I am having issues with isolated foundations not showing as cut when the cut plan is through the foundation. The wall foundations are shown cut, but I cannot get the isolated foundations to show cut. I verified by wall sections that both foundation types are definitely passing through the cut plane.

I'm trying to edit a mass so I have it isolated. I want to see how large something is so I need to dimension it. But when I create the dimension I can't see it. It is hidden.
It's hidden because I have everything hidden except for the mass. But the dimension wasn't included in the things to hide when I chose to isolate that mass. So why is it hidden now?
Is this normal for Revit? When you have something isolated, does it only ever just show the items you have isolated? Can't it ever show new objects too? Can you switch off this behavior so it displays the new objects too?
Just what the title says. Walls dont appear when drawing in plan view but appear in the 3d view. how come??

I can't move down the wall foundation. (The highlighted piece.) What's the reason of it? The properties of the wall foundation doesn't have the offset feature.
I am having trouble placing a wall foundation under a curtain wall in my project. Revit says that a foundation has been added but it is not visible in any view. I've tried editing the visiblity properties but that didn't fix the probelm.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Revit. For instance I was working on adding foundation slabs to my walls .. all walls were done and had slabs beneath them and one wall still didn't have any. Once I tried to add the slab to that particular wall ( just by clicking on it, like ive done with every other wall ) it fails to do so and doesn't add any slab.
But my main problem is, sometimes when I work on my project everything becomes UNCLICKABLE, I do not know what im doing wrong and the only way for me to add walls or anything is by clicking CTRL+Z untill the meny gets highlighted again.

I'm having problems seeing the walls I drew at the foundation level in this project. The walls should be shown but I can't get to see them except in a 3d view. Also, when i intended to draw them, I think I should have done it from the foundation level plan but I could not set the plan view to see the above objects in order to draw from them. I drew it from another level and then I modified their base and top constraints afterwards..
I tried to modify the view range of the foundation level without success.
I am painting a brick wall, the wall is separated into 2 objects, the bricks and the stuff between the bricks.
The problem I am having is that I isolate the stuff between the bricks and paint that gray but when I "show all objects" the gray color have transferred to the edges of the bricks. I have tried maps with different resolutions but that makes no difference.
How do I make it so that I can paint only on the isolated object?
One other way:I can apply 2 different mudbox materials, 1 to each object and create 2 diffuse maps, 2 bump maps and 2 specular maps. But how do I combine the different map with each other?
The objects are going to be combined into 1 mesh that uses 1 diffuse map, 1 normal map and 1 specular map.
I have a model done and cutting a Foundation plan and then dressing it out. I want to use the architectural dimensions but needing to offset the column bubble at the stair pad as you can see on the attached dwg. I cannot figure out how to adjust the dimensions with out having to manually draw a dim line.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI began to notice a weird glitch with the layer Defpoints.
When you isolate this layer any object on the layer is now unattainable to be selected via normal window crossing and direct object clicking. Go a head and try it and you will see what I am talking about. I also discovered even with a select few extra layers turned/thawed on with defpoints alone you still cannot select any objects on the layer. I noticed maybe +10 layers (dont quote me) turned on with defpoints then it is selectable as normal.
IIRC you can still select it via qslect once the layer is isolated.
I tried creating custom layers to replicate defpoints with non printable attributes etc. and it worked fine with this glitch because it wasn't defpoints but there's nothing like good ol defpoints. I personally tend to draft alot of behind the scenes information on defpoints.
I have a stock photo of a white and yellow flower isolated on black and when I add an alpha channel and use 'color to alpha' to remove the black background it creates some transparency in the image too.
I understand that this is because it is taking the black out of the flower too but I thought the point of isolating an image was so that the background can be removed.....which leads me to believe that there must be another way of doing this?
i am using Acad 2005 for two years. since now i started to use acad 2010. i did find the difference in layer isolation in 2005 if you do layer isolation, only the particular layer visible. then can be select all of them in one window. without disturbing other layers. but in 2010 while i isolate a layer, other layers also visible in the backround. when i select the isolated layer in one window, also the backround layers also getting selected.

I've got a large job and Object Isolate has been good for our drawing prodeuction but now we're running into some glitches on a regular basis the last few weeks.
1st Undo is being disabled. Thia really only started since we've begun plotting drawings and Isolating objects.
2nd We can't isolate everything. Is there a limit to the number of objects that can be isolated? or anything that controls that?
Can i save a vector with gradient mesh as isolated .PNG? It has some effects, so if I'm taking it out from the blue background it becomes darker. I need it isolated png for using it in an iOS app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA new phenomenon today after updating R14 yesterday with the 'rvt2014ur11' patch, though this might not be connected. My revision clouds, after finishing the edit and clicking the big green tick, disappear! The revion number and note is added to the bottom of the sheet but no revision cloud. As annotation objects visibility is on, there is no annotation cut off on a sheet view and they do not show up when the 'Reveal Hidden Elements' is chosen.

In order to see beam in my architectural layout, we are changing the cut plane value in the view range. With this step I can see the beam but not the cut pattern of the beam..very weird. Also, one more thing, just to check I copy pasted beam modeled in revit 2011 in revit 2013 and I could see the cut pattern. So is something wrong with 2013 beam revit family?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have inherited some Revit files, all of which have a ground floor and ceiling plan (hence an associated level).
The levels do not show the in elevations (or sections for that matter). It is not a view setting, I have checked this, nor are they hidden by category or element. I have added new levels and these are visible. The levels exist, I just cannot view them or select them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a file that I have applied different floor finishes to different rooms based on flooring patterns and hatches - they are not visible in the floor plans . Funny thing is if I make a seperate room outside the project in the same view and assign it flooring patterns - it does show up all the floor finishes. The only reason I can think of is phases. I have attached images for reference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a model and i created a new level as normal, propogated extents etc but when i created as section North to South (Vertical) in the model the level does not show. When i create a section from East to west (horizontal) then the level appears fine. I've tried creating many sections and this is always the case. If i select a level in the section and click on select all instances in entire project the number includes the additional level but i can't see it. It is not hidden in the view, not on a different workset or anything unusual...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit 2013 and have built a material library for the company I work for. It has been working fine up until about an hour ago. Now when I try to open up the material library I created it says "No assets in this library". I can't figure out why there is nothing there. And I don't want to have to recreate all my materials I already created! I can still find the file in my folders and it says theres 3930 KB of information in the file. I included a picture of what my Assest Editor and Asset Browser show when I try to open my library.

The SheetSet incorporates Sheet Views, ViewLabels, and View Callouts as part of the SheetSet as well as Fields in the standard titleblock for Sheet Title and Sheet Number. A Sheet List Table created from the Sheet Set is used as the Project Sheet Index.
There are Structural and Mechanical (HVAC) drawings that require design subcontractor review and editing. These design subcontractors will make their own edits to our existing drawings. They are outside our office and have no direct digital connectivity with us. It is most likely not possible to provide them connectivity to our project file storage space for non-technical reasons. (i.e. it may be technically possible but not possible for other reasons not under my control.) Their knowledge and proficiency with Sheet Sets is unknown.
What is the, or is there a, best method for accomplishing coordination of our Sheet Set with the subcontractor edits under these conditions?
If digital connectivity between our offices is possible, what is the best practice / scenario for Sheet Sets with that setup?I'll need to send the files to these subcontractors or establish connectivity in the next few days!
