View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got rather weird problem. PS CC on the desktop can't open PS CC .psd files created on my laptop (and vice versa) due to compatibility problems. The same relates to the .tif files. It's not corruption of the files, it's happening to every new-written file I try to move between computers. The problem appeared today, during the weekend everything was fine and I changed nothing.

I wish to take my work back to x3 version cause x4 is so buggered with png issues that its now impossible for me to work with it.
I have somehow lost my ability, in P&GD7, to export and open previously-created pdf files. It's not an "option" in the exprot drop-down. Where the heck did it go? I re-installed and it's still not there and I need it!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using the sheet set manager with very few problems for years until - you guessed it - I was upgraded to Windows 7 OS v6.1 and Civil3D 2012 IDS.
Up until then, I was able to open layouts in different drawing files through the sheet set manager while in an open file. Now, I get an error message (see attached) and have to close the file I'm in to open the other.
I can open files through the regular file open command and have more than one open at the same time, but it takes away the convenience of using the sheet set manager to avoid having to browse to the desired sheet layouts when copyclipping sheet layout drawing elements from one file to another.
I have studied every sheet set system variable to see if that was the problem, but could not find an answer. I have the same problem in Civil3D 2010. It happens to new and existing sheet sets in both versions and sheet sets made before the Windows update.
Is it possible to export created surface from civil to revit architecture? If yes , How? And if its not possible - maybe i can somehow import cogo points to revit?

View 4 Replies View Relatedwe are a large manufacturing organisation and currently are using Inventor 2014 for our product design and day to day production drawing. We purchased Inventor 2014 recently for its BIM transfer capabilities. It would appear however that we can only view the outcome of the transferred files fron Inventor within Revit its self.
As we do not require Revit for any production work, purchasing a Revit licence is not an option. I recently downloaded the trial version of Revit Architecture to review the transfer files but the trial licence is now ready to expire.
error messages that say I can't use various functions because the file has objects from a newer version. I have ACA 2012 and the file is from ACA 2013.
Isn't there a way to convert or eliminate these 'objects' so I can use these files 'normally' in 2012 ACA?
A client sent an Illustrator CS6 file to me that I can't open, even though I am also on CS6. He is on a PC and has v 17.0. I am on a Mac with v 16.2.1. I don't see an update higher than that for Mac. Does he need to backsave the file to CS5?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a new alignment based on a survey topo. The first half of the alignment shows the sections/chainages but the second half does not. My alignment should be line, curve, line, line, curve, line, line, curve, line but when I check the design editor, it only shows the 5 elements. When I check the sub entity it appears some are not assigned numbers which have generated a warning symbol.
Why are the last 4 entities not recognized?
How to best smooth a surface created from a DEM file? Contours produced from the surface, particularly in the flatter areas seem to be following the triangles, so you can see the rectangular nature of the grid.
I've attached a screenshot with the contours shown. Up to this point when creating the surface, all I did was add a data clip boundary, then add the DEM file (manually within the surface definition, not using the "create surface from DEM" feature). I had tried some of the options under surface edits & smoothing, natural neighbor interpolation, but the results were still all wonky.
Earlier this year, I was still using CS3. I created a bunch of original TIFF files, and modified files which had been created in CS1. When I am having to go back and reference these CS3 TIFFs, some of them are giving me an error message and refusing to open. Evidently, they are not compatible with CS6?
I have since uninstalled CS3, but the box is sitting on the shelf if I need it (which I am hoping I don't). Any workaround - preferably one which will not destroy my layers.
Suddenly i am facing X6 crashing after an update 1. when open/new file, the software crashes : with the following messages:

What I want to do is put the image on a flash drive and take it somewhere to have it printed in photo quality (my printer won't do it). But like I said the image will only open using paint.net and I'm guessing that if I put it on a flash drive as it is now, it will still ask for paint.net to open where ever I take it.So how do I change it to a jpeg or something else where it will open on it's own and be able to be printed somewhere without paint.net?

I don't want [All Codes] to be used, and since I created a style for the project I'd want to be able to use it when creating corrridor using the tool.
Toolspace Settings seem not to have relevant option.

I am trying to create a surface using the grading tool. I have a known top and a designed floor. I extended the floor surface out to meet the top breakline. I then use the grading tool to run a 3:1 down to the pond floor so I know where the true breakline is, but there is almost always a gap or two in my surface. It is usually less than a foot, but it has made my OCD kick in and I am going crazy trying to figure it out. I've traced of the breaklines, and the contours and added them to the surface to try and fix it, but that doesn't seem to work.

I am currently trying to design a roadway with a reverse curve in it. I am having trouble getting my corridor to model my assembly correctly as it is showing the roadway as the generic assembly and is not adding the superelevation that is shown on my alignment. I have done the following:
1) created an alignment with superelevation wizard - superelevation diagram shows up correctly
2) Created a profile for this alignment
2) created an assembly (Road layer is LaneSuperelevationAOR) in which the right lane is set to use SE on the right outside lane and the left lane is set to use SE on the left outside lane
3) Created a corridor with the assembly and set the width targets to the offset alignments (I.e. the lines that are the edge of pavement)
The corridor does not show the superelevation values based off of the alignments superelevation that it has calculated. I did get the supers to show when i tied the Future EOP to the existing surface, however i do not want it to tie in, I want it to just show the values that were calculated.
Is there a way to get this to show without referencing an additional profile? Also, on my first curve i want to keep the right side at a -2% slope and raise the left side to 2% slope (RC). Is there a way to limit the calcuations to only use a reverse curve?
When I create design points, they will not display until I thaw a layer that the survey points are on. I have double checked these settings: On Toolspace Settings tab, under Points-Commands-CreatePoints, Default Layer is "C-P-POINTS-TEMP". Default Style is set to Point Style=SPOTS-TEMP, and Point Label Style is set to TEMP-POINT#-ELEVATION-DESCRIPTION. When I check these styles, they are both set to the layer "C-P-POINTS-TEMP". Yet every point I create ends up on the layer "C-E-POINTS_FIELDWORK_11-14-11.

I am trying to create a grading in Civil3D 2012, for a stormwater pond design. The sides have a 3:1 slope, and on one side the pond follows natural pre-existing contours, and on the other side there is a construted dam. When I created the grading, the generated feature line has some crazy spikes that are >10000' high. The slopes all look fine, it's just the feature line thats wacky, but it won't let me edit it because its part of a grading, and if I delete it, the pond goes too. In the attached screen shot, the green suface is my existing ground, the blue is my pond, and the white is the problem feature line.
