I had a very large database of images that I ocnverted from PSE 10. All is well, except for this rather glaring annoyance. When the People is clicked to show the people photo stacks, many of the stacks only have a standard icon instead of the others that have a photo.
First, how to get photos instead of icons?
Second - How to change the photo shown?
Having decided Revel was not appropiate to my use, I've tried to delete the Revel icons from every jpg in my catalog and delete the mobile album from my Organizer, to no avail. Also would like to disable/delete auto analyzer since it uses so much CPU resources.

In my PSE10 catalog, I have a highly structured event tag tree for 30,000 pictures and videos covering 15 years. This tree has annual main categories and then numerous events in 2nd level subcategories under each year. Below that are tags for which camera/person took the picture as well as other tags for videos, panorama-segments etc. Altogether there are probably several hundred or more subcategories. After importing the catalog into PSE 12 all of these subcategories show up in the top level display causing massive duplication that scrolls for 12 or more screens.
The PSE12 event tab is useless if it can only display every subcategory all at once in a flattened format. I also do not see any way to move these subcategories out of the events tag area and into the keyword tag area to eliminate clutter.

The last few days my file preview icons on my computer are looking strange. Before they used to be a smaller version of the image, now they look blurry with a black frame around them. The jpeg file itself is fine when I open it in preview or back into PSE, I havn't changed any settings and I am always saving it at the highest resolution.

I have 20/20 vision but the workspace is so small on this computer. I've tried changing the resolution on my screens and it's not changing photoshops screen at all. Now all new uploads are displayed in the organiser as egg timer icons. These will open, but only one at a time when double clicked on. I am on Windows 7. New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
Why are the icons in layer panel not accessible when I open a photo to edit in PSE 11? I want to make another layer and I can not.

If I try to paste a photo from my own photos file it becomes the back ground by itself. I don't know how to stop this. Using photoshop elements 11.
