I am experiencing suddenly an odd behavior with Photoshop CS5.Everytime I open a new window in photoshop the window goes outside my screen.I have to go each time to the system preferences on my mac and switch for a second to another screen resolution to bring back the window to my screen.I have found out that when I disable OpenGL in Photoshop the problem goes away. But still, I want to use OpenGL.
View 11 RepliesWhen I open "Image>Image size" for example, the dialogue window that opens appear half way off-screen, and I can't access it. The only way for me to close it is to use the Esc button.
Every time I open one of theese windows, they wander off a couple of pixels, until they can't be reached. Sure, I can try to reset their position manually each time I use them, but that's not how it's supposed to be.
I need a way to reset all windows positions. The workspace options doesn't seem to include the dialogue windows, so that's no use.
I recently got a new computer and loaded my Photoshop CS4 on to it and the features of Open GL such as holding down the z key and using the scroll on the mouse to zoom in and out and also the left and right bracket key inceasing or decreasing the size of the brush do not work. The new computer is using Windows 7 64 bit and has an AMD quad core with 8 Gb RAM. I checked to make sure that Open GL is selected in the Edit>Preference>Performance where it also tells me that the graphics card does support accelerated graphics for Open GL.Â

Been using CS6 PS since Beta. No problems till 13.1.1 came out. I'm in Full Screen Mode 95% of the time and 100% when I'm retouching.After the most recent update OpenGL funtions will become disabled when I go to Full Screen Mode. This is very annoying! My MBP is connected to a 30in Dell Ultra.

When first installed it worked fine, then suddenly it was non-functional. It will open, but ANY request at all will cause it to freeze. I have to close it through Task Manager. I get no error messages, and when I went in to view the event viewer there is nothing there under Applications.

I've changed the default printer to a non-network but haven't done much else as I don't have administrative privileges on this (work) computer. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that did nothing.
I wanted everyone to find it. In the older Windows programs, you can choose which program opens in editing, but in Windows 7 that feature is disabled. If you download the following program, click File Type Settings > Context Menu > then, for example "PNG" extension-- you can choose which program OPENS a PNG, which program EDITS a PNG, etc. That way you can view a photo in Windows Photo Viewer, but edit in Photoshop. Nonetheless: Illustrator CS6 (Mac OS X 10.6) has just started opening documents with the working window hard left of the screen, rather than immediately tot he right of the toolbar. This happens when opening documents by double-clicking in the Finder and by using File > Open in Illustrator itself.I've tried resetting preferences; and moving the window to the correct position, creating a new workspace and restarting Illustrator. Sadly neither action works.
I have 3 displays connected to my computer, 1 of which is a tablet screen I don't use all the time. (It gets disabled and put away when I turn on SLI for video gaming, or if I just dont need to draw anything at the moment) If I'm drawing something, I'll drag photoshop over to that 3rd screen and do my work. Later, if I want to just crop or resize an image or do simple image manip stuff, I'll drag the window back over to one of my other two screens. The problem I'm facing is that popup dialogs like the open file, save as, preferences; any new window that photoshop opens, appears on whatever monitor it did last time.
Is there a way to force photoshop to always show those windows centered or at least on the same screen the rest of the program is working on? I've been searching for a while and the closest thing I found was a setting called 'Remember Palette Locations', but it looks like that setting was removed in CS5.

I'm willing to change preferences, run some kind of reset script any time photoshop starts, or whatever, just something that will bring those new windows onto the screen I'm working on instead of where they last were. I sat perplexed for about 1 minute when I saved a picture as PNG. Went to upload it and.. ohp! it hasn't changed! Oh! There is an interlace option dialog is showing on a screen thats TURNED OFF.

I have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2008 to 2001. Now when opening a file from windows explorer (desktop vs the AutoCAD browser) and AutoCAD is not running. AutoCAD will startup and open a new drawing as well as bring up the dialog box for finding a file to open, which I cancel, THEN open the drawing that I have selected. I have not seen this before and am wondering what variable or option is causing to happen. I am also seeing two icons for the same drawing file in the Windows task bar.

As of a week or two ago, the pen functionality has started dieing too. Im almost certain that what ever problems im having is not related to the tablet itself but my machine.When photoshop is not the active window, my pen can control the cursor to any position on the screen, however once photoshop is the active window, i can only control the upper left corner of the monitor. Ive tested it on a few apps and the same is happening on Fireworks, After Effects.

I have the latest patch for Photoshop CS4 (11.0.1).
Have the latest patch for my tablet (5.2.1-6) - Bamboo Fun Pen & Touch.
The smaller windows that come up such as those for adjusting the levels, brightness/contrast, etc. moved little by little each time I used them, but I never paid attention until my Levels window moved so far up when it opens to its default location that I can't get to the top of it to move it anywhere. This has happened to a couple other windows for me, and I can't figure out how to fix it! I tried resetting the workspace, changing resolutions back and forth, restarting.

I'm trying to create a user guide and the images are fine when pasted into PS but look blurred when I use the transform tool to reduce their size (or resize image). I thought images got more defined when smaller?!
