Is there anyway of plotting a cad drawing from the model view screen so that certain linescales show? At the moment when I plot it will show hatched items without the outlines.
View 9 RepliesThe layer is on and the ground levels on the architectural drawing in model view show the number and the box surrounding them however in the drawing window be it in the numbers have dissapeared and we are left with only the boxes ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to understand how Linetype scale works, and have been researching on LTSCALE, MSLTSCLAE and PSLTSCLAE. I believe I have a fair understanding of each of these settings. Still, I can't figure out how the scaling works while I was trying to create custom line type. To illustrate, I created a new linetype called XCENTER, which is exactly the same line type as CENTER except its name, in a new LIN file.

After loading the new linetype into my drawing, I was surprised to see that CENTER and XCenter show up in different scales in the same drawing (see png).
My work file is WORK.DWG, I have purged everything except the two polylines, one with the line type of CENTER, the other xCENTER. Not that my global scale is 1:100, LTSCLAE=, MSLTSCALE=1, the object scales are both set to 1.0.
I copied the two lines to clipboard and pasted on a brand new drawing TEST.DWG, and the two lines show up in the same scale.
What in my original drawing WORK.DWG is causing this problem?
I made a SitePlan in AutoCAD with all of the proper line scales set, but when I imported the file into Revit, they were all solid lines, not hidden or phantom styles as they should be. I fully exploded the site plan within Revit, but i still have yet to see a possible way to adjust the line type scales. So far it has only been telling me about how to change the line weight, which is not what I'm trying to do. If there is any information i can begiven on whether it is even possible to adjust the line type scale in Revit from an AutoCAD file

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to Inventor 2014 we notice that the graphics do not work properly, and that the overall performance in drawings and modelling bad compared to 2013. Then we installed SP1 and now drawing views are disappearing, however when we select "shaded" view the view reappears and works perfectly..
Any workaround regarding disappearing views?
I have a drawing that I created with acad 2010 that has a pdf xref attached. I just updated to 2013. And now when I go to plot the drawing my xref shows up in preview but doesn't show up on the plot.
I can go back to my 2010 version, and it plots fine. What gives?

We also tried for "HIDEPRECISION=1" command , even then not displaying it.
Then we use "OBSCUREDLTYPE=1" then the missing object display but other all lines get too dark in the same drawing .

I have a 3D model. I'm making drawing view, using "create view" task. Now, when i got my view in layout, I choose "edit view" and set appearance to "hidden lines". Ok. When I plot my drawing, i get all lines with the same line weight - visible and invisible lines are all the same weight. How can I make invisible (hidden) lines to be plotted thinner, while visible lines stay thick? Do Autocad 2013 have this option to make it available to change?

The viewport will show the selected area. find the old VBA code that achived this and the .net code I am trying with. .Net code always gives some exception.

A plotting issue that has never been addressed perplexes me! When working in a paperspace layout and trying to plot or print by window or display, I get a partial print or nothing at all. Typically, I will get a partial print showing the drawing above a diagonal line. This has plagued me through many versions of Autocad.

For example, a line of width 0.35mm and short dashed style is displayed correctly in model view, but in layout view is displayed as thin as the default width, and its dash style is also changed (dash length and interval).

I use Cad2013 . During a line command , I can not see the length beside the courser , so I have enter the length using keyboard and it is very time consuming .
I do not remember if I changed any default settings but It used to work properly .
Win 7-32 bit - cad2013 full version - no plugins - No viruses .
I can "Get Model Sketch" to make it appear visible in a drawing view. But I can find no way to use these "edges" or "lines" or "entities" or whatever they are, later in a drawing view sketch. No way to project them from Model Sketch to Drawing View sketch. I can attach leaders and dimensions to these Model Sketch entitites but I can find no way to use them in a sketch owned by the drawing view. Am I missing something?

how can i rotate a drawing view in model space and paper space? UCS -> new -> 3 point -> and saving the view works, but trying to figure out how to do this with paper space now. My purpose if for pulling construction lines from plans, for elevations. In the past I simply rotated the drawing, but if i had a layer turned off it would mess up their positioning.

If I hit plot at this point, my colour dependent .ctb file works fine. However, once I swtich to model view, all my linework turns white and if I switch back to Layout view it remains white and plots each line with the weight assigned to the colour white.

When you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI´m using Inventor Professional 2013 64-bit build 138.No matter what I get 1 pixel wide lines on screen and on printer.
I can control line colour and line type (as in solid, dashed, dotted etc) from Manage - Styles editor - Layers.
When I make changes to the "Visible" layer:
- the line colour changes come through both to screen and printer
- the line type only comes through to the screen, but not to the printer
- the line weight is ignored both by screen and printer
Tools - Application Options - Drawing - Display line weights
seems to have no effect at all.how to get drawing line weights to come through to the printer
When I draw say a dashed line in the model space it sometimes looks broken exactly how I would expect it to look. Yet when I then set the drawing up in a viewport within the paper space it looks like a continuous line. It also plots as a continuous line.
The only way I have found of working around this is to change the linetype scale of the line in question (usually to around 0.012) this then usually gets the line to display dashed as expected on the paper space. It is very trial and error though with different lines requiring different scales?
I wondered if there is a setting so that they display in the model space exactly as they would display in the paper space or vice versa?
“Scale lineweight” issue. When plotting in the office to A2 Printer I usually check the “Scale lineweight” checkbox. In some drawing “Scalelineweight ” does mess with the lines scales showed in the preview and on the paper. why?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe just recently upgraded to Inventor Pro 2014. I have a user who has created a singled shaded view drawing. He want to print the drawing shaded. When he prints he gets a line drawing. It even appears like a line drawing when he previews it. He gets the same results when printing to Adobe. He said it printed properly in the morning yesterday and when he tried to print again in the afternoon it would not print shaded. He rebooted this morning and he still can't print a shaded drawing from Inventor. We looked at his printer settings and everything looks good. He is the only one in my department who is having this problem.

Can this be done? I want to go through the DrawingView Object to get at a subcomponent of an assembly and either set that component to have hidden lines (where needed) or no hidden lines.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI use many types of lines for drafting. I have to set a Linetype Scale depending on the scale asked by the client. For example if the client asks for 1:100 then my lines are set to 0.5. But if he suddenly changes her/his mind and asks for a 1:250 scale I have to change all the Linetype Scales to 2.5.
Is there something like "Annotation scale" for lines? So whenever I change the drawings scale my lines can be seen as they must be.
I am a very infrequent user of CAD and still do things like I used to do back in the '90s.
I draw in Model space at full scale--except, and this is why I am posting this question, when I have a small detail I want to be visible.
Can I draw a detail in Model space that is a different scale than the main drawing, or do I have to make it 'larger' by using Paper space and a viewport. Like maybe a block or some procedure I am unaware of.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy hard drive died and I purchased a new hard drive. I run Vista Business and have both PS cs3 and PSE. Both programs show my grayscales as shades of purple. It also prints as shades of purple. But I have other photo editing software and it shows grays correctly and prints correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions? It use to work okay before the new hard drive was installed. None of my other software is acting any differently.
