Oct 21, 2012I lost all my pictures on the organize page of elements 7 (all but 15) {I must have hit someting I shouldn't have} and I need them back. how to do that?

Photoshop Elements :: Lost Icons At Top Of Page On 10?
Nov 1, 2012I have experienced this issue on previous versions of elements. I have elements 10 and when I started it yesterday all the familiar icons on the tool bar were missing. I don’t remember doing anything that would turn them off but I cannot find how to restore them. How would I restore the tool bar at the top of my page?

Lightroom aside, the way I have my photos organized are like this. Follow along with the photo!
In the My Pictures folder I have a few folders for each year. You open up a year, like 2011 and it opens up each photo session I did. For example if I went to the beach on March 25 I would make a folder titled March 25, Beach Shoot. Inside that folder would be all of my pictures from the beach.
Well in lightroom I imported everything and it all shows up as various folders. There are no years, all the years are crammed into one section in the module. The folders section under my C drive.
Its really hard to find certain photos from shoots. I dont care to look through shoots from 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 when I went on a shoot yesterday, in 2012.
What is the best way to organize all my pictures from various years? How do others do this? I bought a Lynda membership for their video lessons and took a 5 hour course on how to organize Lightroom and the guy in the video was dealing with like 150 shots. I’m dealing with almost 20,000.

But something happened to it that either involves the settings, or there is a corrupted file that won't allow me to open any file; new or existing; for editing. I uninstalled the program, and then reinstalled it thinking that that would fix the problem. But it didn't. It still won't open any file into the editor and won't drop in a copied file. It won't even open a new blank file. This happened suddenly. I was using the program and it was working, then I tried to open another file and it wouldn't work at all.

My photos are already on the hard drive in the format of Main folder Photographs with the years underneath that. In each year I have put the twelve months with the number of the month before the name so that the stay in date order. (e.g. January is 01 Jan, Feb is 02 Feb). When I imported the photos into the catalogue I found that the list of folders on the left did not stay within the year and month so there was a long list of folders with no hierarchical structure.

Nov 24, 2012Yesterday, I was importing pictures. I followed the same process I have always used with LR. I have LR4.2. In the process, three folders were created and in two of them, 2 subfolders were created. These are primarily stored on a Drobo. After all the imports, I immediately backed up the Drobo to another HD. When I went to show my wife the pictures today, none of the folders, subfolders or pictures could be found. What LR did show me was that on the backup drive, there appeared all folders and subfolders but all had a question mark on them. All the picture previews are there. When I right click, one of the options is "Find missing Folder". They don't seem to exist. Unfortunately, I erased one of my cards from my D800E after I had backed up the files. When I try to re-import from the other cards, LR identifies all the pictures as suspect duplicates. I have never had this happen before and I have been a LR user from the beginning! What happened to the folders and files? How can I re-import from the cards that still have the pictures.

Feb 26, 2013So I bought the new 27" iMac. I was keeping all my photos on an external drive but decided to use that for back up and move all the pics onto the new iMac's 3TB fusion drive. I made the move outside of Lightroom. Of course, when I did that, I botched up all the links.
Lightroom 4.3 now shows thumbnails of all my photos, none of my folders in the catalog window, all of my saved collections. What's the most efficient way of getting LR to link my catalog to my newly-located (internal) photos file?

I have transferred some folders from my internal drive to an external (FW) drive. Whereas most of the transfer worked fine, I had the following problems:
- one folder (at least) completely disappeared from LR. The files were moved to the new HDD (I can see them in Finder), an empty folder remains in LR under the "old" drive and there is nothing in LR at the new position.
- an empty structure remained at the location of the old files
- on some folders, I had the message "could not complete the folder move..." and only part of the pictures (or none at all) were moved.

Mar 14, 2014After moving a page in my document the master page elements no longer display on screen or in print. If I move the page to a different location in the document the master displays but if it is in the specific position that it needs to be it will not display. The document has multiple Masters and others do work on the page but the one that I need will not. I've tried deleting the page and adding a new one and that does not fix the problem. I've checked and "Hide Master Items" is not checked. The page in question is in position 48 with F-Master applied. If I move it to position 49 it works, 50, it works, 51, or any other it works. If I apply a different master to the page, it works. If I delete the page, add a new page and apply F-Master it still does not work. The only page that this problem is happening on is page 48.
