Lost pictures in JPEG. pictures in raw files ok. Never moved pictures to revel. JPEG shows broken file. Search on computer shows old file with no pitures. Did not move pictures since I never put anywhere but on my computer I didnt think I had to. Elements 8.

I restarted Windows 7 while elements 12 was open and now almost half of my pictures folders and their contents are gone. Not on the hard drive or in the recycle bin. I got to get them back.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got/learning PS CS2. I noticed when I first loaded CS2, I had an option to save as .JPEG. A few days later, the option disappeared. Even when I open an original .JPEG, the Save As option does not display .JPEG as an option. For web work, I need to be able to quickly save to .JPEG (from the save as option) and I can't figure out why it is not available. I do have the Save for Web option, but it take a bit longer to use.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I was importing pictures. I followed the same process I have always used with LR. I have LR4.2. In the process, three folders were created and in two of them, 2 subfolders were created. These are primarily stored on a Drobo. After all the imports, I immediately backed up the Drobo to another HD. When I went to show my wife the pictures today, none of the folders, subfolders or pictures could be found. What LR did show me was that on the backup drive, there appeared all folders and subfolders but all had a question mark on them. All the picture previews are there. When I right click, one of the options is "Find missing Folder". They don't seem to exist. Unfortunately, I erased one of my cards from my D800E after I had backed up the files. When I try to re-import from the other cards, LR identifies all the pictures as suspect duplicates. I have never had this happen before and I have been a LR user from the beginning! What happened to the folders and files? How can I re-import from the cards that still have the pictures.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know the title sounds weird, but I am having trouble keeping my levels from reverting back to their default look when saving as a jpeg or attempting to flatten or merge my layers. I can attach a link to the PDS if you would like to take a look at it. The layer that is losing its levels settings is called "Stars". I don't change my levels often, so I am sure its something I am just missing. The levels are just changes on a single layer, as stated above its the layer called "Stars".

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I bought the new 27" iMac. I was keeping all my photos on an external drive but decided to use that for back up and move all the pics onto the new iMac's 3TB fusion drive. I made the move outside of Lightroom. Of course, when I did that, I botched up all the links.
Lightroom 4.3 now shows thumbnails of all my photos, none of my folders in the catalog window, all of my saved collections. What's the most efficient way of getting LR to link my catalog to my newly-located (internal) photos file?
Using LR 4.4 on OS X 10.7.5
I have transferred some folders from my internal drive to an external (FW) drive. Whereas most of the transfer worked fine, I had the following problems:
- one folder (at least) completely disappeared from LR. The files were moved to the new HDD (I can see them in Finder), an empty folder remains in LR under the "old" drive and there is nothing in LR at the new position.
- an empty structure remained at the location of the old files
- on some folders, I had the message "could not complete the folder move..." and only part of the pictures (or none at all) were moved.
Recently I have shifted to Gimp 2.8. I also use picasa to createdescription and upload purpose. Image descriptions created by picasa isgetting lost if I export (after edits) in gimp. Gimp is replacing existingdescription with "x-default".
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen ever I open up a jpeg image in CS 6 it is opening at 2% to sometimes .5% These files are fairly large 3 to 6 megs, and the image size are standard 10'' x 16" for example.
Is there a setting so I can view them at screen size when I open them so I do not have to make them bigger every time I open a new jpeg?
I have all my pictures shooted in my Lightroom. My first APN shooted only in jpg files. After, with a new APN, I don't know realy why, I shooted in raw+jpg. And now, I download only raw files. Is it possible to delete jpeg files which exists in double of raw files?

Is there a way to extract selected thumbnails from the cache?
PS: I frequently use "Reconnect" to be confirm that I have all files but apparently offline files are ignored in that process. It used to be easy since the thumbnails were discrete but now . I learned to avoid offline files in early Photoshop Album days - but at least then I could find the thumbnails.

I then discovered that all my keyword tags were missing, but the image caption and description ("Notes") were not lost. This amounts to approximately 10 years worth of images.
Why did did I lose all the keyword tags? How can I recover them? I have not closed or restarted the Elements Organizer, nor have I tried to Repair the catalogs for fear of overwriting something that cannot be corrected. When should the repair catelog be used?
I am using a Dell desktop computer with Windows XP. We have an external HD for backup that is supposed to be constantly syncing for backup.
I have Photoshop Elements 10 that I am using with Windows XP Service Pack 3, a Pentium 4 CPU with 3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 48.6 GB of free disk space.
Yellow question marks continue to appear on the top left of some images in one of my catalogs even though these images have not actually been moved. The Organizer searches for the "missing file" and finds it quickly but why is it "missing"? I have gone through the albums in this catalog, completed the missing file searches on all the images so that no yellow question marks appear and when I go back to the catalog the next time I find the yellow question marks are there again! What is making the found file become lost again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried to convert several files using "Process multiple files" in Photoshop Elements 10. Input files are CMYK psd files with one layer and transparent background. They should be resized and converted to PNG. It works excepting the transparency in the PNG files is missing - the background is white instead. The conversion works however if I open a single file, convert it to RGB after prompt and save it as PNG. The background is transparent as it should.
So why my pngs are not transparent when using batch conversion?

I reloaded Elemensts 10 but had lost all catalog, category, and subcategory information. My photographs (3,000) had been saved but not "backed-up" (I did not realize there was a difference). All photographs are intact with tags (but not catalog information). Is there some way to restore the catalog and category data?

Then my computer got a virus and the hard drive had to be wiped clean. I restored my files and pictures from an external hard drive. I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 9 and then uploaded the albums from the XML file I saved. All the album names are restored, but the pictures are not connected to the albums! How can I restore the albums with the pictures without starting over and dragging each picture into the album? I thought the XML file saved the picture/album links?

I seem to have made the mistake of moving several images around outside of Organizer and now they are lost - or disconnected. I've tried the Reconnect feature and after running for nearly an hour not a single image has been reconnected (I need to reconnect over 500!). I've tried to manually browse but where to look for them. I am a Mac user, and I do have these images backed up on an external drive.
How do I get my images back into Organizer??
