down to that size.) After reading several of the threads here, I'm not any smarter. I've tried various settings to import the .pdf, and regardless of which option I choose, I get a file corrupted error - it looks like the pdf version output to from Illustrator is flat out not supported by coreldraw. it opens fine in foxit reader, which tells me it's pdf 1.5 version.the .eps imports as a group of 542 objects but I cannot see any of these objects in the Object Manager docker.
I have a logo that was done for me but I would like to open it in Corel to do some tweaking but it won't open the ai or eps version of the file. I tried to post the file but its too big, If you can look at it send me a email at Hornnumb2 at Comcast dot Net and I will send it to you.
I saved a book a friend of mine worked on using coreldraw 12 on a cd and tried to open it in X6 but it won't open. I think My sys. Os is a 32 bit, I have a trial version of x6 on this comp. and full version 12 on another. When I ok convert to bitmap Error message says invalid file format.
I work at a design company and we just updated my system with version 6. I was previously working on 5 but when I pull items off of our server that were saved from my computer in version 5 it pops up a quick preview and then "Corel draw has stopped unexpectedly" However I can't just work from 5 because that's the reason why we upgraded my system to begin with. It was crashing out every 10 minutes (literally)
There's obviously a glitch here and it's starting to overwhelm me. We're on deadlines and I can't have my system crashing out. I need to be productive!
I am wanting to add more backgrounds and graphics from previous photoshop. How do it do this? I have located the photo creations file and pasted in folder but still not showing in program.
I have a a ton of images I need down saved from Version X5 to X3. Is there any way to batch save CDR's and CSL's to a lower version besides opening up every one and saving?
i'm running on WIndows XP X64 SP3 AMD ATHLON II 64 - Mem 4Gb), i had install .net framework 4 and i've tried to install Corel Draw X6 64 bit on my system but the screen always shown the warning message "your system has been not modified, the processor in your computer does not meet the minimum system requirement". Is it because of Windows XP x64 or the processor?
With the sad fact that we have to save files into older versions of Corel for other people to open in their Corel Draw, is there an easy way to check an existing CDR file to see which version it is saved in? File-Document Properties DOES NOT seem to do it, although that would be a great place to have it.
I have a file that was created in the online trial version of Corel Draw. How can I open it in my full version of X5? I'm getting an "invalid format" error message.
I am using Autocad 2013, and need to have lisp wblock to a 2010 format file. Is there a way I can force it to, without the trouble of opening the file dialog box and setting the format there?
I am having trouble with CorelDraw X5 SP3 in Windows 7-64 Professional. When I am in CorelDraw or in PhotoPaint, and try to Export as a JPG or PNG file, I get the dialog box showing the picture and details on the right side. But then when I click OK, NO File is saved. This is frustrating. So I go back and try it again and no file saved. So then I try a PDF save and it does it. Then I go back and try to get my PNG saved and it may or may not save it. Finally, I fiddle with it and I can get the FILE SAVED. What a hassle. What is blocking CorelDraw from saving JPG and PNG to finish their generation?
I have a CDR project I am working on. As I work, I occasionally click the "save" icon to save the work. When I am finished for the time being, I am unable to click on either the "X" or "Exit". The program doesn't respond, and I have to go to the Windows Task Manager to shut down CorelDraw. Because of this, the work is not saved. I have Windows 7, and I also have all of the X5 updates installed.
I have done something to my X5 or X4 document that has disabled the ability to publish to PDF. What I could have done that would have disabled this? I just have text and graphics, on a poster sized document. it is one page.
I'm using CorelDraw X5 with Windows 7. When I go to save a file often it won't save unless I repeat the save file command several times. Once I do get it saved the file then shows to be locked.
"Save as", "cut" and some other funtions are not available within my CorelDraw. what could be the cause for this behavior and how I could get rid of it.
Running CorelX5 on windows 7 - On my work computer when I have a file open and hit the save button I'm getting the message "can not save, file is open or being used by other program". I have to save as a different name. I assume another program is to blame and is associated with .cdr.
I have tried on numerous occasions to save my corel draw files to adobe illustrator but once you try to save a page in corel to AI the program locks up in the background so that you can't close it and when I try to enter my new AI file into my internet "dropbox" so that my web-designer can use the files, I am just informed that copying the file into dropbox is not possible as the file is currently open in Corel Draw?
I have tried to get the hot-fix/updated patch for Corel X6 however that is an even worse nightmare with all the swings and roundabouts Corel trys to get you to go on before you can get a simple update.
My web designer is waiting to start work on my new website but I just can not get my design work to him.
Why the Autobackup in X5 is older than the last save. I wonder how many people are losing work because they save over their original file after a crash.
I am using CorelDraw X5 and my system is Windows 7 and is a 64 bit.
Most of the time when I am drawing and go to save my file, CorelDraw X5 will freeze up (not responding) and then crash. Most of the time, I can go and restart Corel, open my file and it will have saved where I wanted it to; but sometimes it will cause me to have to use the auto-backup or just the back up file.
I just replaced the hard drive in my laptop. I have installed Coreldraw 12 again and it opens and works fine.
Problem is when I create and save a file. The file appears on the desktop ( if that is where I save it ) but it has an odd icon with a red A on the bottom corner. If I click on it, I get a "not a valid win32 application" message.
However if I open Corel12 and import the file, it appears to be fine.
X3 - I use X4 at work with no problems but at home I have X3. I set my workspace the way I want it and all my presets the way I want. I hit tools/save stings as default. I then save my workspace as todays date. Close corel and reopen. It starts with the defaults every time! I have to manually choose my workspace and even after doing so my settings have reverted back to default i.e. text to be point not inches like I chose etc.
I am trying to save a CorelDraw X5 file in Adobe Illustrator, so I can bring it into Illustrator CS4 to work on it in Illustrator.
It will only save in CDR format. Whatever different file format I try I get a message "No object to Print, Export, or Save" I originally grouped it and saved it in CDR.
I create a pdf page and save. when i add a second page to the document and save, the second page is not saved in the pdf. how can I get the whole document to save in one pdf file?
