I have experienced this issue on previous versions of elements. I have elements 10 and when I started it yesterday all the familiar icons on the tool bar were missing. I don’t remember doing anything that would turn them off but I cannot find how to restore them. How would I restore the tool bar at the top of my page?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter moving a page in my document the master page elements no longer display on screen or in print. If I move the page to a different location in the document the master displays but if it is in the specific position that it needs to be it will not display. The document has multiple Masters and others do work on the page but the one that I need will not. I've tried deleting the page and adding a new one and that does not fix the problem. I've checked and "Hide Master Items" is not checked. The page in question is in position 48 with F-Master applied. If I move it to position 49 it works, 50, it works, 51, or any other it works. If I apply a different master to the page, it works. If I delete the page, add a new page and apply F-Master it still does not work. The only page that this problem is happening on is page 48.

First, how to get photos instead of icons?

I've installed my new windows CS6, all my .psd files have the 'generic icons' windows give to files they don't recognize. Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.

In my PSE10 catalog, I have a highly structured event tag tree for 30,000 pictures and videos covering 15 years. This tree has annual main categories and then numerous events in 2nd level subcategories under each year. Below that are tags for which camera/person took the picture as well as other tags for videos, panorama-segments etc. Altogether there are probably several hundred or more subcategories. After importing the catalog into PSE 12 all of these subcategories show up in the top level display causing massive duplication that scrolls for 12 or more screens.
The PSE12 event tab is useless if it can only display every subcategory all at once in a flattened format. I also do not see any way to move these subcategories out of the events tag area and into the keyword tag area to eliminate clutter.

The last few days my file preview icons on my computer are looking strange. Before they used to be a smaller version of the image, now they look blurry with a black frame around them. The jpeg file itself is fine when I open it in preview or back into PSE, I havn't changed any settings and I am always saving it at the highest resolution.

I have 20/20 vision but the workspace is so small on this computer. I've tried changing the resolution on my screens and it's not changing photoshops screen at all. Now all new uploads are displayed in the organiser as egg timer icons. These will open, but only one at a time when double clicked on. I am on Windows 7. I have uninstalled PSE 11 and re-installed but the problem persists. I have uploaded a very small jpeg and got the same resuilts, which seems to rule out a RAW problem.

I really do not want to recreate these albums, as it would be almost impossible. I am dealing with over 2000 photos over several years (downloaded from discs from the last several years). Is there a way to extract selected thumbnails from the cache?
PS: I frequently use "Reconnect" to be confirm that I have all files but apparently offline files are ignored in that process. It used to be easy since the thumbnails were discrete but now . I learned to avoid offline files in early Photoshop Album days - but at least then I could find the thumbnails.
I've lost the square brushes in Elements 9. How can I reinstall them?
