Feb 27, 2013I am upgrading elements 8 with elements 11. Do I uninstall elements 8, will it be replaced, or will both versions be on the computer?

Photoshop :: Upgrading From Academic Version To...
Sep 13, 2008I am a student right now and I am taking a class to learn how to use my new DSLR. I will probably never be a professional photographer but plan on avidly pursuing this hobby. I was thinking of purchasing an academic version of Photoshop CS3.
My question is:
When a new version of photoshop comes out (for example CS4) will I be able to purchase the upgrade version if I own the academic version of cs3 or will I have to purchase the full version?

Feb 27, 2005When upgrading to a newer version of PS (ps7 -> pscs), would i need to transfer all my saved files (projects, brushes, styles, actions, etc...) manually (drag and drop method), or would the installation/setup process do everything for me?
I'm afraid that if i do decide to upgrade to CS and need to transfer all my files, i might unknowingly miss an essential folder and lose it forever when uninstalling the older version.
(or does the setup/installation take care of getting rid of the older version, too?)

Sep 10, 2013after upgrading to version 14.1 CC, Photoshop shows several CMD windows during load. It stops on the third one, showing this:
Finally, a pop-up error windows says clc.exe stopped working (you can see that on the photo). I'm running on Windows 7, 64 bit.
The crash message reports this:

Feb 3, 2014I have Photoshop Elements 11 on my old computer with a catalog with many tags. I bought a new machine and loaded Photoshop Elements 12. I then backed up my Elements 11 catalog using Full backup. Then went to new machine and restored. All my pictures transferred and file structure was as expected. But only some, seemingly random, tags came through. Also many edited pics are now showing as two or more separate files and not as versions. None of my albums were restored.

Jan 9, 2013I've just upgraded from Elements 4 to 11 using Mac OS 10.6 Previously, when I wanted to import an image from my Canon 8600F Scanner I went to File,Import,Canoscan 8600 and the Twain driver window appeared. No problem.Now with 11 this doesn't happen. It doesn't happen with either Editor or Organizer. A search on these pages shows a similar problem with Elements 10. Apr 20, 2013I had a problem with some folders in my original catalog in PSE 11 so I created a new catalog that seems to be fine. However, I have quite a few edited raw files that I had saved in the version set with the original raw file using the old catalog. In the new catalog, the edited jpgs are not in with the original raw version. Is there something I could do to fix this? Also, I have not deleted the original catalog that I used.
