Photoshop :: Batch Processing - New Files Created Inside Action Are Overwriting Each Other?

I have 100's of flat images that I have to chop up into 3 parts and save as individual pieces to then load into a separate piece of software.
My problem is that when I start the batch, the 3 new images it creates for each image are simply overwriting each other when saving.
The options for serial numbers etc in the destination field of batch seems to only work for the original file opened, not the 3 new images the action creates/saves.
Here is the thing. I have implementes several action on Photoshop. SOme of the include several sub actions and different saving locations. For example, I open a file, then I hit my prefered key combo for that action, and I have:
1) convert to cmyk 2)save copy as JPG with 11 quality level 3) save to folder A 4) image size to 72 dpi 5) covert to RGB 6) save as JPG 6 quality level 7) save to folder B 8) close file and discard cahnges.
Everything runs like heaven, but the moment I want to batch several files everything stalls.
I choose file > Batch > Choose my set > choose my action Source > I choose where my files are (usually a PDF) then I use "Supress file open options dialogs" Destination> Since I already have set destinations y my actions, I choose here a "dump" folder On errors > I hit Save As... and put a name for that log.
Then photohop opens my PDF on Photoshop and does nothing! It keeps my file open. I ma about to work with 400 files to batch, and this batch system does not work.
I have 30 dirs, each of them with 4 thumbs in it. I want to make one big thumb of every 4 smaller ones, by resizing and fitting them together into square. Like
Thumb1 right next to Thumb2 below Thumb3 right next to Thumb4
and then save that image.
Would you give me any direction how to do that? I'm with CS3. I did explore the auto and script options in the File menu, but still unable to get idea how to do that, if possible at all
I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
I've got a batch process set up, and want to run it on all opened files. I set the destination to "Folder", because I want to use the batch process's naming facilities. When I run the batch, it closes the files it works on. However, I want to perform subsequent batch actions on the files, so need them kept open. There's no Close function included in the batch action as far as I can tell.
I want to do batch processing of 460 .png files. It includes rescaling their width to 50% without interpolation, changing color mode to indexed based on a specified palette, changing color mode to RGB and rescaling their width to 200%.
I made an action that saves a JPEG using Save for Web and it overwrites the existing file. Unfortunately when I run the action or use it in a batch it asks me if I want to replace the existing file.
We have written a .Net ACAD2014 plugin to publish PDF files to be used by accoreconsole for batch processing and we have found that dates contained with the drawing are incorrectly formatted using the American date format mm/dd/yy.
Within ACAD2014 using netload and executing the command, dates contained within the title block are correctly formated using the current culture information in this case en-AU (dd/mm/yyyy).
When performiing a netload within accoreconsole the dates are formatted as en-US (mm/dd/yy) even though when reporting the current culture from within accoreconsole it is reporting as en-AU.
I want to create a batch action that will process raw files by setting their workflow resolution option and image settings in camera raw. I can create a batch action by recording an open command for a raw file, setting the workflow resolution and image settings, and then stopping the action recording.
This creates an open action which captures the resolution , images settings instruction , and other settings for camera raw, but it also captures the camera model and workflow options are specific to a camera model. If I then use the action on multiple raw files from different cameras, raw files from the camera specified in the 'open' step will get processed as I want, but raw files from any other camera model will get processed with whatever workflow resolution option was used the last time I manually opened a file from that model in ACR.
I tried recording an 'open' step by bringing raw files from 3 different cameras into ACR and selecting to open them in photoshop, but that created three 'open' steps, one for each camera model, in the action. Running that action produced three versions of every image from every camera model. No good.
How can I create an action that will set the workflow resolution option based on the camera model, when images from different camera models are being processed in the batch?
I am running a batch action that deletes some art from WMF files, and then saves them. When I run the batch, I am prompted to save an .AI file which is named the same as the WMF files that I am processing. This occurs every for every file, stopping the batch to prompt for saving the .AI file.
I created an Action to batch export a folder of .ai files to create 300dpi .png's of the .ai file's artboard. I did this by simply recording "Export...as png" with my desired settings then Batch running the Action on desired folder of .ai files. The files were successfully exported, the trouble is that the exported files lack a .png file extension. My intent is to take these PNG files and merge them into a single PDF using Acrobat Pro. Unfortunatly, without the .PNG extension, Acrobat Pro does not recognize the file types and does not let me use the Combine Files feature on them. Going back and manually adding a .png at the end of the exported files defeats the time-saving purpose of Batch Processing all together. Is there something I am missing or doing incorrectly? I have included screenshots of 1) My Batch Action settings 2) folders showing files without .png extension and 3) visual of what I see when I am trying to combine PNGs into a PDF.
OS X - 10.6.8 Photoshop CS5.1 (From CS5.5 Suite) AND Photoshop CS5
When we open a PSD file, then save the file overwriting the previous version, the file becomes invisible. I can use Terminal to set the file to visible, but when we save it again it becomes invisible again. We were initially working on a network, but it also happens when we try to save it to the desktop. When the files are saved under a new name, or in a new location, they are visible, it's only when overwriting. We have 14 Macs working on the same network, but it's only happening on one. We tested it with the same files on another Mac overwriting on the network, and it worked fine. Files that are overwritten and become invisible are then invisible to every computer, not just the one causing the issue.
This is happening with both CS5.1 and CS5.
The only work around we've found is to either individually set the files to visible, or set all files to visible. We can't leave all files set to visible because several people work on each computer every day, and one of them is bound to start deleting every file that they don't know what it is...
It doesn't always happen but when I use save for web to save an image it goes through all the motions as normal but when I go to view the image, I find that it hasn't overwritten the original file. It has happened to other people in the studio too so it might be something to do with our setup?
We are possibly going to start shooting volume HDR images. Time will be a factor when shooting 4 locations a day and still having to process. Is there a way to stack the images at the end of the job like an action, then when I get back to the studio, I can tweak the images?
I have some images which I want to increase the border pixels by about 2-3pixels. Then I want to add a shadow effect. I need to do this for around 150 images. I've tried to do it via new action/record and then batch processing but its not doing the job.
I'm going on a scrapbooking retreat this weekend and need to develop 200+ photos and upload to CVS.com. I have all my pictures in .jpg format now but I need to get the overall size of the files under 6mb to work with CVS's website.
I know that CS2 has a batch process to take the file size to certain pixel dimension but wanted to know if anyone knew a way to do it to fit overall file size vs. dimension.
I created an action to convert a file to grayscale from RGB but when used in batch processing it opens and saves the files to the specified folder without applying the mode conversion.
If I use the action on a single file it works fine.
I have a folder of about 1000 pictures that I need to resize and save for the web. Using Photoshop CS4. The originals are all JPG files, but are saved at high resolutions and sizes. But they are not uniform in size. I need to resize each to be 200 px wide @ 72 dpi, but allow the height to vary depending upon the image dimensions. I haven't used Photoshop for a number of years. I *think* I remember the ability to walk through a series of steps and record them and then batch apply to a whole folder, but can't see a way to do that now.
I do see in the Image Processor the ability to resize and save, but it doesn't allow me to set the width and leave the height empty.
I am batching both photoshop native files and attempting .Pdf files. They are both located in the same folder.
The .psd files process correctly,(converting to jpg) to .jpg file formats. But the .pdf files don't actually save. If I use the action on these files individually, the action works fine.
We are holding a conference of sorts, and we are making name tags for everyone to hang around their necks. We have a design in photoshop. We have an excel spreadsheet with everyone's name and forum. Traditionally, the name tags were juts copied and pasted by hand, which is tedious and prone to mistakes.
is there a faster way to do this? i heard something about scripts, but i have no idea where to start. does anyone have a pointer to where i can learn it? i only want to learn the bare minimum to write THIS script, as im sure it's the only script i'll ever write for photoshop.
Batch Photoshop processing from bridge does not work , it says no files to open using bridge select or folder select. I am not suppressing open dialog (although I tried it that way too).
Anybody able to point me in the direction of a plug-in/software that will add the filenames to a batch of 200 images and then assimilate them into a template, ready for printing?
I use CS and can do this in Picture Package a few at a time but it is a little cumbersome. I am a school photographer.
advanced batch image processing. I need the following to happen to a folder of images:
1) All images in the folder are resized with constrained proportion to a width of 250px.
2.) They are then combined into one image file placed above each other in a column (literally, not layers). Each image also needs spacing between the other, about 20px
3.) This is then compressed as an 8 quality jpeg and exported as a new image.
So basically I have a folder of images that I want to convert into a long 'gallery' image with spacing between each.
