The PSP X4 trial I was using expired yesterday. Today when I try opening .pspimage files in X3 that I originally created in X4, I get an error message that says they are not valid Paint Shop Pro image files.
I've been given a .cdr file to use. I can't open it in X4, but X3 opens it. Not sure if it's opening it correctly, but it's opening it. X4 just comes up with an "unsupported file type" error. Did Corel drop support for .cdr files in X4?
I can't open files saved in X4 in v9. I couldn't figure out the text tool in X4 & saved the file so I could finish in v9 but v9 says it is not a valid PSP file. This is very frustrating since I need to be able to use v9 until I learn X4. Second, I have 64 bit version of Thumbnail view installed but it still doesn't allow me to see all of my PSP files in Windows Thumbnail view.
Can I/How can I open old Corel .wi -files in Corel PaintShop Pro X4? I have a trial version but I could buy the program if it can open and convert those files. Is there any free converter which can do this?
My daughter in law who is Vietnamese took some photo's and downloaded the Jpeg files onto my pen drive.
When I transferred these files to my hard in the UK, I found that the photo's would not open. Looking at the properties, it showed every Jpeg photo was in in "Read only format" and contained 0 bytes. The hole folder contained 544 M bytes of photo's. I then deleted the shaded out part of the "Read only" file and pressed OK, but this did not allow the file to be read.
I then tried to open the photo's in Paint Shop X4 and this was a success.
A few days later I tried to re access the Jpeg photo's and again, but I cannot open the Jpeg files with or without X4. (working with Widows Home Premium)
I can't see a way to search for this issue that seems faster then looking manually. X4 will open X3 jpg's, but not X3 TIF's. X4 will open the older PSP files, but X3 TIF's show up as black rectangles in X4 workspace and won't open. I've uninstalled X3 already, but do not consider re-installing it as a solution. Previous versions of PSP have been backward compatible for me. If I open a RAW file, edit it and save as a TIF, it will open.
I'm using PSP Pro 4X. I created a tray, but now I can't remove it. I click on the Tray Tool Bar, but the function for deleting the tray is not highlighted so I can't delete the tray.
I have deleted these folders manually and they are recreated each time PSP launches. I have changed the settings in File -> Preferences -> File Locations to remove references to these folder locations, and then tried deleting them, but they are recreated again on load. how to remove them? They are littering my network drive...
I have PSP X3...we are having a family reunion, and decided to create a DVD slideshow of past and present family members to show on a TV screen. The idea was to use a DVD player to play the slideshow, and hopefully be able to give out DVDs of the slideshow to family members at the reunion.
We have been able to create the slideshows using Project Creator: the slideshow consists of typical jpg files scanned using a typical scanner/printer of old photographs. The slideshow is a default .AVI container, which all 3 DVD players we have tried to use state they support AVI. However, none of the DVD players have been able to play the slideshow, saying "disc error", or "disc is not compatible for playing or recording".
My question is, do we need to use the actual Corel PSP X3 program, in order to make the slideshow work? We are able to connect a laptop to a widescreen TV for showing at the reunion, but this would kill our ability to hand out DVDs of the slideshow to family members, as they would 1) need a PC, and 2) need Corel PSP X3 in order to make the slideshow play.
Surely there should be a way to make the video play for typical DVD player support. We have used a Sony, Panasonic, and a Memorex DVD player, with the 1st two options being fairly new, DVR devices.
What I want to do is put the image on a flash drive and take it somewhere to have it printed in photo quality (my printer won't do it). But like I said the image will only open using paint.net and I'm guessing that if I put it on a flash drive as it is now, it will still ask for paint.net to open where ever I take it.So how do I change it to a jpeg or something else where it will open on it's own and be able to be printed somewhere without paint.net?
I work in a collaborative environment. I've upgraded to CS6, but those i work with are working in photoshop cs5.1. Will they have problems opening files i create or save in CS6?
I've got rather weird problem. PS CC on the desktop can't open PS CC .psd files created on my laptop (and vice versa) due to compatibility problems. The same relates to the .tif files. It's not corruption of the files, it's happening to every new-written file I try to move between computers. The problem appeared today, during the weekend everything was fine and I changed nothing.
I have somehow lost my ability, in P&GD7, to export and open previously-created pdf files. It's not an "option" in the exprot drop-down. Where the heck did it go? I re-installed and it's still not there and I need it!
I downloaded the trial version of Paint Shop Pro X3 and I would like to purchase it but I'm having problems with the main reason I need it. I need to open CDR files (read only is fine) but when I try to do that the Corel Draw Graphics Import Filter opens and loads almost until the end but the file never opens.
I had to reinstall my win7.And my X3.Now when I right click on a downloaded tube in it's file the tube won't open in X3.I can only open it from within the workspace.
This was one of the ways I got tubes open.how I can set a preference somewhere so that I can use it this way again?
I have used PSPx7-X3 over the last several years, so I'm experienced at installing new versions. This change to PSPX4 has been giving me fits!
At the moment, only PSPX4 has been installed PLUS the 1st Service Patch.
PROBLEM:When I start, it hangs on the first start up screen with the photo of the girl and the words "Starting Up..."It won't go any further.
I have tried:
1. Uninstalling and re-installing.
2. Uninstalling, running the Corel PSPX4 Clean-Up Tool, and re-installing.
3. Holding "shift" while opening.
4. Running as administrator - although I'm the only user on this laptop. There are not other accounts BUT administrator.
5. I have tried removing the the Corel folder from the app data folders - both in local and in roaming.
Additional Info:I had NO problems with PSP (x3 before Christmas) until Dec. 22 when Windows ran an automatic update which caused HAVOC with my computer. In the next few days, I had to do several system restores and un-stalls of PSPX3 just to get it running to finish up Christmas gifts. I can't just NOT do the critical Windows updates - but I don't know if they are causing an issue with PSP.
I have PSP x4 and recently I am getting no images found. The folder shows up in PSP but when I click on it, it says no images found. It is happening on all my recent downloaded images and a few random folders from a while back. It also is stuck on updating cache settings for about 3 minutes when I am opening the program, it started doing this and the folder issue at the same time.
This morning I was editing a photo with Paintshop x5. I rotated it; adjusted levels, and saved. Fine; then I went to resize it to make a smaller version for email. I suddently get a message from Windows (7) saying the program has stopped and that Windows will shut it down and there will be a message as to what might be the problem. Well, it shut it down; no message. Now I can't start up Paintshop x5; it stays open for a few seconds, then I get the same message.
Since it was working fine, I assume something got corrupted? Something I can remove? I am NOT looking forward to having to reinstall the program for no apparent reason.
I have owned previous versions of Paint Shop Pro, but decided to upgrade again. I really like Paint Shop Pro X4, and it has worked for me in the past on this same machine (Windows 7 HP laptop).
For some reason PSPx4 will not open -- ever -- not at all. The cursor spins continuously. I need to end the program manually. I have installed Corel PSPx4 service pack 3 and this did not work. My computer is healthy.
I have not tried installing and reinstalling PSPx4 because I can't find my disc, but I'm still looking ( I moved recently and I think I misplaced it).
Why did it stop working all of a sudden? I have a bunch of photos to edi.
My Paintshop Pro X4 was working great, until I registered it today, then all hell broke loose. It crashes and also I cannot get the "Computer" tab to open, only the "Desktop" tab will work correctly. Tried restarting it, same results. I use Win XP Pro SP3 and computer does not have virus, nor malware. Hard drive is 500G. Graphics card is updated and more than adequate.
The organizer has suddenly become unstable. When I try and open PSPX3, the organizer shows the spinning blue circle, and that just stays there forever. At the top of the program it says "not responding". I have to force the program closed. I've had PSPX3 for about six months, haven't had any problems before.
Is there something like a main thumbnail catalog file that can be deleted, so that that PXPX3 will rescan the hard drive. It acts like that catalog has become corrupt.
I haven't installed any patches in the last six months, and I can't tell you what version I have, because the program won't open.
I'm new here but for from new to PSP. I've used PSP8 for years and now are using PSP X1. I got PSP 4 but I'm not a fan at all. Anyway I've got a new PC running Win7 64 bit pro. The thing is PSP has decided it want use Adobe open style fonts. The True Type are fine. The open style do show in the fonts list and when used they do create a new vector layer and show the writing in the layers column. The thing is they don't show on the image. They used to work fine before but not now.
When PSP opens i can see the workspace for manage. Other tabs there is adjust and edit. Is it possible that the PSP opens directly into the edit tab ? To begin with, I will just use edit.
Some open fonts have extras for some characters and all. How are those accessible in PSP? I found a tutorial for Photoshop but i cannot see where, in PSP, those features can be accessed. Here is the video: URL....
Any way to get those fun extras from Open Fonts when they have them?
I have migrated to a new PC with Windows7 64-bit. I installed my copy of PSPP X3 and it works fine except for two issues. The File Open dialog always crashes the program when I use it although Drag&Drop and Recent Files work fine.
Another (related) issue is that I cannot use Customize Scripts either.
I'm trying to open some AMD partner logos, and they're in EPS format. I tried opening them in PSPX2 originally, and it gave the error that "This PostScript file is either not valid or contains unsupported features" so I tried PSPX3 and the same thing is happening. I tried opening them in Notepad to see if there was anything in there to identify the program that was used to create them and it appears to be Illustrator 13. I don't have Illustrator 13, so how do I resolve this issue with PSPX3?
I recently installed Corel paintshop pro x4 in my computer and when I go to open it, it takes a long time for it to open. My mouse keeps spinning. When I first installed it, everything worked fine. I added a couple of plug ins. Should I uninstall paintshop and re-install? If so, would I lose the plug-ins?
When I double-click an image file name in Windows Explorer a new instance of PSP7 is opened for each image. What I need is to open multiple images in one instance of PSP when I double-click the image name.
