I am in the process of upgrading from Elements 2.0 to Elements 11.0 AND setting up a new computer. How do I make sure I don't lose any of my photos and in which order should I do this? Do I need to install 2.0 on new computer?

They were organized by year and month, now they are all in one folder with no organization. Is there a way to change this setting to autmatically organize on import by year and month. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop Elements 11 on my old computer with a catalog with many tags. I bought a new machine and loaded Photoshop Elements 12. I then backed up my Elements 11 catalog using Full backup. Then went to new machine and restored. All my pictures transferred and file structure was as expected. But only some, seemingly random, tags came through. Also many edited pics are now showing as two or more separate files and not as versions. None of my albums were restored.

It's so bad, I've had to go back and use PSE 10 to edit these projects. Is this is a bug that needs to be addressed in a future update? Had I known this, I would have NEVER purchased the upgrade to PSE 12. .

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 28,485 photos in one Lightroom catalogue, but it appears to have lost them all. Everything has a question mark on it. I have not moved the photos and what it tells me is the last location is still the location - nothing has changed. If I go through the 'find missiong photos' routine, it will find them again. However, it only does that one folder at a time, even with the 'find nearby photos' ticked, and there are hundreds of folders. I can't go through all of them manually, and don't understand why it has done this when I haven't moved any of the photos. I have other catalogues that are working normally, and I don't want to start again because of losing all my selections and collections.

I've been importing photos etc. Anyway, on the left hand navigation pane there was always my photos (which I imported and were stored on my hard drive) and also collections. Easy access. These have all disappeared! I'm in a panic and have been searching for hours and hours. The left hand pane now has snapshot, history, presets etc OR cataloug and collections, but none of mine are there. have i mis hit something OR have they gone for some reason?

New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
Lost pictures in JPEG. pictures in raw files ok. Never moved pictures to revel. JPEG shows broken file. Search on computer shows old file with no pitures. Did not move pictures since I never put anywhere but on my computer I didnt think I had to. Elements 8.
