The bottom of the window goes off screen so i cannot resize it by clicking and dragging the lower right corner. Also in Navigator I can see that I should be seeing more image as indicated by the red outline. I have tried resetting Essentials, tried opening Photoshop while pressing Option / Alt shift, and nothing seems to work.
View 2 RepliesNew machine, nice and fast, but there is a quirk in the display with in Photoshop. When I click on a layer to move it about, the display within the Photoshop window flickers. Sometimes, when I click on a layer, the whole image, inside the Photoshop window, goes black. By clicking on the another layer, in the layer panel, the image will reappear.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using a new Lenovo Yoga 2. The native resolution is 3200x1800. Most Windows applications use scaling to enlarge the menus and other aspects of their user interface. However, Photoshop CC is basically unusable at this resolution because it does not honor the scaling. I have to drop the resolution down to 1600x900 before launching Photoshop CC.
View 24 Replies View RelatedThis only happens when PS CS6 (x64) is opened (fresh). If I create a blank doc, I get a top left "blank" rectangle. If I start up CS6 and select a file to open, I get the same blank square. After this, if I open or create a new doc, the files look fine. If I zoom into the blank space, it will eventually draw in properly. This is on any file I open. The files are intact.This is on Win 7 x64, Updated CS6 x64.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI photograph a bright red car in raw mode on a digital slr (Canon 20D) set to Adobe rgb 1998 and view it in Breeze Browser and it looks just as I remember it. I open it into Pshop CS5 extended (which is set to Adobe rgb1998, Europe ISO Coated Fogra27, (as I am UK and this is what a calibration company set our works proofer to) gray gamma 2.2 dot gain 20% and its become a little desaturated.
Sampling it and comparing screens and colours with Breeze Browser its definitely less red, a bit more orange red instead. I need to up saturation to return the red, both in RAW converter and also after image opened if not done so beforehand in RAW converter. Colors just look muted.
What tests can I carry out to find out what is going on ?
Perhaps create a rgb 255 0 0 image in a way not influenced by photoshop and photo the monitor, then open this in photoshop and sample it. However that would be influenced by the exposure of the camera. Maybe I need to create a Kodak grey card type image and establish correct exposure for the monitor brightness first. so what would that be as rgb ?
I know though that Pshop is displaying duller. Once upon a time we had Adobe gamma and one would go through the calibration wizard to set up Photoshop having already set up the monitor.
What do we have to do after installing CS5 extended or CS4 to ensure Pshops display is correct ?
I have Adobe gamma in the control panel, Is this something we still have to do in CS5, I wonder if its there because I still have Pshop 7 installed which used that wizard.
XP pro is my OS.
I've always used the screen display modes in the toolbox in prior versions. They are gone from the toolbox, can someone tell me where to access them? I want to have multiple files open where I can see them and work from them.

When I go to the settings in PS, it tells me that there is a problem with my display driver so I cannot use GPU graphics processing. I would really like these features to be available to me, especially since my GPU meets the recommendations by Adobe. I installed the latest driver from AMD.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhile using Photoshop CS4 Extended version 11.0.1, whenever I change Screen Modes, it causes the color of all photos to display improperly. The pictures become very dull and gray. Even the whitest whites (255/255/255) appear to be a dull gray, as if a black layer set to 30% opacity is placed in front of the picture. The color still displays properly in the thumbnails of the Layers Panel.
Every picture I have open is affected in this way. Closing the pictures and reopening them does not help. Any new pictures I open are also affected. Changing back to the original screen mode does not fix the problem. The only thing that fixes the problem is closing Photoshop altogether, and then restarting it.
It doesnt matter how I change Screen Modes, whether I change it from the Screen Menu, the Applications Bar, or cycle through the modes using the F key. Even hitting the Tab key to hide the panels causes this to happen. Being a long-time Photoshop user, I have long been in the habit of cycling through screen modes frequently, so suggesting I not cycle through Screen Modes isnt an option because itll take months to break me of the habit.

My OS is Windows7 Professional and my screen resolution is 1280x1024 pixels.I have cropped the image to 7x5 and resized it to 5290x3770 pixels (w,h). I have set the resolution to 571 pixels per inch. Placing the text at 17.3 pt gave me the 0.2" height I wanted on the 'Fit Screen' zoom.
The Display Option shown in the Control Panel is 'smaller' which I understand means approximately 96 dpi. I have read that points to pixels is calculated by: Pixels = Points * System DPI/72 giving 1.33 points per pixel. Thus the 17.3 pt text should be about 13 pixels high.
Thirteen pixels is 0.34% of the 3770 pixel high display which implies a text height of about 0.02" on the 6.6" high displayed image. Instead I am seeing a text height of about 0.2" (as required).
On a MacBook Pro 15-inch retina display running OS 10.8.3, in Photoshop CS6: after launching PS, the work window is too tall for the monitor display. The bottom is cut off: there are no bottom scroll bars or nor any of the page info, I can't grab the resizing corner to change window dimensions. Also, I can't change from Standard Screen Mode: neither the left tool bar nor the F key has any effect. I've quit and restarted both the PS app and entire computer but problem persists.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my 3 year old Dell XPS 16 which came with a AMD (ATI) Radeon HD 5730 (1GB) graphics card to Windows 8 (along with a new SSD hard drive), and reinstalled CS6, and now I get messages that the program is no longer detecting my dedicated graphics card. I updated the drivers from both Dell and AMD, and I get the same result.The Graphics Processor Seting box is greyed out in Preferences, and it says it detected an error in my display driver. Everything was fine with the same graphics card under Windows 7.
I suspect that when Windows 8 was installed it installed a generic AMD driver, and even though I have updated it from Dell and AMD several times, something is not quite right because I can't find the AMD Catalyst Control Center. So it might be a WIndows 8 & AMD issue, but I don't really know for sure.

After Upgrading from windows 7 to windows 8 photos are not displayed in Photoshop CS6. When I open a photo in the bridge, it is displayed properly in Camera Raw and can be developed there.
After opening the photo in Photoshop 6 then, everything looks good, but the photo is not visible. I can save it and even export it (to jpeg for example), but it is not visible.
I have 3 displays connected to my computer, 1 of which is a tablet screen I don't use all the time. (It gets disabled and put away when I turn on SLI for video gaming, or if I just dont need to draw anything at the moment) If I'm drawing something, I'll drag photoshop over to that 3rd screen and do my work. Later, if I want to just crop or resize an image or do simple image manip stuff, I'll drag the window back over to one of my other two screens. The problem I'm facing is that popup dialogs like the open file, save as, preferences; any new window that photoshop opens, appears on whatever monitor it did last time.
Is there a way to force photoshop to always show those windows centered or at least on the same screen the rest of the program is working on? I've been searching for a while and the closest thing I found was a setting called 'Remember Palette Locations', but it looks like that setting was removed in CS5.
I'm willing to change preferences, run some kind of reset script any time photoshop starts, or whatever, just something that will bring those new windows onto the screen I'm working on instead of where they last were. I sat perplexed for about 1 minute when I saved a picture as PNG. Went to upload it and.. ohp! it hasn't changed! Oh! There is an interlace option dialog is showing on a screen thats TURNED OFF.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I open "Image>Image size" for example, the dialogue window that opens appear half way off-screen, and I can't access it. The only way for me to close it is to use the Esc button.
Every time I open one of theese windows, they wander off a couple of pixels, until they can't be reached. Sure, I can try to reset their position manually each time I use them, but that's not how it's supposed to be.
I need a way to reset all windows positions. The workspace options doesn't seem to include the dialogue windows, so that's no use.

I am using an Intuos4 tablet and the pen pressure randomly stops working in photoshop (cs5.5).
Had a bamboo before and the same thing happened there. I have the latest driver installed (tried with older as well), tried different usb ports and different usb wire.
Sometimes it works only a few seconds sometimes 5-10min (never more though) before the pen pressure stops working. And when it does it just stops working, I get the warning triangle in the brush window, then randomly it comes back for a few strokes before it stops wokring again.
I'm on a pc. I've tried using photoshop cs1 and also photoshop 7. The same thing happens there.
The problem didnt start untill I plugged in my old bamboo into the same computer after having installed the drivers etc for the intuos4. Ive also tried switching the tip of the pen.
Nothing works. What can I do?
Does someone know how to create realistic liquid and foam effect on pictures. It should looks like they are real, because I will use them on 3D renders - pictures. I would like to add water or milk on my 3D renders. It should look like it was spilled and there should be drops too.

View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter making the move to Windows 7 a few months ago everything went fine regarding my tablet. Then a month later the driver died, i installed a newer version of the tablet for W7 and since then ive been having nightmares regarding the touch functionality of the tablet.
As of a week or two ago, the pen functionality has started dieing too. Im almost certain that what ever problems im having is not related to the tablet itself but my machine.When photoshop is not the active window, my pen can control the cursor to any position on the screen, however once photoshop is the active window, i can only control the upper left corner of the monitor. Ive tested it on a few apps and the same is happening on Fireworks, After Effects.

I am experiencing suddenly an odd behavior with Photoshop CS5.Everytime I open a new window in photoshop the window goes outside my screen.I have to go each time to the system preferences on my mac and switch for a second to another screen resolution to bring back the window to my screen.I have found out that when I disable OpenGL in Photoshop the problem goes away. But still, I want to use OpenGL.

I'm trying to create a user guide and the images are fine when pasted into PS but look blurred when I use the transform tool to reduce their size (or resize image).
