I just bought a seconf monitor to move all tools and windows to the seconf screen. I want my picture alone on the main screen. It seems that PSE 11 won't allow me to do that.

Trying to use the builtin screen capture tools under Utilities/Screen capture.
There appears to be no way to do a selected capture or partial selection of parts of a window. Instead we have:
Full screen []
active window []
content of active window [x]
So I selected the last one above as shown `Content of Active Window'
But what I actually get is a mini version of the entire Designer pro 7 application Including the menus, borders, and all that guff that no one usually wants in a capture of part of the full screen.
So what does `Content of active window' mean as apposed to `Active window'?
Its really unbelievable that there is no provision like `Region' found in most screen grab tools where you select with the mouse what you want captured.
Maybe I'm just missing how to use this thing, but have included the result of what a `content of active window' does. Its a mini version of the entire application...
When I point over any opened image, I just see a hand, even if I have a tool selected.
Non of the images are Read Only.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI find the crop tool in CS6 to be such a pain compared to the version in LR4. When using the mouse (in CS6) to reposition the crop area the box hops around and seems to "jump" into certain positions - this is especially pronounced if it gets close to an edge.
I realize I can reposition with the arrow keys but I was wondering if there is a way to disable the "jumping" while using the mouse?
I'm on CS6 on a year old iMac. Plenty of RAM and memory. For some reason all of a sudden, the tools on the left hand side of the screen won't work. All I get is the hand. What I hit or what happened. I've re-started PS, the computer and reset Bridge. How to reverse what happened?

What I'm saying is that the pencil tool moves by pixels in my document. Since I like to do pixel art, it'd be nice if the other tools also moved like that, by pixel not free form. I'm working on a 32x32 grid and it's good that the pencil moves like that. I just want other tools to move like the pencil, pixel by pixel, now it might be different pixel movement for me since I have my grid set up at 4x4 spacing, I'm a newbie at GIMP and would like if you can answer this question.

View 4 Replies View Related CS4 Extended. Early 2008 iMac 24", 4 GB RAM, updated to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.3 in Dec 2012.CS4 (11.0.2) was working fine with no issues until 2 weeks ago. The startup splash screen loads and displays messages about various tools being loaded....
However, it does not go beyond: "Reading Color Settings...." and I get the spinning color ball if the cursor is over the splash screen and a blue spinning ball when the cursor is outside the splash screen.Have to use "Force Quit" to get out of the program.Adobe Acrobat Reader also does not work. Upgraded from Adobe LightRoom LR2 to LR4 and that works fine!
Here is what I have tried:
Uninstalled Acrobat Reader and CS4 Rebooted the computer Re-installed CS4 (legit copy and have serial #) Re-installed Reader Checked for updates on Adobe site and updated CS4 to 11.0.2 Rebooted the computer Started CS4..... Got to the same step "Reading Color Settings..." and the programs hangsThought that some crucial file(s) in the System may have been damaged/corrupted, so...Re-installed Mountain Lion to potentially remove/overwrite damaged filesRebooted the computer Launced CS4 and got the same results as in step 7 above
if CS5 can be moved from windows to a mac? Or, being you are allowed to install on 2 machines have it installed under both platforms with one license?

Whenever I open an image in Photoshop, it's locked in the top left corner of the application window. I can't drag it anywhere.
The only way I can make it movable is to switch to the "Basic" workspace. Then if I switch back to the default workspace, it stays movable.

View 5 Replies View Relatedcurrently using PS5 and recently updated to PS6. In both versions i have an issue with ACR.More often than not, when processing a raw file, if i apply any noise reduction (ie move the luminance amount slider from 0) the zoom stops functioning preventing me zooming in or out. Some times this is acompanied by the image "stuttering" if i move the image around the screen to look at a different part.
When i open an image in ACR and convert to tiff in PS the first time i use the program all is well, but if i then go back to ACR and open another image i often find that the ACR screen comes up minus the actual image. The window which should contain the image shows PS underneath. Im currently using windows 7. I often get an error message when trying to open a raw file stating "not enough RAM". Is the ram (or lack of) responsible for all of these issues?
I have recently replaced my PC. Windows Pro with all current updates. I use Photoshop CS3.
Sometimes when I put the cursor on the blue bar at the top of an open PS image it doesn't move around my screen when I drag the mouse. Other times it works OK after a few stutters. It was always OK on my previous PC.
Using external tools to automate PaintShop Pro operations? Such as AutoHotkey, AutoIt, Macro Express Pro, etc? To do stuff that scripts can't?
Mine is an old version, PSP 8, but this issue probably applies to more recent ones.
None of these programs seem able to access PSP's image windows. They don't appear in the list of windows when using AutoIt v3 Window Info, for example, or AHK Window Info 1.7. If there's some way to work with these 'child' windows.
I started using Paint.NET for all of my graphic editing about a month ago and the thing that I find most annoying is how the tool windows (Tools, History, Layers & Colors) get in the way when I'm working at 100% or more scale. I have to constantly move them/close them when I'm working with corners or edges.
Is there a way that I can combine the windows together (like the Tools bar in MSPaint) or make them not overlap the image so that they don't get in the way?
I have 3 displays connected to my computer, 1 of which is a tablet screen I don't use all the time. (It gets disabled and put away when I turn on SLI for video gaming, or if I just dont need to draw anything at the moment) If I'm drawing something, I'll drag photoshop over to that 3rd screen and do my work. Later, if I want to just crop or resize an image or do simple image manip stuff, I'll drag the window back over to one of my other two screens. The problem I'm facing is that popup dialogs like the open file, save as, preferences; any new window that photoshop opens, appears on whatever monitor it did last time.
Is there a way to force photoshop to always show those windows centered or at least on the same screen the rest of the program is working on? I've been searching for a while and the closest thing I found was a setting called 'Remember Palette Locations', but it looks like that setting was removed in CS5.
I'm willing to change preferences, run some kind of reset script any time photoshop starts, or whatever, just something that will bring those new windows onto the screen I'm working on instead of where they last were. I sat perplexed for about 1 minute when I saved a picture as PNG. Went to upload it and.. ohp! it hasn't changed! Oh! There is an interlace option dialog is showing on a screen thats TURNED OFF.

When I move a canvas around the screen, if I take it too near the top it will snap to the top of the screen and take up the whole page with just this one canvas. How do I stop it from doing this? I guess its in options somewhere but as I dont know what its called I dont know what to search for? Also how do I stop one canvas snapping into another/tabbing into another when moving them around?

Also in Navigator I can see that I should be seeing more image as indicated by the red outline. View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open "Image>Image size" for example, the dialogue window that opens appear half way off-screen, and I can't access it. The only way for me to close it is to use the Esc button.
Every time I open one of theese windows, they wander off a couple of pixels, until they can't be reached. Sure, I can try to reset their position manually each time I use them, but that's not how it's supposed to be.
I need a way to reset all windows positions. The workspace options doesn't seem to include the dialogue windows, so that's no use.
1. Why do Illustrator, Fireworks and InDesign (these are the ones I have checked) open with floating panels, tabs and windows, even in full screen mode... but Photoshop opens nicely in windowed mode with all the panels, tabs and windows fixed?
2. In full screen mode the left ruler is hidden behind the tools panel?! Why?!

After making the move to Windows 7 a few months ago everything went fine regarding my tablet. Then a month later the driver died, i installed a newer version of the tablet for W7 and since then ive been having nightmares regarding the touch functionality of the tablet.
As of a week or two ago, the pen functionality has started dieing too. Im almost certain that what ever problems im having is not related to the tablet itself but my machine.When photoshop is not the active window, my pen can control the cursor to any position on the screen, however once photoshop is the active window, i can only control the upper left corner of the monitor. Ive tested it on a few apps and the same is happening on Fireworks, After Effects.

I am experiencing suddenly an odd behavior with Photoshop CS5.Everytime I open a new window in photoshop the window goes outside my screen.I have to go each time to the system preferences on my mac and switch for a second to another screen resolution to bring back the window to my screen.I have found out that when I disable OpenGL in Photoshop the problem goes away. But still, I want to use OpenGL.
