Went to export a picture, entered the information, clicked " export" and Lightroom disappeared. Recovered it or so i thought. The title bar now reads "Ice caves 2014-Adobe Lightroom 3, and all my pictures are missing.

I imported pictures to Adobe Lightroom and exported them to my memory card. Now my memory card is broke! Is there any way to retrieve those pictures from Lightroom. Right now they are saying missing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I was importing pictures. I followed the same process I have always used with LR. I have LR4.2. In the process, three folders were created and in two of them, 2 subfolders were created. These are primarily stored on a Drobo. After all the imports, I immediately backed up the Drobo to another HD. When I went to show my wife the pictures today, none of the folders, subfolders or pictures could be found. What LR did show me was that on the backup drive, there appeared all folders and subfolders but all had a question mark on them. All the picture previews are there. When I right click, one of the options is "Find missing Folder". They don't seem to exist. Unfortunately, I erased one of my cards from my D800E after I had backed up the files. When I try to re-import from the other cards, LR identifies all the pictures as suspect duplicates. I have never had this happen before and I have been a LR user from the beginning! What happened to the folders and files? How can I re-import from the cards that still have the pictures.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I bought the new 27" iMac. I was keeping all my photos on an external drive but decided to use that for back up and move all the pics onto the new iMac's 3TB fusion drive. I made the move outside of Lightroom. Of course, when I did that, I botched up all the links.
Lightroom 4.3 now shows thumbnails of all my photos, none of my folders in the catalog window, all of my saved collections. What's the most efficient way of getting LR to link my catalog to my newly-located (internal) photos file?
Using LR 4.4 on OS X 10.7.5
I have transferred some folders from my internal drive to an external (FW) drive. Whereas most of the transfer worked fine, I had the following problems:
- one folder (at least) completely disappeared from LR. The files were moved to the new HDD (I can see them in Finder), an empty folder remains in LR under the "old" drive and there is nothing in LR at the new position.
- an empty structure remained at the location of the old files
- on some folders, I had the message "could not complete the folder move..." and only part of the pictures (or none at all) were moved.
I loaded some folders with my pictures. In Lightroom I developed some of it, others I did not. Now I want to export only those pictures which I developed. I know, I can manually select at the bottom line all pictures showing a +/- sign and the export them. This is quite a lot of work with my 800 pictures. Is it possible to tell Lightroom that it just selects and exports the developed pictures?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have many documents I need to convert to HTML. I need the images in the documents to be links. This has worked fine, according to normal procedures if the images are png, jpg, or gifs. However, most of my images are not those formats. So if I have an eps, pdf, and tiff in my document, upon html export, there is no hyperlink. That is, the <a href></a> tags are not in the HTML at all. But if I convert the images to png, jpeg, or gifs, put them in my document, then choose that file format for conversion, the links work fine.
I want to say there is an issue with the link tags upon file conversion. It could be something else, but I am not sure why it works for certain file formats and not others. I figured ID would keep the association with the hyperling after converting an image from say and eps to jpg. Any way to keep hyperlinks for images after exporting to HTML.
(I can obviously add the link tags myself in the HTML, or convert the images myself and put them in the docs, but I have many documents and would like some automated way.)
I have an iLogic rule that asks if I want to export a DXF (yes/no) every time I save an Inventor DWG. In some of our drawings we have pictures and those don't get included in the DXF export. Can DXFs handle pictures? How can I have it include the picture as well?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 28,485 photos in one Lightroom catalogue, but it appears to have lost them all. Everything has a question mark on it. I have not moved the photos and what it tells me is the last location is still the location - nothing has changed. If I go through the 'find missiong photos' routine, it will find them again. However, it only does that one folder at a time, even with the 'find nearby photos' ticked, and there are hundreds of folders. I can't go through all of them manually, and don't understand why it has done this when I haven't moved any of the photos. I have other catalogues that are working normally, and I don't want to start again because of losing all my selections and collections.

Now when I look through the master files in the hierarchy, ALL of the edits are lost, including color labels, starring, flagging, etc. The only images that were not affected are any duplicates that I converted to black and white.I swear I did not change a thing with the catalog or moving files on disk etc. Can I import from an older backup of a catalog to restore my edits?

Yesterday, I opened a catalog and edited a couple hundred images. I applied a preset at import, made a variety of changes, cropped, applied color labels, and the Pick flag. When I was done, last evening, I closed down Lightroom normally, as I do every day.
I did NOT write all my changes to the files on disk, which I normally do at the end of editing, but not ALWAYS...
This morning, I started Lightroom, opened the same catalog, and NONE of my changes from yesterday were preserved. Nothing crashed, nothing closed abnormally, NOTHING unusual happened before, during, or after yesterday's editing. I closed Lightroom and rebooted the system. Reopened, no difference.
I went to the catalog partition and looked in the previews folders. There are MANY previews/files that show changes from yesterday, but in Lightroom I have NONE of what was done... White balance is back to "as shot", ALL the basic, detail, and other changes in develop aren't present, no Pick flags, no color labels, no NOTHING... In the preview files, there are only 45 files changed with today's date (I haven't touched anything, yet), but there are 1104 files changed yesterday, so there are changes in there, but they're NOT showing up in Lightroom.
how I can get the changes to show in LR again?
I'm going to have to go back through and redo all the changes because I don't have time to wait, but is there some way to FORCE Lightroom to read the catalog and previews and put the changes back? Or some other way to recover the changes (I'm presuming the changes actually ARE in the previews)...
As you can see, I am in a frantic stage. I just finished editing through close to 800 photos of a wedding that I recently shot. After I finished editing them I went to the floder location, in Windows, not Lightroom 3 (huge mistake), and I made a folder inside of that folder called "raw". I selceted all of the photos and then moved them into the that folder. So, the files were in weddings/021812/ and I put them in weddings/021812/raw/ . When I went to Lightroom, of course it said that the files were offline. Instead of finding the missing folder, I clicked "synchronize folder" and pointed towards the "raw" folder. I noticed that the images were importing without their setting and I cancelled the synchronization. I went back to windows and moved all of the photos back to their original folder and now when I try to "update folder location", the photos do not show up in Lightroom.
