I've got rather weird problem. PS CC on the desktop can't open PS CC .psd files created on my laptop (and vice versa) due to compatibility problems. The same relates to the .tif files. It's not corruption of the files, it's happening to every new-written file I try to move between computers. The problem appeared today, during the weekend everything was fine and I changed nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI work a bit on my laptop (vista premium, 4gb ram) and especially with large files the ram soon get maxed out and the scratch disk is used a lot (haven't run out, have about 150-170gb free).
I was wondering if putting the scratch onto a (partitioned - 1st for scratch) portable esata hdd would help?
Earlier this year, I was still using CS3. I created a bunch of original TIFF files, and modified files which had been created in CS1. When I am having to go back and reference these CS3 TIFFs, some of them are giving me an error message and refusing to open. Evidently, they are not compatible with CS6?
I have since uninstalled CS3, but the box is sitting on the shelf if I need it (which I am hoping I don't). Any workaround - preferably one which will not destroy my layers.
I have been sent a file that when I try to open it, it says I don't have enough Ram. However, I have files far larger than this one (1.01 MB) which all open with no problems.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm getting HUGE files on my secondary hard drive, and i think they are because i designated it as my primary scratch disk. the size of the files are from 175,000kb-245,000kb. an example of the file name is "Photoshop Temp3347028". can someone tell me what these are, and if i need them all? i'm sure i can delete at least some of them, but i just wanted to make sure before i go messing anything up. does it seem normal to have these files? my system is a bit unstable, and sometimes my computer crashes when using photoshop and i have other programs open. i have 1 gig of ram, but it crashes nevertheless. i'm mentioning this because i was wondering if these files might have something to do with photoshop crashing my system.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt appears that Photoshop on an osx machine is also creating a ._Pictures Name.jpg file for each jpg in the same folder as the jpg. Is that a Photoshop or osx thing? is there a way to prevent all those extra files from being created?
We put the folders of jpg's on the windows server, then have to go through and manually kill all those ._files before we can use the folder.
how to use 3F files created with flexcolor software in photoshop CS6. I have installed the Imacon 3F plug-in but can can only open the 3F files when I remove the camera RAW plug-in. Is there any way you can have both installed for it work. Also is it possible to import 3F files into Lightroom 5.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've sliced an image for publishing to the web and saved it as an HTML file using the Save for Web command (PSC3). It is my understanding that PS creates the images and pages according to the options set in the Save for Web dialog, however, when viewed, the page shows place holders for the slices, but only red X's for the images. The resulting HTML code references a number of GIF files located in an "images" folder, but I cannot find the location of that folder. Search does not show a folder, nor the referenced file names.
Am I mis-understanding the HTML option in the Save for Web process? If not, where did PS put the images it supposedly created from the slices?
As part of my workflow I import through Lightroom, then edit into Photoshop. This creates file 1 & 2 of 2 in my Lightroom. After editing all of the selected pictures into PSD files I routinely provide clients with smaller JPG's. I do this by opening the PSD flattening, shrinking, sharpening and "save as" into JPG's.
This does not create a third file in Lightroom and when I go to import the new JPG's Lightroom does not see them. I can open a Finder window ( I use a MAC) and see the files, but cannot get Lightroom to see them to import, then export to other media.

What I want to do is put the image on a flash drive and take it somewhere to have it printed in photo quality (my printer won't do it). But like I said the image will only open using paint.net and I'm guessing that if I put it on a flash drive as it is now, it will still ask for paint.net to open where ever I take it.So how do I change it to a jpeg or something else where it will open on it's own and be able to be printed somewhere without paint.net?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI created a file in Illustrator CS6 (v. 16.0.0), and saved it as an (editable) PDF. When I try to reopen that same PDF inside Illustrator CS6, however, I get a "Could Not Open The File" error. The file opens in Acrobat just fine, but I need to continue editing/working on it. Opening it in 5.1 works but it's all flat and not ideal for editing. Renaming the extension to .eps or .ai didn't work, either. I also looked into potential font conflicts (none) and restarted my Mac (OS 10.7.5) to no avail.

These files are saved as TIFFs, and as part of my workflow, I have just about everything in Groups. She currently has Elements 10 on her system, but that absolutely does not permit access to the Groups and the components within. Because of her job duties, I cannot necessarily justify adding her to the CC account since she does not need PS, AI, ID, or any of the other applications as I do. However, I can easily justify upgrading her to Elements 12...provided it does what we need it to.

View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing Revit 2014 LT. Trying to open a file created by another user/seat of Revit 2014 LT (trial version for now).
Error Message reads "The file is open for editing by another user. If you open the file, you cannot save changes until the user closes is. In this case, your changes will overwrite the user's changes. What do you want to do?"
The file is NOT open by another user though.
I realize LT does not allow worksharing, but I assumed that was multiple users working on the same file at the same time. We need to open files one at a time, but by different users.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 100's of flat images that I have to chop up into 3 parts and save as individual pieces to then load into a separate piece of software.
My problem is that when I start the batch, the 3 new images it creates for each image are simply overwriting each other when saving.
The options for serial numbers etc in the destination field of batch seems to only work for the original file opened, not the 3 new images the action creates/saves.
